00:00So imagine betting or going on Polymarket and investing in the Red Sox back when they were 10, 15 games
00:06under .500.
00:06You could get out right now and get an incredible price.
00:09That's what I would do if I had done that.
00:11But the Red Sox are up there along with Tampa Bay.
00:15Tom, the Yankees are going to be in contention.
00:18If Judge comes back, maybe Stanton, who's been a great postseason player for them, maybe that's a big help for
00:23them as well.
00:25I tend to think it is as simple as Tampa Bay is to lose if they have the home field
00:29throughout the American League playoffs.
00:31But stranger things have happened.
00:34Do strange things happen in the American League pennant race?
00:38That's a great question.
00:39And what's interesting to see is that the Rays are the favorites to win the AL East, as we just
00:45looked at.
00:46But they're the third option when it comes to winning, you know, being the AL champion.
00:50And I don't know if it's just everyone's hoping that, oh, you know, Rodon should be coming back to the
00:55Yankees.
00:55I don't know if they really need him in terms of the pitching because they have a great pitching staff.
00:58It's more about when Judge comes back, if Stanton comes back and get a good six-week run out of
01:02Stanton into the postseason, can the Red Sox stay this hot?
01:06Again, I still think it's going to be the Rays.
01:08How are we looking at a team that could potentially have home field advantage as the third option to win
01:13the AL championship?
01:15It has to be the Rays in this market.
01:18Yeah, I would agree.
01:19And, you know, maybe a sleeper team could be the White Sox or, you know, maybe the Rangers if they
01:25get hot.
01:26But I'm with you.
01:27I think it is coming out of the American League East, Tampa Bay, New York, or Boston.
01:31Meanwhile, the National League, it's kind of cut and dry that the Dodgers are going to win it, which is
01:35not a guarantee.
01:36This is not taxes and death, so to speak.
01:40The Dodgers can lose games.
01:41We've seen it.
01:42They had a long losing streak.
01:44So the Dodgers could maybe fall off.
01:46You never know.
01:47Now, I do expect them to make the playoffs, and I expect them to win the division, and I expect
01:51them to win the NLDS.
01:53But then anything after that I think is suspect.
01:56But is there a team for you that, you see, I guess my disappointment would be with the Braves not
02:04getting Scooble and not getting DeGrom.
02:08You know, is Bryce Elder and Holmes, are those guys going to shut down L.A. in a seven-game
02:12series in the NLCS?
02:13I'm a little concerned with that.
02:15So I tend to think that if somehow, Tom, maybe call me crazy, somehow if Milwaukee was to get home
02:23field over L.A. in a seven-game series, maybe that would be the team for me to take.
02:28Because I think Philadelphia, while on paper, they're great.
02:31They just seem to be flawed.
02:32I don't know.
02:33I mean, on paper, honestly, among all the teams in the NL, Tom, you look at Philly, you look at
02:36the pitching and the hitting, you're like, okay, that team wins.
02:38They just don't play like it.
02:40Yeah, to me, I would say from a pure investment opportunity, I think it would be Philly for me.
02:47It would be Philly or the Braves.
02:48I can't trust the Cubs.
02:49The Brewers, I think, are a fair price.
02:52What it comes down to, and obviously this is projecting too far into the future, but it really just comes
02:57down to the postseason bracket.
02:59Because if the Brewers have the best record and they get that buy, the Dodgers having to play whatever wildcard
03:05team, could it be the Phillies?
03:07That could give them a run for their money.
03:09Then they have to go and play another team.
03:11The path for the Dodgers could be the toughest, even though they are the best team.
03:16So I would be interested in not going to the Dodgers and looking to the Phillies or the Braves because,
03:21frankly, they don't have the pitching.
03:22At least the Braves don't.
03:23The Phillies might.
03:24But I think the lineups have enough to at least go slug for slug with the Dodgers, and I think
03:28that's what's most important.
03:29I'd have more interest in backing a Phillies lineup or a Braves lineup before I'd back a Brewers lineup.
