00:00A quick football take for you, Tyrone, since you're down near Philadelphia.
00:04I'm sure you saw this by now.
00:05Nick Sirianni was asked about the future of A.J. Brown in Philadelphia.
00:10And he said, of course, would we like A.J. Brown to be back?
00:13Yes.
00:13Do we like A.J. Brown?
00:15Yes.
00:15Is A.J. Brown a great player?
00:17Yes.
00:17Can I guarantee that he's coming back?
00:20No.
00:21Which, I mean, seems like everyone, including A.J. Brown, is telling you that A.J. Brown
00:25is not coming back to be a Philadelphia Eagle.
00:28We know that the Patriots have been rumored to have offered a second-round pick and a
00:32fifth-round pick.
00:33Not sure of the veracity of that rumor, but there's enough blood in the water for me to
00:38investigate.
00:39And I think it's quite clear right now that the Philadelphia Eagles have tired of A.J.
00:46Brown, and A.J. Brown will never again rock an Eagles jersey.
00:50The question for you, though, Tyrone, as an Eagle fan is, are you happy about that?
00:55Or are you not happy about that?
00:57Well, I'm not happy about that.
00:59And I also think that it's not a given that he's not back.
01:03And the reason I say that is...
01:04Oh, it's a wrap.
01:05You know it's a wrap.
01:06No.
01:07The reason I say that is there's still a huge cap hit in a trade.
01:11They get rid of future money, but a lot of money would accelerate into this year.
01:14Therefore, they're going to have to be well compensated to take that hit.
01:18And I've been told that a second and a fifth will not be enough because of the cap hit that
01:23they hit.
01:23They'll have like $28 million for a player that's not there.
01:26A second-round pick doesn't solve that.
01:28Therefore, they're probably going to need a better offer.
01:31And if Howie Roseman does not get the offer that he wants, he'll bring A.J. Brown back.
01:35Because A.J. Brown is willing to come back.
01:37I think it's more the Eagles at this point who are tired of A.J.
01:41I think A.J. has calmed down and wants to come back.
01:45Well, look, I think everyone recognizes the guy's talent, but at some point, even talented
01:50guys can become a pain in the ass.
01:52Like we saw with Stephon Diggs, right?
01:54Stephon Diggs, when he left Buffalo, went to Houston originally.
01:57You know, before he obviously wound up going to England and going to the Super Bowl, the
02:01Bills ate like $32 million against the cap because they were just so sick and tired of
02:07that guy in the locker room, my gut is that's where Philadelphia is right now, that they're
02:12just not enough and it's time to move on from A.J. Brown.
02:16They can't take it anymore.
02:17And it's one thing, you know, when you go to a Super Bowl and you win a Super Bowl, you
02:22kind of are willing to put up with certain things.
02:24But it's quite clear to me that A.J. Brown has outworn his welcome in Philadelphia.
02:29Now, I know in Philly, everyone gives Howie Roseman the benefit of the doubt because he's
02:34the best general manager in the sport.
02:35And I think it's well-earned and well-deserved.
02:37But A.J. Brown does not come along every single day of the week.
02:42And I know it's a, a lot of people think it's a deep wide receiver draft this year.
02:46I think it is every year nowadays.
02:48So I understand the money's a part of this too.
02:51But to me, if you can't figure out how to make A.J. Brown happy outside of giving the
02:58ball, you know, 10, 20 times a game, I always think that's on you.
03:02Like, professional athletes are a different breed of guy.
03:06So a lot of them are very high maintenance.
03:08It's what also makes them terrific professional athletes.
03:12And if you have a guy that is as good as A.J. Brown is, and yes, he's temperamental, he's
03:19weird, he does stupid stuff, he says stupid stuff, he's a problem on the sideline, whatever
03:25the case may be, I figure out a way to make that guy happy without having to kiss his ass
03:32or get him bended knee and beg him to, you know, do all the things I asked him to do
03:36as
03:36a coach.
03:36I think if you let A.J. Brown go, I think the Eagles are a lesser team.
03:41And I think that's a problem.
03:43I think that's a problem.
