00:00I've been on the sidelines this weekend, and I've seen it up close and personal.
00:04I don't know what is going on here, but the Marlins have now lost, going into Sunday,
00:1011 games in a row.
00:12This is a lot.
00:14Losing those games to Houston.
00:16I mean, look at this, Tom.
00:175-3, 5-2, 4-2.
00:21Now, yesterday got bad late, but I can't figure this out.
00:25Tom, like, I'm at the games.
00:27Every game's close.
00:29It's not like they're getting hammered.
00:30Like, remember when the A's lost 9 in a row or 10 in a row?
00:33They were losing, like, 100-2 in every game, and you're like, yeah, that makes sense.
00:36They fired the pitching coach.
00:38You know, the Marlins were 26-8.
00:40I am just perplexed here a little bit.
00:43Now, obviously, the results are what they are, and they moved under .500,
00:46and they're probably, let's be honest, out of the mix to capture the East in the National League.
00:52They're so far behind Atlanta now.
00:53And the wild card, they would have to go on this wild run here
00:57just to stay in it at this point.
00:59So I don't know if you're seeing anything different than me,
01:01but I'm literally on the sidelines during the games, and I'm scratching my head.
01:05I'm like, how did this happen?
01:06How did they go from so good to scuffling so much?
01:11You know, a part of me wants to say that, you know, losing streak like this becomes,
01:15like, it takes on a life of its own, where they were super hot right before the All-Star break.
01:20Then they get swept by the Guardians leading into the All-Star break,
01:24and then you come out of it, and then you haven't won.
01:26And when you look back at it, they haven't won, Craig, since July 9th.
01:29So because of the All-Star break, I think it seems so long ago,
01:33and it seems like they've been losing for so long that it takes on a life of its own.
01:36And the same thing can be said about the Red Sox winning streak, right?
01:39Like, it's like, how are we going to beat this team that's won 12 in a row?
01:42It's like, well, it's like, how do we lose to a team that's won this, you know,
01:46lost this many in a row, I should say.
01:48But to your point is, they're not out of these games.
01:50It's not like they're getting blown out.
01:52It's like they're losing by a run, maybe two runs, okay?
01:54Maybe it's just a bloop and a blast that puts the opposing team ahead or whatever it is.
01:58I see this as, I don't want to say a blip in the radar because we are approaching August,
02:03but a five-game win streak could turn things around
02:05just because the NL wildcard is completely up for grabs right now.
