00:00You have a spot where LeGree saying, hey, I'm going to go back to Oregon State.
00:06If we wanted to call that a one-off, right, Oregon State, relatively speaking,
00:12are so small compared to the success that LeGree is having.
00:16Like, LeGree is actually, as a freshman, going to challenge Jeremiah Smith
00:21for the Bolitnikoff, despite the fact that Jeremiah Smith is the Heisman favorite.
00:25Okay, but then Calandria announces, I'm coming back to Nebraska.
00:32And now, in my opinion, the Mississippi State faithful, Dave,
00:39have to be waiting for the official announcement that Kamario Taylor has re-signed.
00:45Like, I know it's crazy that that's the landscape we're in,
00:47but if we don't get a Kamario Taylor, I'm coming back, you know,
00:53before this college football season's over,
00:55if I were a Mississippi State fan, I'd start to worry a little bit.
00:59Yeah, this is the new landscape of these players signing contracts every single year
01:04in the NIL space, and the fact that they can actually get just as much money coming back
01:08as they can for going to the NFL.
01:10We've seen that with the quarterbacks.
01:12The quarterback, you know, this year, the quarterback pool for the NFL draft wasn't good
01:16because everybody went back to school, and it could happen again.
01:18And, you know, Kamario has two different paths.
01:20He could go NFL, or he could go to a better school than Mississippi State
01:24because, call it what it is, Mississippi State is a bottom feeder SEC team,
01:30and you want to get to a position where you can contend that I know they were undefeated,
01:35and they were top 15 in the country,
01:37and you could see the alarms that were yelling fraud alert on it,
01:40and then their defense is as bad as we expected, and Taylor got injured.
01:45These players are looking at college as if it's the NFL,
01:50and they're playing for their next contract every single year.
01:52And if I was a Mississippi State fan, I would absolutely be worried
01:56because that's the way college football is going.
01:58If you're a Vandy or a Mississippi State or you're a Purdue or you're an NC State,
02:04you're not going to keep your players because they're going to go
02:07and get more money at better schools.
02:09That's just what this has turned into with NIL.
02:13Yeah, it's – and by the way, I want to be very clear.
02:15I'm not sat here rooting – because some people are like,
02:20oh, I'll get Kamario out of Mississippi State.
02:21No, I actually think the Kamario stuff's awesome.
02:25He's from Mississippi.
02:27You know, he had – I don't remember.
02:28It was after one of their wins, but it was like, you know,
02:31best kids in the state come to state kind of thing.
02:34And the fact that he went and tried to play in the OU game.
02:37Like, I have every reason to believe that Kamario Taylor
02:40will be the Mississippi State quarterback next season.
02:43I'm just saying that we're now in this, you know, new landscape
02:45where we wait and see.
02:46And I guess I should probably mention – I should probably mention
02:49that in this game is going to be one of the most fascinating things
02:52of every indication is the Manning family wants Arch
02:56to go back to school next year because they believe that him being in school
02:59for as long as possible is best for his pro development.
03:01How is Arch going to thread the needle of playing well enough
03:05to keep the Texas job but not so well that he obviously should leave for the NFL?
03:13That is another very interesting thing for us to watch here, Dave.
03:17And option three, he goes back to college and he doesn't go back to Texas
03:22and maybe he goes somewhere else.
03:24Maybe, you know, Arch goes to Ole Miss, which has a history with the Mannings,
03:32or maybe he goes somewhere else.
03:33And obviously it's tough to find somewhere better than Texas
03:36or deeper money than Texas.
03:38But Arch isn't in this for the money because he's going to get it in the NFL.
03:43But are they working things out in Texas?
03:46Is he the right man for that job?
03:47And option three would be to go somewhere else,
03:49which is also a factor with it's Arch going to play well enough
03:53that Texas says we need to have him back,
03:57which goes towards the whole threading the needle philosophy of,
04:00I think he'll go back and I think he'll be back in Texas next year.
