Transcript
00:14In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.
00:20We acknowledge our sins, but more importantly the compassion, the mercy, and the love of God.
00:27Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins,
00:36and lead us into healing and life everlasting.
00:40Let us pray.
00:43O God, who manifest your almighty power above all by pardoning and showing mercy, bestow with praise your grace abundantly
00:52upon us, and make those hastening to attain your promises heirs to the treasures of heaven.
01:00Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the Holy Spirit, God, forever and
01:07ever. Amen.
01:10A reading from the book of Job.
01:38Honest man, who fears God and shuns evil.
01:42Yes, Satan said, but Job is not God-fearing for nothing, is he?
01:48Have you not put a wall around him and his house and all his domain?
01:52You have blessed all he undertakes and his flocks from the countryside.
01:58But stretch out your hand and lay a finger on his possessions.
02:01I warrant you, he will curse you to your face.
02:06Very well, the Lord said to Satan.
02:08All he has is in your power, but keep your hands off his person.
02:14So Satan left the presence of the Lord.
02:17On the day when Job's sons and daughters were at their meal and drinking wine at their eldest brother's house,
02:25the messenger came to Job.
02:28Your oxen, he said, were at the plough and with the donkeys grazing at their side,
02:34when the Sabaeans swept down on them and carried them off.
02:40Your servants they put to the sword.
02:43I alone escaped to tell you.
02:45He had not finished speaking when another messenger arrived.
02:49The fire of God, he said, has fallen from the heavens and burned up all your sheep
02:55and all your shepherds too.
02:58I alone escaped to tell you.
03:00He had not finished speaking when another messenger arrived.
03:05The Chaldeans, he said.
03:07Three bands of them have raided your camels and made up with them.
03:12Your servants they have put to the sword.
03:14I alone escaped to tell you.
03:16He had not finished speaking when another messenger arrived.
03:20Your sons and daughters, he said, were at their meals and drinking wine at their eldest brother's house,
03:27when suddenly from the wilderness a gale swept up and they battered all four corners of the house
03:35which fell on the young people.
03:37They are dead.
03:38I alone escaped to tell you.
03:40Job rose and tore his down and shaved his head.
03:45Then falling to the ground, he worshipped and said,
03:48Naked I came from my mother's womb.
03:51Naked I shall return.
03:53The Lord gave.
03:54The Lord has taken away.
03:55Blessed be the name of the Lord.
03:57In all this misfortune, Job committed no sin,
04:01nor offered any insult to God.
04:05The word of the Lord.
04:07Thanks be to God.
04:09Lord, bend your ear and hear my prayer.
04:13Lord, bend your ear and hear my prayer.
04:16Lord, hear a cause that is just.
04:19Pay heed to my cry.
04:21Turn your ear to my prayer.
04:23No deceit is on my lips.
04:26Lord, bend your ear and hear my prayer.
04:29From you may my judgment come forth.
04:33Your eyes discern the truth.
04:36You search my heart and visit me by night.
04:39You test me and you find in me no wrong.
04:43Lord, bend your ear and hear my prayer.
04:47I am here and I call.
04:49You will hear me, O Lord.
04:51Turn your ear to me.
04:52Hear my words.
04:55Display your great love.
04:56You whose right hand saves your friends
04:59from those who rebel against them.
05:03Lord, bend your ear and hear my prayers.
05:09Alleluia, alleluia.
05:10The Son of Man came to serve
05:12and give his life as a ransom for all.
05:16Alleluia.
05:19The Lord be with you.
05:21A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke.
05:24Glory to you, O Lord.
05:27An argument started between the disciples
05:31about which of them was the greatest.
05:34Jesus knew what thoughts were going through their minds.
05:39And he took a little child and set him by his side
05:42and then said to them,
05:44Anyone who welcomes a little child in my name welcomes me.
05:49And anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.
05:54For the least among you, that is the one who is great.
05:59John spoke up.
06:01Master, he said, we saw a man casting out devils in your name.
06:06And because he is not with us, we tried to stop him.
06:11But Jesus said to him,
06:13You must not stop him.
06:15Anyone who is not against you is for you.
06:21The word, the gospel of the Lord.
06:24Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
06:29Fidelity and service.
06:32Faithfulness to God.
06:34Not just when it's easy and when things will go well.
06:38That's the amazing story of Job.
06:41How he stayed faithful despite all the challenges in his life.
06:46It's a symbolic story in many ways, of course.
06:50But it speaks a lot of truth.
06:53Then there's gospel.
06:55Service.
06:56Anyone who is,
06:57bigs themselves,
06:59who kids themselves,
07:02recognizing that
07:03forgetting that all and everything comes from God
07:07is kidding themselves.
07:09So we are called to trust,
07:11to trust,
07:12and to be able to say,
07:14Lord, your will be done.
07:16And to recognize
07:17that we find ourselves
07:19and we give ourselves.
07:40Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
07:42for to your goodness
07:44we have this bread to offer
07:45which earth has given human hands and made.
07:48It will become for us
07:49the bread of life.
07:51Blessed be God forever.
08:10Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
08:12for to your goodness we have this wine to offer,
08:15fruit of divine work of human hands.
08:18It will become our spiritual dream.
08:21Blessed be God forever.
08:33Let us pray, brothers and sisters,
08:35that my sacrifice and yours be acceptable
08:38to God, our almighty Father.
08:40May the Lord accept the sacrifice at our hands
08:43with the praise and glory of God's name
08:45for our good and the good of God's holy church.
08:50Grant us, O merciful God,
08:53that this, our offering, may find acceptance with you
08:56and that through it the wellspring of all blessings
08:59may be laid upon open before us.
09:03Through Christ our Lord.
09:05Amen.
09:08The Lord be with you.
09:11Lift up your hearts.
09:13Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
09:16It is truly right and just,
09:18our duty and our salvation,
09:20always and everywhere to give you thanks,
09:23Father most holy,
09:24to your beloved Son, Jesus Christ,
09:27your word to whom you made all things,
09:29whom you sent as our Savior and Redeemer,
09:32incarnate by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin.
09:36Fulfilling your will and gaining for you a holy people,
09:39he stretched out his hands as he endured his passion,
09:42so as to break the bonds of death
09:44and manifest the resurrection.
09:46And so, with the angels and all the saints,
09:49we declare your glory,
09:50as with one voice we acclaim,
09:53Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of hosts,
09:57heaven and earth are full of your glory,
09:59Hosanna in the highest.
10:01Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord,
10:05Hosanna in the highest.
10:07You are indeed holy, O Lord,
10:08the fount of all holiness.
10:10Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
10:12by sending down your Spirit upon them like the new Lord,
10:16so that they may become for us
10:18the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
10:21At the time he was betrayed
10:23and entered willingly into his passion,
10:25he took bread,
10:27and giving thanks, broke it
10:28and gave it to his disciples, saying,
10:32Take this, all of you, and eat of it,
10:34for this is my body,
10:35which will be given up for you.
10:43In a similar way, when supper was ended,
10:47he took the chalice,
10:48and once more giving thanks,
10:50he gave it to his disciples,
10:52saying, Take this, all of you,
10:54and drink from it,
10:55for this is the chalice of my blood,
10:58the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
11:01which will be pulled out for you
11:03and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
11:07Do this in memory of me.
11:15The mystery of faith.
11:18We proclaim your death, O Lord,
11:21and profess your resurrection
11:24until you come again.
11:30Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial
11:32of his death and resurrection,
11:34we offer you, Lord, the bread of life
11:36and the chalice of salvation,
11:38giving thanks that you've held us worthy
11:40to be in your presence and minister to you.
11:44Humbly we pray that,
11:46partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
11:48we may be gathered into one
11:50by the Holy Spirit.
11:52Remember, Lord, your church,
11:54spread throughout the world,
11:55and bring her to the fullness of charity,
11:57together with Leo, our Pope,
12:00me, your worthy servant,
12:01and all the clergy.
12:04Remember also our brothers and sisters
12:06who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection
12:09and all who have died in your mercy.
12:11Welcome them into the light of your face.
12:15Have mercy on us all, we pray,
12:17that with the blessed Virgin Mary,
12:19Mother of God,
12:19blessed Joseph, her spouse,
12:21with the blessed apostles,
12:23and all the saints,
12:24who have pleased you throughout the ages,
12:26we may merit to be coerced to eternal life,
12:29and may praise and glorify you
12:31through your Son, Jesus Christ.
12:36Through him and with him and in him,
12:39O God Almighty, Father,
12:40in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
12:42all glory and honour is yours
12:44for ever and ever.
12:45Amen.
12:47At the Saviour's command
12:48and formed by divine teaching,
12:50we dare to say,
12:52Our Father, who art in heaven,
12:54hallowed be thy name,
12:55thy kingdom come,
12:56thy will be done on earth
12:58as it is in heaven.
13:00Give us this day our daily bread
13:02and forgive us our trespasses
13:04as we forgive those who trespass against us
13:07and lead us not into temptation,
13:10but deliver us from evil.
13:12Deliver us, Lord, we pray,
13:13from every evil.
13:15Graciously grant peace in our days
13:17that by the help of your mercy
13:18we may be always free from sin
13:21and safe from all distress
13:22as we await the blessed hope
13:24and the coming of our Saviour,
13:26Jesus Christ.
13:28For the kingdom, the power,
13:30and the glory are yours,
13:31now and forever.
13:33Lord Jesus Christ,
13:34who said to your apostles,
13:36Peace I leave you,
13:37my peace I give you,
13:38look not on our sins,
13:40but on the faith of your church,
13:41and graciously grant her peace and unity
13:44in accordance with your will,
13:46who live and reign forever and ever.
13:48Amen.
13:49The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ
13:51be with you always.
13:52Let us offer each other a sign of peace.
13:55Peace be with you all.
13:58Lamb of God,
13:59you take away the sins of the world.
14:01Have mercy on us.
14:03Lamb of God,
14:04you take away the sins of the world.
14:07Have mercy on us.
14:09Lamb of God,
14:10you take away the sins of the world.
14:12Grant us peace.
14:28Behold the Lamb of God,
14:29who takes away the sins of the world.
14:31Happy are those who are called
14:33to the supper of the Lamb.
14:35Lord, I am not worthy,
14:36you should enter under my roof,
14:38but only say the word,
14:40and my soul shall be healed.
14:42My Jesus,
14:44I believe that you are present
14:45in the most blessed sacrament.
14:47I love you above all things,
14:49and I desire to receive you into my soul.
14:52Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
14:56comely spiritually into my heart,
14:58I embrace you as if you were already there,
15:01and unite myself wholly to you.
15:04Never permit me to be separated from you.
15:07Amen.
15:08Let us pray.
15:10May this heavenly mystery,
15:12O Lord,
15:13restore us in mind and body,
15:14that we may be coercing glory with Christ,
15:18whose suffering we are united,
15:22whenever we proclaim his death,
15:24who lives and reigns forever and ever.
15:27Amen.
15:27The Lord be with you.
15:29And may the peace and the blessing
15:30of the Father and of the Son
15:32and of the Holy Spirit come upon you
15:34and remain always with you.
15:35Let us go and proclaim the gospel by our lives.
15:39Thanks be to God.
15:40May God bless your name.
15:42May God bless your name.
