00:13In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, the Lord may be with
00:19you.
00:21So dear friends, let us come before God as we are.
00:24Let us acknowledge the littleness before God as we prepare ourselves to celebrate this sacred Christmas.
00:34Lord, you are the companion of the journey of our lives. Lord, have mercy.
00:42You are Son of God and Son of Mary. Christ, have mercy.
00:50You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us. Lord, have mercy.
00:58May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into life everlasting.
01:06Let us pray.
01:10O God, who have prepared for those who love you good things in which no eyes can see, fill our
01:19hearts, we pray, with the warmth of your love,
01:23so that, loving you in all things, and above all things, may be your tenure of promises, which surpasses every
01:33human desire.
01:35True Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God,
01:43forever and ever.
01:47A reading from the prophet Ezekiel.
01:51The word of the Lord was addressed to me as follows.
01:55Son of man, prophecy against the shepherds of Israel.
02:02Prophecies and say to them, Shepherds, the Lord said this.
02:08Trouble for the shepherds of Israel, who feed themselves. Shepherds ought to feed their flock.
02:16Yet you have fed on milk. You have dressed yourself in wool.
02:21You have sacrificed the fattest sheep, but failed to feed the flock.
02:27You have failed to make weak sheep strong, or to care the sick ones, or to bandage the wounded ones.
02:35You have failed to bring back a stray, or look for the lost.
02:41On the contrary, you have ruled them cruelly and violently.
02:46For lack of a shepherd, they have scattered to become the prey of any wild animal.
02:57They have scattered apart. My flock is tearing in a wave and that, on mountains and on hills.
03:05My flock has been scattered all over the country. No one bothers them, and no one looks for them.
03:14Well then, shepherds, hear the word of the Lord. As I live, I swear it. It is the Lord who
03:22speaks.
03:24Since my flock has been looted, and for lack of a shepherd, is now their prey of any wild animal.
03:34Since my shepherds have stopped bothering about my flock. Since my shepherds feed themselves, rather than my flock.
03:42In view all of this, shepherds, hear the word of the Lord. The Lord says this,
03:49I am going to call the shepherd to account. I am going to take my flock back from them, and
03:56I shall now allow them to feed my flock.
04:01In this way, the shepherds will stop feeding themselves. I shall rescue my sheep from their mouths. They will not
04:10prey on them anymore.
04:12For the Lord says this, I am going to look after my flock, and keep all of it in them.
04:20The word of the Lord.
04:22The response, The Lord is my shepherd. There is nothing I shall want. The Lord is my shepherd. There is
04:31nothing I shall want.
04:36Fresh and green are the pastures, where He gives me the post. Near restful waters He leads me, to review
04:44my drooping spirit.
04:45The response, The Lord is my shepherd. There is nothing I shall want. He guides me along the right path.
04:54It is true to His name. If I should walk in the valley of darkness, no evil would fill.
05:01You are there with your crook and your stone. With this, you give me comfort.
05:07The response, The Lord is my shepherd. There is nothing I shall want.
05:12You have prepared a banquet for me, in the sight of my force. My head you have anointed with oil.
05:19My cup is poor for you.
05:21The response, The Lord is my shepherd. There is nothing I shall want.
05:26Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me, all the days of my life. In the Lord's own house shall I
05:34dwell, forever and ever.
05:36The response, The Lord is my shepherd. There is nothing I shall want.
05:44Alleluia, Alleluia.
05:46The Word of God is living and active. It probes the thought and motives of heart. Alleluia.
05:54The Lord be with you. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
05:59Glory to you, O Lord.
06:02Jesus said to His disciples,
06:05A kingdom of heaven is like a landowner going out at daybreak to hire workers for his vineyard.
06:14He made an agreement with the workers for one denarii a day and sent them to his vineyard.
06:22Going out at about the third double, he saw others standing idle in the market.
06:30And there he said to them,
06:33You go to my vineyard too, and I will give you a fair wage.
06:37So they went, at about the sixth double, and again in the ninth double, he went out and did the
06:48same.
06:49Then at about the eleventh double, he went out and found more men standing around.
06:54And he said to them,
06:55Why have you been standing here idle all day?
06:59Because no one has hired us, they said.
07:03He said to them,
07:04You go into my vineyard too.
07:07In the evening, the owner of the vineyard said to his believer,
07:13He called the workers and paid them their wages, starting with the last arrivals and ending with the first.
07:21So those who were hired at about the eleventh hour came forward and received the one denarii each.
07:28When the first came, they expected to get more, but they too received the one denarii each.
07:36They took it, but grumbled at the landowner.
07:40The men who came last day said,
07:43Have done only one other.
07:45But you have treated them same as us,
07:49Though we have done our heavy works all day in the heat.
07:54He answered to one of them and said,
08:00My friend, I am not being unjust to you.
08:05Did we not agree on one denarii?
08:09Take your earnings and go.
08:11I choose to pay the last government as much as I pay you.
08:15Have I no right to do what I like with my own?
08:19Why be so envious because I am generous?
08:24Thus the last will be first.
08:27And the first, last.
08:31Friends, the Gospel of the Lord.
08:34Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
08:47Blessed are you, Lord God of our creation, for through your goodness we have received this bread we offer you.
08:52Fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us a bread of life.
09:18For through your goodness we have received this bread we offer you.
09:22Fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become for us a bread of life.
09:28The Lord worshiped God for us.
09:31The homeless people and their hearts may be accepted to you, O Lord, and may our sacrifice on this day.
