00:13Ron, the show UGLY is out, so we're going to get Luke Morrow's best and worst of the weekend today.
00:20But I'm going to start this thing off, boys.
00:22Monday's weekend's best, weekend's worst.
00:25Let's start with the good news here, Luke.
00:28I'm going to go with Jackson Koivin.
00:31I don't know if y'all watched the 3M Open this weekend.
00:35Not an overly popular tournament to watch, but the PGA was in action this weekend.
00:46And this young fella, Jackson Koivin, now I'll give the boss a little shout-out.
00:52He is an Auburn Tiger.
00:53He's a fellow Auburn Tiger boss man.
00:55So that's one thing you may like.
00:57I don't necessarily like it, but you may.
01:00He was a hell of a college golfer.
01:04He's the only golfer in college to sweep all four major awards given in a season.
01:12So he swept.
01:14The only golfer to ever do it.
01:15He absolutely crushed college golf for three years, I believe it was.
01:19And then he turned pro this year.
01:23And not only did he win this 3M tournament, but in his third round, he shot a 10-under 61.
01:31It was a record on the back nine, tournament record on the back, where he shot a 28.
01:36He ended up finishing with a 72-hole tournament record, 25-under.
01:43And this is – it was cool.
01:47I didn't catch the whole thing.
01:49I wasn't watching the whole thing, Luke, but I was watching the highlights of it.
01:52But Scotty Scheffler came down the stretch on Sunday and was absolutely rolling, and he was able to hold him
01:59off, obviously.
02:00I think he won by three strokes.
02:02But watching a guy that literally just turned pro getting tracked down by Scotty Scheffler and handling his business was
02:09fun to watch.
02:10It's the best thing I saw this weekend.
02:12Yeah, yeah, certainly.
02:13Pretty cool to be able to do that for, you know, against, you know, the guy like Scheffler and whatnot.
02:19I'm with you on that.
02:21I was going to go with the low-hanging fruit of Hunter Brown for how well he pitched over the
02:26weekend.
02:27But then I was thinking, I'm going to say the New York Knicks were a winner of the weekend in
02:32the sense of –
02:33I just like this idea that – look, LeBron James, we got the news on Friday that he's signing with
02:39the Sixers.
02:40And, honestly, I couldn't care less about the whole LeBron story.
02:44Tell us how you really feel.
02:45Yeah, I mean, he's like the fourth-best player on that team.
02:47He's 40-whatever.
02:48It doesn't matter to me.
02:50And I know the person normally sitting in this chair would have something different to say, but I couldn't care.
02:54But what I do like, the winner is the Knicks because as the story goes, reportedly, LeBron and his camp
03:00reached out to the Knicks.
03:01They were not interested.
03:02And even though he signed with the Sixers, LeBron reportedly is going to live in New York City and commute
03:08by helicopter every day to and from Philadelphia.
03:12So I just like this idea of the Knicks.
03:14You got your championship finally, and now you can say no thanks to LeBron, who was so desperate to be
03:20in your city that he's still going to live there anyways, wishing he was part of the Knicks while playing
03:25in Philadelphia.
03:26So it's a roundabout way, but I'm going to say the Knicks are winners of the weekend because they said
03:31no thanks to King James, who is so desperate to live in New York City, he's going to take a
03:36helicopter every day.
03:37That's, well, I mean, is Philly, I mean, I've been told Philly's a great place.
03:42I know.
03:42My brother lived there for five years.
03:44I love Philly.
03:44How'd he like it?
03:45He loved it.
03:46I liked it.
03:47Whenever we would visit and spend time there, I was surprised.
03:49I'm out on the winter days in Philly.
03:52I don't, I have nothing for it there.
03:55But if I was going to go down there and try to win a championship, I wouldn't be worried about
03:59the weather.
04:00That is a, and I know Kobe Bryant did it, and unfortunately he lost his life doing it, taking helicopters
04:07from one destination to the other.
04:09I guess when you've got kids and you're in a place like L.A. and you're doing that travel circuit
04:16of basketball and trying to do it a certain way,
04:18I guess if you have the means like Kobe did, okay, cool, that is a, doesn't surprise me, but that
04:24is an odd, that's an odd approach to, how are you going to spend time with the fellas?

04:30How are you going to, I mean, conveniently, is that just you got to get on LeBron's schedule for a
04:35team function or what?
04:36I know.
04:36Even like the team planes for road games and everything, like, oh, hold on, LeBron's helicopter's running late.

04:42I think it's crazy, and I'm afraid of helicopters.
04:45I've never been on one.
04:46I don't want to be on one because, as you referenced, like things like the Kobe thing.
04:49So to be taking a helicopter that often, like, count me out.
04:54I wouldn't want to be doing that every day.

04:59So I didn't mean to take your weekend's best and turn it to a worst, but leave it to me

05:10I'm going to start this thing off with, I mean, could this have gone any worse?
05:16And let's be honest, it's since Brady left New England.
05:20Could this thing, if this weren't Bill Belichick at North Carolina, he would have been fired midway through last year.
05:28I mean, you backtrack to all the goings-on at North Carolina and not winning games.
05:37Last year was an absolute nightmare for the Tar Heel mission, if you will.
05:43And the appeal of Bill Belichick has to have worn off.
05:49They've got to be annoyed, right?
05:51And then all of a sudden, in comes one of his old buddies, Michael Lombardi, who we've had on this
05:58show multiple times, right, T?
05:59Hadn't we had Michael Lombardi on the show a few times?
06:02Yeah, a friend of the program.
06:03Should have stayed his ass in the media right there.
06:08He hires Michael Lombardi as his general manager.
06:10As you know, college football is going in the direction of general managers,
06:14and how do you pay this NIL roster, this roster era of football?
06:21Well, bad news in Tar Heel Nation.
06:24University of North Carolina general manager Michael Lombardi has been placed on paid administrative leave.
06:30Apparently, it's an HR issue.
06:32Some kind of complaint from a former North Carolina employee.
06:37I mean, I don't want to speculate, but, I mean, it seems like an HR, probably a woman.
06:45Could be comments about a woman.
06:47I guess it could be some kind of hire and fire of an employee potentially done the wrong way.
06:51So, any way you slice it, Michael Lombardi being on paid leave at North Carolina is just the next storyline,
07:03and it just seems like Bill Belichick can't get out of his own way.
07:05For a guy that tries to stay out of the spotlight, he sure somehow finds a way to be in
07:11the middle of it.
07:13It's true.
07:14Yeah, it's a circus, what's going on there at UNC.
07:18They're paying Lombardi $1.5 million a year.
07:22I also think about that for Lombardi.
07:24Like, not a bad gig.
07:24He went there for a year so far.
07:26We'll see what happens, but this might cost him his job.
07:28You get just over, they started over a year ago, right?
07:31You get almost $2 million.
07:34They have had no success with Lombardi, and then you get to go home with your $2 million for working
07:39a year in North Carolina as a GM.
07:40Like, that's not too bad for him.
07:42But he's fascinating, and I've spoken to him a number of times as well, and he's always been a great
07:47guy when I've communicated with him.
07:48But, you know, I think Payne and Pendergast, I think they're not fond of Lombardi because of that whole kind
07:54of like hanger-on thing where he's kind of like drama and entourage.
07:57He gets these opportunities just because he's, like, friends with Belichick and whatnot.
08:01Drama and entourage, that was a great show.
08:04Al Davis had comments, like, 20 years ago about Michael Lombardi and how he has no ability and, like, he
08:10has no, you know, he gets fired from every job.
08:12And it's just this thing, like, yeah, because he's friends with Belichick.
08:15Him and his kids keep getting, like, opportunities in football, and this has been a disaster.
08:20UNC's paying Belichick $10 million a year.
08:22First three years of that contract are guaranteed.
08:23They're paying Lombardi $1.5 million.
08:27They're raising money from Saudi Arabia to pay players and whatnot.
08:31And schools are struggling in college athletics, and people on the campus there at UNC are concerned that they're spending
08:37so much money on a football program that, you know, it's too much money.
08:41They have too much invested in this program.
08:43Well, they went four games last year.
08:45Something like that, yeah.
08:46I mean, that was, and it was, like, the first quarter or the first half of the first game or
08:50whatever, they looked good, and then it just fell apart.
08:52Maybe it was just the first drive, but nonetheless, I'm telling you, another one of those, I mean, just kind
08:59of one of those, he's always stuck in my brawl.
09:02Like, look, there's no doubt, and we're talking about one of the best coaches of all time, right?
09:06But if we're going to have that conversation, it has been an absolute mess show since Tom Brady left.
09:12I mean, again, I say it all the time.
09:13My man was hiring defensive-minded guys as your offensive coordinator and thinking, oh, he's a good coach, man.
09:18The smartest guy in the room approach, and it's just been an absolute miss since Brady left there, and then
09:24all of a sudden in North Carolina it is as well.
09:27So, Michael Lombardi, man, good luck, my brother.
09:30Weekend's worse for you, Luke.
09:31Yeah, I wanted to stick with the drama, so I'm going to say Tony Romo, who got that DWI over
09:37the weekend.

09:41But him, Mark Sanchez, I'm like, I think Romo's going to be fine.
09:44I don't think this is going to have any impact on his job with CBS.
09:47It's not quite like Sanchez.
09:49But, like, you guys have these cushy...

09:54You have these cushy jobs.
09:55You have millions of dollars.
09:56Like, just get a driver.
09:58Obviously, it's not safe.
09:59It's incredibly selfish and stupid to drink and get behind the wheel.

10:06He could probably retire now and be fine for the rest of his life.
10:08But, you have such a cushy job.

10:10Don't screw it up over something so stupid like this.
10:13But, with all that said, when I got the news, I wasn't all that surprised because it almost
10:17sounds like he's boozing in the booth on Sundays, too, when he's calling these games.
10:21So, Tony Romo, Weekend's worse.
10:22I think I did see, Tyler, correct me if I'm wrong, but he was at a golf tournament.

10:30I mean, this is on brand now.
10:34There's nothing wrong with Skechers.
10:35I'm just saying it is so on brand for Tony Romo.
10:38I know a video surfaced to him helping some kid with the first step of a three-step drop
10:44on the golf course kind of deal.

10:46And, I guess it was before, or maybe he was trying to get some goodwill.
10:50Maybe it was afterwards.
10:52But, I'm with you.
10:53This goes back to, Tyler, I know we've talked about it many times.
10:56This goes back to, I mean, if I had, if I were making a million dollars a year, I would
11:02have a Sprinter van everywhere I went.

11:04I would have a badass Sprinter van that I could stand up in with a driver, and I'd offer my
11:10buddies, hey, man, we're going to play golf.
11:12Hey, y'all leave y'all's rigs at the hotel.
11:13Man, y'all jump in and ride with me.
11:15Man, I got this.
11:15We can have some pops on the way down.
11:17We can tell some stories.
11:18If it's a long drive, we can play dominoes or cards or whatever.
11:21And, hell, if need be, I can get some work done on the way down there, on the way back.
11:25But, the thought of going, like, at that point, going to a golf tournament on a course for
11:32four plus hours, banging out some drinks, and then hopping in the car and coming home.
11:37I'm not saying that I've never done it now.
11:38I'm not trying to be holier than now.
11:40I'm just saying, I'm with you.
11:42If I had that kind of money, I would own a Sprinter van and employ a driver.
11:47Yeah.
11:47I don't get it.
11:49Or, I mean, you certainly have the money.
11:50Just call an Uber black or something.
11:53I mean, there's no reason to be doing it if you're Tony Romo or any of these other guys.
11:58In the NFL, it happens so often.
11:59All these athletes get themselves in trouble drinking and getting behind the wheel.
12:02Just hire a driver.
12:04And, you don't have to worry about it.
12:06But, so many people don't want to give up that driving.
12:10There's something to being behind the wheel and driving yourself and being in that control,
12:13I guess, that we see it all the time with celebrities and athletes.
12:17Well, you mentioned Mark Sanchez and Tony Romo.
12:20But, the difference is Romo's married a bunch of kids.
12:22So, you take that most powerful thing in the world, it's probably not in the formula or in the problem
12:28with Romo.
12:30The most powerful thing in the world is it was definitely in play for Mark Sanchez.
12:37Anytime a guy is stumbling out of bars and running around the corner like that, he was hunting something.
12:41The only reason he got to that point was there had to be a female somewhere that he knew or
12:47that he was hunting.
12:48That's the one thing that always seems to be a part of making men make the worst decisions of their
12:54life.
12:55Romo, I mean, he married out of his league and has got some kids.
12:58Hopefully, that didn't have anything to do with it.
