00:14In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
00:18Peace be with you.
00:20Today is the Feast of Saint Clair, very much inspired by Saint Francis,
00:24who gave her life, an outrageous life, in the life of simplicity and contemplation and prayer.
00:31So we hear our own call to prayer and contemplation.
00:37You speak to us in the depths of our heart, Lord have mercy.
00:41Lord have mercy.
00:42You call us to simplicity of life, Christ have mercy.
00:46Christ have mercy.
00:47You call us to put first things first, to seek the kingdom of God before all else.
00:53Lord have mercy.
00:55Lord have mercy.
00:55May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and lead us into healing and life everlasting.
01:02Amen.
01:04O God, who in your mercy led Saint Clair to a love of poverty, grant through her intercession
01:11that following Christ in poverty of spirit, we may merit to contemplate you one day in the heavenly kingdom.
01:21To our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the Holy Spirit, God, forever and
01:28ever.
01:30A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Philippians.
01:35I believe nothing can happen that will outweigh the supreme advantage of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord.
01:44For him, I have accepted the loss of everything and I look on everything as so much rubbish if only
01:52I can have Christ and be given a place in him.
01:57I am no longer trying for perfection by my own efforts, the perfection that comes from the law, but I
02:05want only the perfection that comes through faith in Christ and is from God and based on faith.
02:14All I want is to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and to share his sufferings by reproducing
02:23the pattern of his death.
02:25That is why I can hope to take my place in the resurrection of the dead.
02:31Not that I have become perfect yet, I have not yet won, but I am still running, trying to capture
02:38the prize for which Christ Jesus captured me.
02:42I can assure you, my brothers, I am far from thinking that I have already won.
02:49All I can say is that I forget the past and I strain ahead for it is still to come.
02:57I am racing for the finish, for the prize to which God calls us upwards to receive in Christ Jesus.
03:07The word of the Lord.
03:09Thanks be to God.
03:10You are my inheritance, O Lord.
03:13You are my inheritance, O Lord.
03:15Preserve me, God.
03:16I take refuge in you.
03:17I say to the Lord, you are my God.
03:20O Lord, it is you who are my portion and cup.
03:23It is you yourself who are my prize.
03:26You are my inheritance, O Lord.
03:29I will bless the Lord who gives me counsel, who even at right directs my heart.
03:34I keep the Lord ever in my sight.
03:36Since he is at my right hand, I shall stand firm.
03:40You are my inheritance, O Lord.
03:43You will show me the path of life, the fullness of joy in your presence.
03:48At your right hand, happiness forever.
03:51You are my inheritance, O Lord.
03:55Alleluia, alleluia.
03:57Alleluia, alleluia.
03:57Happy to pour in spirit.
03:58The kingdom of heaven is theirs.
04:00Alleluia.
04:04The Lord be with you.
04:06A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
04:13Peter spoke to Jesus.
04:15What about us, he said?
04:17We have left everything in front of you.
04:21What are we to have then?
04:24Jesus said to him,
04:26I tell you solemnly, when all is made new and the Son of Man sits on his throne of glory,
04:33you will yourself sit on twelve thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.
04:38And everyone who has left houses, sisters, father, mother, children or land, for the sake of my name, will be
04:49repaid a hundred times over and also inherit eternal life.
04:56The gospel of the Lord.
04:59That's the name of Jesus Christ.
05:03Jesus noted it's not just eternal life, but also in this world.
05:07There is a certain richness and depth, which is beyond riches and fame and popularity and all those other things.
05:16It is the harmony with God.
05:20St. Clair had this great love relationship with Jesus, with God.
05:25One which we are all called to.
05:28And Jesus reminds us about the uncomplicatedness that we are called to.
05:33The simplicity.
05:35The clarity.
05:36He said yes, we mean yes, and no, and we mean no.
05:40To have clarity, not to be stuck in between or mediocrity.
05:45At the same time St. Paul reminds us, of course, that we are on a journey.
05:49No one is perfect.
05:50So while we keep aiming to grow, we keep aiming to say yes to God with our heart, we also
05:57need to remember the gentleness and healing power of God that keeps nurturing us and calling us to grow.
06:03We can be harsh judges of ourselves.
06:07God is bigger than our consciousness.
06:10So that simplicity that comes from yes, a continual yes and a clarity of commitment to the grace of God.
06:24God.
06:25The Lord has given us a prayer.
06:25Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation.
06:27For to your goodness we have this bread to offer, which our church has given you when hands have made.
06:32It will become for us the bread of life.
06:35Blessed be for us, God.
06:58Blessed are you, Lord God, of all creation, for to your goodness we have this wine to offer,
07:03fruit of the divine work of human hands. It will become our spiritual dream.
07:16Let us pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, our Almighty Father.
07:33Amen.
07:42We bring the offerings of our devotion to be consecrated by you, O Lord, in commemoration of blessed Clare.
07:50For by the consolation you give us in this life, you show that we should not lose hope of what
07:57is promised for eternity.
07:59Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
08:02The Lord be with you. Lift up your hearts. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
08:10It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, Holy
08:17Father, Almighty and eternal God.
08:19For in the saints who consecrated themselves to Christ for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven, it is right
08:26to celebrate the wonders of your providence,
08:29by which you call human nature back to its original holiness, and bring it to experience on this earth the
08:37gift you promised in the new world to come.
08:40And so, with all the angels and saints, we praise you, as without end we acclaim, Holy, Holy, Holy Lord,
08:49God of hosts,
08:50heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.
08:55Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
09:01You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
09:05Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,
09:11so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:17At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread,
09:23and giving thanks, broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:27Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for
09:33you.
09:40In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice.
09:44And once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:50Take this, all of you, and eat from it, for this is the chalice of my blood,
09:55the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be pulled out for you and for many,
10:01for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me.
10:13The mystery of faith.
10:16When we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again.
10:23In memory of his death.
10:30Therefore, we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection.
10:34We offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation,
10:44giving thanks that you've held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
10:50Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
10:54we may be guided into one by the Holy Spirit.
10:58Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world
11:01and bring her to the fullness of charity.
11:04Together with Leo, our Pope, meet your worthy servant and all the clergy.
11:10Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection
11:16and all who have died in your mercy.
11:20Welcome them into the light of your face.
11:24Have mercy on us all, we pray,
11:27that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
11:30Blessed Joseph, her spouse,
11:32with the Blessed Apostles, Blessed Claire,
11:34and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages,
11:39we may merit to be coerced to eternal life
11:43and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
11:50Through him and with him and in him, O God Almighty Father,
11:54in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honour is yours forever and ever.
11:59Amen.
12:01At the Saviour's command and formed by divine teaching,
12:04we dare to say,
12:06Our Father, who art in heaven,
12:09hallowed be thy name,
12:11thy kingdom come,
12:12thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
12:16Give us this day our daily bread
12:18and forgive us our trespasses
12:20as we forgive those who trespass against us
12:23and lead us not into temptation,
12:26but deliver us from evil.
12:28Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil,
12:31graciously grant peace in our days
12:33that by the help of your mercy
12:35we may be always free from sin
12:37and safe from all distress
12:38as we await the blessed hope
12:41and the coming of our Saviour,
12:43Jesus Christ.
12:44Amen.
12:47Now and forever.
12:49Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles,
12:52Peace I leave you, my peace I give you.
12:54Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church
12:58and graciously grant her peace and unity
13:00in accordance with your will,
13:02who live and reign forever and ever.
13:05Amen.
13:05The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always,
13:09and as of each other a sign of peace.
13:12Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,
13:17have mercy on us.
13:19Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,
13:23have mercy on us.
13:24Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,
13:28grant us peace.
13:41Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world,
13:45happy are those who are called to the supper of the Lamb.
13:48Lord, I am not worthy you should enter under my roof,
13:51but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
13:55My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
14:00I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul.
14:04Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
14:08commonly, spiritually, into my heart,
14:10I embrace you as if you were already there,
14:13and unite myself wholly to you.
14:16Never permit me to be separated from you.
14:19Amen.
14:20Let us pray.
14:24Renewed, O Lord,
14:26we wellsprings of salvation,
14:28we humbly entreat you
14:30that through the intercession of blessed Clare,
14:34holding more closely day by day to Christ,
14:37we may merit to be coerced in this kingdom of grace,
14:41who lives and reigns forever and ever.
14:44The Lord be with you.
14:46And may the peace and the blessing of the Father,
14:48and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit come upon you,
14:51and remain always with you.
14:52Amen.
14:53Let us go and proclaim the gospel by our lives.
14:56God bless your day.
14:58Amen.
15:05Thank you for disposition.hanes
