Transcript
00:14In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.
00:19We acknowledge our sins on this feast of St. Augustine, the man who went to his great conversion, and remember
00:26God's healing love for us.
00:28We forgive our sins, Lord, have mercy. We call us away from confusion into love. Your love is bigger than
00:37anything, Lord, have mercy.
00:39May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into healing and life everlasting.
00:48Let us pray.
00:50Renew in your church, we pray, O Lord, the spirit with which you endowed your Bishop St. Augustine, that filled
00:57with the same spirit, we may thirst for you, the soul, fountain of true wisdom, and seek you, the author
01:04of heavenly love.
01:05To our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the eulogy of the Holy Spirit,
01:12God, for ever and ever. Amen.
01:18A reading from the first letter of St. John.
01:21My dear people, let us love one another, since love comes from God, and everyone who loves is begotten by
01:28God and knows God.
01:31Anyone who fails to love can never have known God, because God is love.
01:38God's love for us was revealed when God sent into the world his only Son, so that we could have
01:45life through him.
01:47This is the love I meant, not our love for God, but God's love for us, when he sent his
01:54Son to be the sacrifice that takes our sins away.
01:59My dear people, since God has loved us so much, we too should love one another.
02:05No one has ever seen God, but as long as we love one another, God will live in us, and
02:12his love will be complete in us.
02:15We have known that we are living in him, we can know that we are living in him, and he
02:22is living in us, because he lets us share his spirit.
02:26We are self-serve so, and we testify that the Father sent his Son as Saviour of the world.
02:35If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them, and they in God.
02:43We ourselves have known and put our faith in God's love towards ourselves.
02:49God is love, and anyone who lives in love lives in God, and God lives in them.
02:58The word of the Lord, thanks be to God.
03:02Lord, teach me your decrees.
03:05How shall the young remain sinless?
03:07By obeying your word.
03:09I have sought you with all my heart.
03:12Let me not stray from your commands.
03:15Lord, teach me your decrees.
03:18I treasure your promise in my heart,
03:21lest I sin against you.
03:23Blessed are you, O Lord.
03:25Teach me your statutes.
03:27Lord, teach me your decrees.
03:30With my tongue I have recounted the decrees of your lips.
03:34I rejoice to do your will,
03:37as though all riches were mine.
03:41Lord, teach me your decrees.
03:45Alleluia, alleluia.
03:47We have one Father, your Father in heaven.
03:50We have one Teacher, the Lord Jesus Christ.
03:53Alleluia.
03:57The Lord be with you.
03:59A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
04:03Glory to you, O Lord.
04:05Jesus said to his disciples,
04:09You must not allow yourselves to be called Rabbi,
04:13since you have only one Master,
04:15and you are all brothers and sisters.
04:18You must call no one on earth your Father,
04:22since you have only one Father,
04:23and he is in heaven.
04:25Nor must you allow yourselves to be called teachers,
04:28for you have only one teacher in Christ.
04:32The greatest among you must be your servant.
04:37Anyone who exalts themselves will be humbled,
04:40and anyone who humbles themselves will be exalted.
04:46The Gospel of the Lord.
04:49Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
04:54The great St. Augustine wasn't always so great in his living,
05:00and it's the grace of God that called him to a great conversion.
05:04But then, when he did become converted,
05:07he put all his love and energy into the service of God.
05:11A great reminder that we can all be healed,
05:15and we can all make fresh starts,
05:17and we can all come closer to God.
05:20A great reminder that we can all be born again,
05:24that we don't have to be prisoners of the past,
05:26that we can be refreshed and renewed.
05:50Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
05:52for to your goodness we have this bread to offer,
05:55which earth has given human hands and made.
05:57It will become for us the bread of life.
06:00Blessed be God forever.
06:19Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
06:21for to your goodness we have this wine to offer,
06:24fruit of divine work of human hands.
06:26It will become our spiritual dream.
06:29Blessed be God forever.
06:37Let us pray, brothers and sisters,
06:39that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable
06:41to God, our Almighty Father.
06:44May the Lord accept this sacrifice at our hands
06:46for the praise and glory of God's name.
06:49for our good and the good of God's Holy Church.
06:54Renew in your church, we pray, O Lord,
06:57the spirit with which you endowed your Bishop,
07:00St. Augustine,
07:01that filled with the same spirit,
07:03we may thirst for you,
07:05this sole fountain of true wisdom,
07:07and seek you.
07:11Celebrating the memorial of our salvation,
07:14we happily beseech your mercy, O Lord,
07:17that the sacrament of your loving kindness
07:19may be for us the sign of unity
07:21and the bond of charity.
07:23Through Christ our Lord.
07:25Amen.
07:26The Lord be with you.
07:28Lift up your heart.
07:30Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God.
07:36It is truly right and just,
07:38our duty and our salvation,
07:40always and everywhere,
07:42to give you thanks,
07:42Lord,
07:43Lord,
07:44Holy Father,
07:44Almighty,
07:45and eternal God,
07:46through Christ our Lord.
07:48For in the marvelous confession of your saints,
07:51you make your church fruitful,
07:53with strength ever new,
07:54and offer us sure signs of your love.
07:57And that your saving mysteries may be fulfilled,
08:01their great example lends us courage.
08:04Their fervent prayers sustain us in all we do.
08:08And so,
08:09Lord,
08:09with all the angels and saints,
08:11we too give you thanks.
08:12As in exaltation,
08:14we are praying,
08:15Holy,
08:16Holy,
08:17Holy Lord,
08:17God of hosts,
08:19heaven and earth are full of your glory.
08:21Hosanna in the highest.
08:24Blessed is he who comes,
08:25in the name of the Lord,
08:27Hosanna in the highest.
08:30You are indeed holy,
08:31O Lord,
08:31the fount of all holiness.
08:33Make holy,
08:34therefore these gifts we pray,
08:36by sending down your spirit upon them,
08:38like the dewfall,
08:39so they may become for us,
08:41the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
08:44At the time he was betrayed,
08:46and entered willingly into his passion,
08:49he took bread,
08:50and giving thanks,
08:51broke it,
08:52and gave it to his disciples,
08:55saying,
08:56Take this, all of you,
08:57and eat of it,
08:58for this is my body,
09:00which will be given up for you.
09:07In a similar way,
09:09when supper was ended,
09:10he took the chalice,
09:12and once more giving thanks,
09:14he gave it to his disciples,
09:16saying,
09:17Take this, all of you,
09:18and drink from it,
09:19for this is the chalice of my blood,
09:21the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
09:24which will be poured out for you,
09:27and for many,
09:27for the forgiveness of sins.
09:30Do this in memory of me.
09:38In mystery of faith,
09:40save us,
09:42Saviour of the world,
09:43for by your cross and resurrection,
09:46you have set us free.
09:48Therefore,
09:49as we celebrate the memorial
09:50of his death and resurrection,
09:53we offer you, Lord,
09:55the bread of life,
09:56and the chalice of salvation,
09:58giving thanks that you've held us worthy
10:01to be in your presence
10:02and minister to you.
10:05Humbly we pray,
10:06that partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
10:09we may be gathered into one
10:10by the Holy Spirit.
10:13Remember, Lord,
10:14your church spread throughout the world
10:16and bring her to the fullness of charity,
10:19together with Leo, our Pope,
10:21me, your unworthy servant,
10:23and all the clergy.
10:26Remember also our brothers and sisters
10:28who have fallen asleep
10:30in the hope of the resurrection,
10:32and all who have died in your mercy.
10:36Welcome them into the light of your face.
10:39Have mercy on us all,

10:42that with the blessed Virgin Mary,
10:44Mother of God,

10:46her spouse,

10:49and all the saints
10:50who have pleased you throughout the ages,
10:53we may, through your grace,
10:54merit to be coerced to eternal life,
10:57and may praise and glorify you
11:00through your Son,
11:01Jesus Christ.
11:05Through him and with him
11:07and in him,
11:07O God, Almighty Father,
11:09in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
11:11all glory and honour is yours
11:13for ever and ever.
11:15Amen.
11:18At the Saviour's command,
11:20informed by divine teaching,
11:21we dare to say,
11:23Our Father,
11:24who art in heaven,
11:26hallowed be thy name,
11:28thy kingdom come,
11:30thy will be done on earth
11:32as it is in heaven.
11:33Give us this day our daily bread,
11:36and forgive us our trespasses,
11:38as we forgive those
11:40who trespass against us.
11:42And lead us not into temptation,
11:44but deliver us from evil.
11:46Deliver us, Lord,
11:47we pray,
11:48from every evil.
11:49Graciously grant peace
11:50in our days,
11:51that by the help of your mercy,
11:53we may be always free from sin
11:55and safe from all distress,
11:57as we await the blessed hope
