00:06Baseball as you got a lot of teams, you know, all bunched up in both leagues vying for a couple

00:13wildcard spots, opportunities, still a lot to be decided. And we've got a schedule here beginning
00:20tonight in some spots that are going to go a long way into deciding if some teams are going to
00:26be
00:26sellers or not sellers. And you don't have to look any further. And my goodness, what a difference
00:31three weeks makes. We were talking just 21 days ago, Tom, about the Marlins being
00:41buyers, possibly, that they would not be selling, you know, Sandy Alconda. They would not Liam Hicks.
00:48They were on pace 89-90 wins. They were second, I think, alone in the wildcard. And
00:56yeah, they have not won a game since. So a 12-game losing streak, which I think this series
01:03against the Phillies, who, by the way, after the All-Star break, have not been great at all either.
01:09This is a pretty big series here, I think, for both of these teams starting here tonight. You got
01:15Wheeler, unfortunately, for the Marlins. Wheeler's on the mound for the Phillies. Phillips on the mound
01:21for them here tonight. I mean, listen, nice win last night, Phillies, on Sunday Night Baseball,
01:26but you almost got swept by a Yankees team that can't score more than three runs a game. So
01:33this is a pretty big spot here for both these teams tonight, no?
01:37It really is. And, you know, the Marlins losing streak is something I've talked on Pro Baseball
01:41today about. And I feel like it's almost taken on the life of its own, just as the Red Sox
01:45winning
01:46streak has. We've got to remember, prior to the All-Star break, Joe, the Marlins got swept
01:51by the Guardians. That means the last time they won a game was prior to the All-Star break. And
01:56because there's so much time, it feels so much longer than it actually is. And that takes
02:01on the life of its own. The same thing with the Red Sox. It's like, oh, you're 10 wins,
02:0412, 13. All of a sudden, hang on, we're seeing a franchise record. To see a minus 186 line
02:09for an away team against a home team that was just in the playoffs, that seems like a big,
02:15big line. And granted, as you said, the Phillies have not been good. They managed
02:18one win against the Yankees. They almost got swept by the Dodgers. They managed to win there.
02:22So on this side of the All-Star break, they have not been doing well. But Zach Wheeler himself
02:26has been lights out, especially as of late. So the Marlins, when it rains, it pours. And they need
02:31a win. I don't know if it's coming tonight against Zach Wheeler. But I also don't want to bet the
02:35minus 186 line. 20 and 6 is what the Marlins were in the month of June. They were destroying
02:45everybody. And then, just like that, went into the All-Star break, came out, and not good. But
02:53not a great hitter's ballpark tonight. We got a total sitting at around seven and a half. You got
03:00a first five total at about four. Now, I'll say this about Phillips. He's got about a three and a
03:06half ERA. But yeah, that's much better than what he actually is. But he's only given up two home runs,
03:13I think, in this ballpark all year. And he's a ground ball pitcher, which, against a struggling
03:19lineup here, if he navigates, you know, Schwarber and Harper, I don't know how many runs are being
03:26scored in this game, no? I would agree, especially the under in the first five, like you said. Like,
03:31I can trust Zach Wheeler to do his thing and go out there and give up maybe one run, have
03:37six,
03:38seven, eight, nine strikeouts, whatever it's going to be. He can give us six innings. And based on
03:42what the Phillies have been doing and with Phillips, his ground ball tendencies, the under five and a
03:47half, I'm seeing it's a little bit juiced at minus 148 in the first five. So, you know, shot for
03:52the
03:52best line. But four and a half seems pretty reasonable to not get there in the first five
03:57between these two pitchers. And not just the pitchers, the dynamic of the offenses right now.
