00:03Hello WA, it is Sunday the 23rd of August and this is your weather update for the week ahead.
00:08You've just had most of the active weather from this cut off low delivered over the weekend with
00:12some rain and thunderstorms associated with it but that should be clearing out now at the start
00:17of the week. So this is Sunday's rainfall here we go by Monday it's cleared out here and you've
00:24got a high pressure system moving over so there's a bit more settled weather on the way for you all
00:28there. Tuesday same sort of weather we can start to see the development of a front and that's going
00:34to arrive sort of late Tuesday into Wednesday where it can deliver a possibility of 25 to 50 mils so
00:41quite a bit of rainfall associated with that front but not very strong winds that we're seeing there
00:46so rainfall but not a lot of wind there. Thursday we're still getting rainfall from this but it has
00:51weakened 15 to 25 mils and then by Friday it starts to move across into the eastern part of the
00:57state
00:57for then a relatively calm weekend if you're on the west coast but still sort of rain and showers if
01:05you're into the interior of the state and then by Sunday it should be calm and clear for most of
01:10WA.
01:11Okay this is just to show you the wind field associated with that front moving through so um 40 to
01:1863
01:18kilometer hour gusts which are possible sort of on the coast and into this um central coastal area in
01:25the state but overall sort of 10 to 20 kilometer per hour gusts so not very strong wind associated at
01:31all. We're going to zoom in now to the town of Bunbury of WA which is just south of Perth
01:36to show you
01:36the story of the week so uh nice and calm sort of tops of 18 17 degrees Sunday Monday Tuesday
01:43the
01:44rainfall starts to arrive six mils a lot of that is perturbed by the Canadian model which is showing
01:49that front arriving a little bit earlier I'll show you I'll just collapse that here this is the Canadian
01:53model showing the arrival of a lot of that rainfall a bit earlier than the rest of the models
01:57so a bit more of the consensus is around the arrival sort of midday Wednesday or early Wednesday
02:01and that's showing a range of anywhere between 17 to 52 mils there on Wednesday um with our model
02:09showing around about 30 mils possibly on the way for the town of Bunbury. Uh Thursday we've got five
02:14mils but so it's starting to clear out and then Friday Saturday Sunday and Monday all seem relatively
02:19settled. We're not getting particularly cold conditions Friday we've got a low of five degrees
02:24in that area so that means around that sort of southern um part of the state there definitely could
02:29be fog towards the end of the week arriving. Okay um that's sort of it for the forecast this is
02:35just
02:35the rainfall accumulation just to show you that 25 to 50 mils on the way for the south and then
02:40this
02:40sort of interior or eastern part of WA is accumulation of the cutoff low that's sitting over that area
02:47today on Sunday and into Monday and then also as the front moves through into that area towards the
