00:14In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
00:18The Lord be with you, and with your spirit.
00:21Brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins, and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
00:27You were sent to heal the contrite of heart. Lord, have mercy.
00:32You came to call sinners. Christ, have mercy.
00:36You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us. Lord, have mercy.
00:42May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.
00:49Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of goodwill.
00:53We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you.
00:58We give you thanks for your great glory.
01:01Lord God, Heavenly King, O God Almighty Father.
01:06Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son.
01:09Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father.
01:12You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
01:17You take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer.
01:20You are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.
01:25For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord.
01:29You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
01:37Let us pray.
01:40O God, who from living and chosen stones, prepare an eternal dwelling for your majesty.
01:47Increase in your church the grace you have bestowed, so that by unceasing growth, your faithful people may build up
01:55the heavenly Jerusalem.
01:57Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
02:04God forever and ever.
02:06Amen.
02:09The readings today are taken from the common of readings used for the dedication of a church.
02:15A reading from the prophet Ezekiel.
02:19The angel brought me to the entrance of the temple, where a stream came out from under the temple threshold
02:26and flowed eastwards, since the temple faced east.
02:30The water flowed from under the right side of the temple south of the altar.
02:35He took me out by the north gate, and led me right round outside, as far as the outer east
02:42gate, where the water flowed out on the right-hand side.
02:46He said,
02:48This water flows east, down to the araba and to the sea, and flowing into the sea, it makes its
02:55waters wholesome.
02:56Wherever the river flows, all living creatures steaming in it will live.
03:02Fish will be very plentiful, for wherever the water goes, it brings health, and life teems wherever the river flows.
03:11Along the river on either bank will grow every kind of fruit tree, with leaves that never wither, and fruit
03:19that never fails.
03:20They will bear new fruit every month, because this water comes from the sanctuary, and their fruit will be good
03:29to eat, and the leaves medicinal.
03:32The Word of the Lord
03:36The waters of the river gladden the city of God.
03:40The waters of the river gladden the city of God.
03:44God is for us a refuge and strength, a helper close at hand in time of distress.
03:50So we shall not fear, though the earth should rock, though the mountains fall into the depths of the sea.
03:56The waters of the river gladden the city of God.
04:00The waters of a river give joy to God's city, the holy place where the Most High dwells.
04:06God is within, it cannot be shaken.
04:09God will help it at the dawning of the day.
04:13The waters of the river gladden the city of God.
04:16The Lord of hosts is with us, the God of Jacob is our stronghold.
04:20Come, consider the works of the Lord, the redoubtable deeds he has done on the earth.
04:26The waters of the river gladden the city of God.
04:33Alleluia, Alleluia!
04:35I have chosen and sanctified this house, says the Lord, that my name may remain in it for all time.
04:42Alleluia!
04:44The Lord be with you.
04:46A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
04:50Glory to you, O Lord.
04:53Just before the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem, and in the temple he found people selling cattle and
05:01sheep and pigeons, and the money changers sitting at their counters there.
05:06Making a whip out of some cord, he drove them all out of the temple, cattle and sheep as well.
05:16Scattered the money changers' coins, knocked their tables over, and said to the pigeon sellers,
05:21Take all this out of here, and stop turning my father's house into a market.
05:29Then his disciples remembered the words of scripture,
05:33Zeal for your house will devour me.
05:36The Jews intervened and said, What sign can you show us to justify what you have done?
05:42Jesus answered, Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will raise it up.
05:48The Jews replied, It has taken forty-six years to build this sanctuary.
05:54Are you going to raise it up in three days?
05:57But he was speaking of the sanctuary that was his body.
06:01And when Jesus rose from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this,
06:07and they believed the scripture and the words he had said.
06:12The Gospel of the Lord.
06:14Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
06:40Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation.
06:43For through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you.
06:46Fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life.
07:03Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation.
07:05For through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you.
07:09Fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become for us our spiritual drink.
07:32Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father.
07:37May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and the glory of his name,
07:42for our good and the good of all his holy church.
07:45Accept, we pray, O Lord, the offerings made here,
07:48and grant that by it those who seek your favor may receive in this place the grace of the sacraments
07:55and an answer to their prayers through Christ our Lord.
07:59Amen.
08:00The Lord be with you and with your spirit.
08:03Lift up your hearts.
08:04We lift them up to the Lord.
08:06Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
08:08It is right and just.
08:10It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,
08:13always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God.
08:20For in your benevolence you are pleased to dwell in this house of prayer
08:24in order to perfect us as the temple of the Holy Spirit,
08:29supported by the perpetual help of your grace
08:31and resplendent with the glory of a life acceptable to you.
08:36Year by year you sanctify the church, the bride of Christ,
08:41foreshadowed in visible buildings,
08:43so that rejoicing as the mother of countless children,
08:46she may be given her place in your heavenly glory.
08:50And so with all the angels and saints we praise you,
08:53as without end we acclaim,
08:56Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of hosts,
09:00heaven and earth are full of your glory.
09:03Hosanna in the highest.
09:05Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
09:08Hosanna in the highest.
09:12You are indeed holy, O Lord, a fount of all holiness.
09:16Make holy, therefore, these gifts we pray,
09:18by sending down your Spirit upon them like the doofo,
09:22so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:28At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion,
09:32he took bread and giving thanks broke it,
09:35and gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:38Take this, all of you, and eat of it,
09:41for this is my body,
09:43which will be given up for you.
10:02In a similar way, when supper was ended,
10:04he took the chalice,
10:06and once more giving thanks,
10:08he gave it to his disciples, saying,
10:10Take this, all of you, and drink from it,
10:12for this is the chalice of my blood,
10:15the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
10:18which will be poured out for you and for many,
10:21for the forgiveness of sins.
10:23Do this in memory of me.
10:39The mystery of faith.
10:41When we eat this bread and drink this cup,
10:44we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again.
10:48Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection,
10:52we offer you, Lord,
10:53the bread of life and the chalice of salvation,
10:56giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
11:02Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
11:06we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
11:10Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world
11:12and bring her to the fullness of charity,
11:15together with Leo, our Pope, and Charles, our Bishop, and all the clergy.
11:20Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,
11:25and all who have died in your mercy.
11:28Welcome them into the light of your face.
11:31Have mercy on us all.
11:32We pray that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
11:35with Blessed Joseph, her spouse,
11:37with the blessed apostles and all the saints,
11:40who have pleased you throughout the ages,
11:42we may merit to be co-heirs to eternal life,
11:45and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
11:51Through him and with him and in him, O God, almighty Father,
11:55in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
11:58all glory and honor is yours forever and ever.
12:02Amen.
12:05At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching,
12:09we dare to say,
12:10Our Father, who art in heaven,
12:14hallowed be thy name.
12:15Thy kingdom come.
12:16Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
12:20Give us this day our daily bread,
12:22and forgive us our trespasses,
12:24as we forgive those who trespass against us.
12:27And lead us not into temptation,
12:30but deliver us from evil.
12:32Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil.
12:35Graciously grant peace in our days,
12:37that by the help of your mercy,
12:39we may be always free from sin
12:41and safe from all distress,
12:43as we await the blessed hope
12:45in the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
12:48For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours,
12:51now and forever.
12:52Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles,
12:55Peace I leave you, my peace I give you.
12:56Look not on our sins,
12:58but on the faith of your church,
13:00and graciously grant her peace and unity
13:02in accordance with your will,
13:04who live and reign forever and ever.
13:07Amen.
13:08The peace of the Lord be with you always,
13:10and with your spirit,
13:11let's offer each other a sign of peace.
13:14Peace be with you.
13:29Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.
13:32Have mercy on us.
13:34Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.
13:37Have mercy on us.
13:39Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.
13:42Grant us peace.
14:10Behold the Lamb of God,
14:12behold him who takes away the sins of the world.
14:15Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
14:18Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,
14:23but only say the word, and my soul shall be healed.
14:27My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
14:32I love you above all things,
14:33and I desire to receive you into my soul.
14:36Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
14:40come at least spiritually into my heart.
14:42I embrace you as if you were already there,
14:45and unite myself wholly to you.
14:48Never permit me to be separated from you.
14:52Let us pray.
14:56O God, who chose to foreshadow for us the heavenly Jerusalem
14:59through the sign of your church on earth,
15:03grant we pray that by our partaking of the sacrament,
15:07we may be made the temple of your grace,
15:10and may enter the dwelling place of your glory.
15:13Through Christ our Lord.
15:15Amen.
15:16Dear friends, thank you for your prayerful company today.
15:18Let's keep on praying for each other and for the rest of our diocese.
15:22The Lord be with you.
15:24And may Almighty God bless you,
15:26the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
