00:14In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, the Lord be with you.
00:21Good day today, brothers and sisters, as we celebrate the solemnity of St. Mary of the
00:26Cross MacKillop, our first Australian saint. Of course, we do not forget to offer in this Mass also
00:32your own prayers and petitions. Dear brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins and so
00:38prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries. You were sent to heal the contrite of heart,
00:47Lord, have mercy. You came to call sinners, Christ, have mercy. You are seated at the right hand of
00:56the Father to intercede for us, Lord, have mercy. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our
01:04sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people
01:12of goodwill. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your
01:19great glory. Lord God, Heavenly King, O God Almighty Father, Lord Jesus Christ, only begotten Son,
01:28Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on
01:34us.
01:34You take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer. You are seated at the right hand of the
01:40Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are
01:46the
01:46Most High Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen. Let us pray.
01:57O God, source of all goodness, who have shown us in Saint Mary, a woman of faith living by the
02:03power of
02:04the cross. Teach us, we pray by her example, to live the gospel in changing times, and to respect
02:11and defend the human dignity of all in our land. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives
02:19and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
02:28A reading from the first book of Kings.
02:32And then the word of the Lord came to Elijah up and go to Zarephath, a Sidonian town, and
02:39stay there. I have ordered a widow there to give you food. So he went off to Sidon. And
02:47when he reached the city gate, there was a widow gathering sticks. Addressing her, he said,
02:52Please bring a little water in a vessel for me to drink. She was setting off to bring it
02:59when he called after her. Please, he said, bring me a scrap of bread in your hand. As
03:06the Lord your God lives, she replied, I have no baked bread, but only a handful of meal in
03:11a jar and a little oil in a jug. I am just gathering a stick or two to go and
03:18prepare this
03:18for myself and my son to eat. And then we shall die. But Elijah said to her, Do not
03:25be afraid. Go and do as you have said. But first make a little scone of it for me and
03:32bring it to me. And then make some for yourself and for your son. For thus the Lord speaks,
03:38the God of Israel. Jire of meal shall not be spent. Jug of oil shall not be emptied. Before
03:47the day when the Lord sends rain on the face of the earth. The woman went and did as Elijah
03:54told her, and they ate the food. She, himself, and her son. The jar of meal was not spent,
04:01nor the jug of oil emptied, just as the Lord had foretold through Elijah.
04:07The Word of the Lord.
04:12My soul clings to you, your right hand holds me fast. My soul clings to you, your right hand holds
04:19me fast.
04:20O God, you are my God, for you I long. For you my soul is thirsting. My body pines for
04:26you like a dry,
04:27weary land without water. My soul clings to you, your right hand holds me fast. So I gaze on you
04:35in the
04:35sanctuary to see your strength and your glory. For your love is better than life. My lips will speak
04:42your praise. My soul clings to you, your right hand holds me fast. So I will bless you all my
04:48life.
04:49In your name I will lift up my hands. My soul shall be filled as with a banquet. My mouth
04:54shall praise you
04:55with joy. My soul clings to you, your right hand holds me fast. On my bed I remember you. On
05:03you I muse
05:04through the night. For you have been my help. In the shadow of your wings I rejoice. My soul clings
05:11to you, your right hand holds me fast. A reading from the letter of St. Paul to the Colossians.
05:19You are God's chosen race, his saints. He loves you, and you should be clothed in sincere compassion,
05:28in kindness and humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with one another,
05:35forgive each other as soon as a quarrel begins. The Lord has forgiven you. Now you must do the same.
05:43Over all these clothes to keep them together and complete them, put on love.
05:50And may the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it is for this that you were called
05:56together as parts of one body. Always be thankful. Let the message of Christ in all its richness find a
06:05home with you. Teach each other and advise each other in all wisdom. With gratitude in your hearts,
06:12sing psalms and hymns, and inspired songs to God. And never say or do anything except in the name of
06:20the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. The Word of the Lord.
06:30Alleluia! Alleluia! Many women were there by the cross, watching from a distance,
06:35the same women who had followed Jesus and looked after him. Alleluia!
06:44The Lord be with you. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
06:53Jesus said to his disciples, That is why I am telling you not to worry about your life
06:59and what you are to eat, but about your body and how you are to clothe it.
07:05Surely life means more than food and the body more than clothing.
07:10Look at the birds in the sky. They do not sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly
07:16Father
07:17feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they are? Can any of you, for all his worrying, add
07:25one
07:25single cubit to his span of life? And why worry about clothing? Think of the flowers growing in the fields.
07:33They never have to work or spin. Yet I assure you that not even Solomon in all his regalia was
07:41robed
07:41like one of these. Now if that is how God clothes the grass in the field which is here today
07:47and thrown
07:48into the furnace tomorrow, will he not much more look after you, you men of little faith? So do not
07:56worry. Do not say, What are we to eat? What are we to drink? How are we to be clothed?
08:01It is the pagans
08:03who set their hearts on all these things. Your heavenly Father knows you need them all. Set your
08:11hearts on his kingdom first and on his righteousness, and all these other things will be given you as
08:18well. So do not worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough
08:26trouble of its own. The Gospel of the Lord.
08:35Because today is a solemnity, dear friends, the church invites us to renew and to profess the
08:41faith which we have received from our baptism.
08:44I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son,
08:50our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
08:57was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again from the
09:03dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty.
09:09From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy
09:15Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
09:21and life everlasting. Amen.
09:39Amen.
09:41Amen.
10:31Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father.
10:43As you gather us, O God, at your holy altar on this feast of St. Mary of the Cross, grant
10:49we pray through her intercession that what we offer with praise and petition may strengthen us all in charity and
10:56faith through Christ our Lord.
11:00The Lord be with you and with your spirit. Lift up your hearts. Lift them up to the Lord.
11:05Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just.
11:09It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, Holy
11:16Father, Almighty and Eternal God.
11:19For in the saints who consecrated themselves to Christ for the sake of the kingdom of heaven, it is right
11:25to celebrate the wonders of your providence, by which you call human nature back to its original holiness, and bring
11:33it to experience on this earth, the gifts you promise in the new world to come.
11:37And so, with all the angels and saints, we praise you, as without end we acclaim, Holy, Holy, Holy Lord,
11:47God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory.
11:51Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
12:01You are indeed holy, O Lord, a fount of all holiness. Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending
12:08down your spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that they may become for us the body and blood of
12:14our Lord Jesus Christ.
12:17At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread, and giving thanks, broke it,
12:24and gave it to his disciples, saying,
12:27Take this all of you, and eat off it, for this is my body, which will be given up for
12:36you.
13:02In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and once more giving thanks, he gave it
13:08to his disciples, saying,
13:10Take this all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of
13:16the new and eternal covenant,
13:18which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of
13:25me.
14:05the mystery of faith when we eat this bread and drink this cup
14:09we proclaim your death O Lord until you come again
14:14therefore as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection
14:17we offer you Lord the bread of life and the chalice of salvation
14:21giving thanks that you have held us ready to be in your presence
14:25and minister to you humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ
14:30we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit
14:35remember Lord your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the
14:39fullness of charity together with our Pope and Charles our
14:42Bishop and all the clergy remember also our brothers and sisters who
14:47have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection and all who have died in
14:51your mercy welcome them into the light of your face
14:55have mercy on us all we pray that with the blessed Virgin Mary
14:59mother of God and blessed Joseph her spouse
15:03with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the
15:07ages
15:07you may marry to be co-heirs to eternal life and may praise and glorify you
15:12through your son Jesus Christ
15:17through him and with him and in him O God Almighty Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit
15:24all glory and honor is yours forever and ever
15:28amen
15:33at the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching we dare to say
15:38our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name
15:43thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven

16:06that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress

16:24look not on our sins but on the faith of your church
16:28and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will who live and reign
16:33forever and ever the peace of the Lord be with you always

17:39blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb
17:42Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof
17:46but only say the word and my soul shall be healed
17:50my Jesus I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament
17:55I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul
18:00since I cannot now receive you sacramentally
18:03come at least spiritually into my heart
