00:00We were just talking in a timeout here about the Eagles,
00:02and Kevin Petula, what a bad offensive coordinator he was a year ago.
00:07But here they do it again.
00:08They go down that same lane with an inexperienced play caller.
00:13Why will this year be different than a year ago
00:16when Nick Sirianni, the head coach, is going down the same lane?
00:21I mean, this is their fifth offensive coordinator in five years.
00:24And do I think they're Super Bowl? No.
00:25But I think they're better than last year's team that, you know,
00:28basically bailed out in the first round of the NFL playoffs for San Francisco.
00:32Mannion is new, but what I like about that is that he runs behind center offense.
00:38And if you've looked at the Eagles' offense, especially in Petula,
00:42it was shotgun left, shotgun right.
00:43There was no motions. There was no nothing.
00:45You knew what the Eagles were going to do before they knew what they were going to do.
00:48Under center, Saquon Barkley averages 5.3 yards per carry.
00:52He did not average that last year.
00:53The Saquon Barkley of 2024 and 2025, completely different because of the offense.
00:59Different offensive run.
01:00The explosive plays weren't there.
01:02The home run hitting.
01:03He was getting hit behind the line of scrimmage.
01:05And the snuff plays a lot more than the year before.
01:08Put Jalen Hurts behind center every once in a while
01:10and get Saquon that burst right through there.
01:13Open up the offense, and all of a sudden it's a different story.
01:16Do I think it's 2024 caliber? No.
01:19But I think they will be better in 2025, and I'm really interested to see that Cowboys-Eagles battle for
01:24that division.
01:26Boy, I'll tell you, I heard a lot of barking coming out of Dallas this past week.
01:30I mean, you know what?
01:32I'm going to say, David, once again, I know, right?
01:34I mean, you know, you need to start doing some barking in January and February,
01:39not in July and August here.
01:42I mean, Cowboys 2026 will be what, in your opinion?
01:46I think they make the playoffs.
01:48This is all assuming health is not a problem and Dak stays healthy.
01:52They have, Dan.
01:53They have the weapons.
01:54You got Javante Williams.
01:56You got CeeDee Lamb.
01:57You got Pickens.
01:58You have the weapons.
01:58They improved the defense, bringing in Gary like they have the weapons to win that division.
02:04It's just what's going to happen.
02:06It's what's – and I said this last year, not expecting Dak to get injured.
02:09I thought that from a betting value, for the first time in a decade, the Cowboys had betting value
02:16because everybody is, all right, they're just – enough talk about the Cowboys.
02:19They're going to disappoint.
02:20And the number was seven and a half for the win total.
02:22I went over it, which may have hit had they not gotten injuries.
02:26But you look at it this year, can they win that division?
02:30I mean, they can win the division if the Eagles played the way they played last year
02:33because Dallas was right there without Dak last year.
02:36If healthy, there's no reason why this team can't win the division and get a top-four seed.
02:42It's just you're just waiting for that other shoe to drop.
02:45Statistically speaking, there is value on them finally because nobody thinks they're going to get done.
02:49And I don't want to throw your canes under the bus, but Dallas, Texas, Miami,
02:55they're all very big public programs that August is amazing.
03:00They're the best August teams in football.
03:02The Hurricanes delivered last year.
03:04Texas has yet to deliver, and Dallas has yet to deliver.
03:08So those big-name programs, USC is another one.
03:11I went on Sportsline last week, and they asked me, give me one team not named Indiana, Ohio State,
03:17and Oregon that could make the playoff out of the Big Ten.
03:19And the last thing I wanted to do was say USC.
03:23But I said USC because the talent's there and the coaching's there.
03:27But what's going to prevent it, they step in their own step in their own.
03:33Yeah, I mean, talk about some of the most delusional fan bases of all time.
03:38University of Miami has to be up there with the Cowboys there.
