00:14test match cricket in the world after playing host to one-day internationals T20 internationals
00:19the final piece in the puzzle of the Brian Lauer Cricket Academy is about to be put into place test
00:25match cricket. It's a huge achievement for any venue across the world to be given accreditation
00:34for test cricket. I want to thank Cricket West Indies for the vision and for the insight to ensure
00:42that we did get the Brian Lauer Cricket Academy accredited for T20 cricket firstly then last
00:49day it was accredited for ODIs and now thank God we have gained accreditation for test cricket.
00:55The venue is named after an iconic figure of not only in the Caribbean here but around the world
01:01and I think it is it is only fitting that at this stage you know we have we have the
01:07accreditation
01:08to play test cricket at the venue. We must compliment Ulicut for maintaining a very high standard at the
01:14venue. You know we hosted CPL games there every year and because of that and the maintenance schedule
01:22that is being implemented by Ulicut it was very easy to have the venue up to world-class standard
01:29so hence the reason why I didn't think that you know it would have been a big a big issue
01:35in
01:35granting accreditation for test cricket. What I have seen of the pitch you know it is a pitch that will
01:41help both bowlers and batsmen that will play the test match. We must also remember that you know
01:46there were 40 games played at the Brian Lauer Cricket Academy. Quite a few years now we are
01:51playing 40 cricket there. The pitch have stood up to the test of time so we are hoping that you
01:57know
01:57we're going to get a good cricket cricket and we get that you know will produce runs and also where
02:03you can see quality bowling from from both sides. One of the problems with us over the recent past is
02:09that we are not consistent and that is that is we are hoping that they are going to work on
02:14it that
02:15is something that they must work on to be very consistent and consistent as much as possible we
02:21have the bowling and we have the batting I think that can match any team in the world. So I
02:25would
02:25like to appeal to the public the general public come out support West Indies cricket. West Indies would
02:31have played against Sri Lanka recently in Antigua and I think we would have won the series so you know
02:38come
02:38out support good cricket and Pakistan is no easy team to be there either you know they have some
02:43world-class players in Mohammed Rizban and Baba Azam so I think that you know we have in store that
02:49you know people who comes and who love the the real cricket the the five day test cricket that they
02:56they are going to be well entertained during the course of the next five days. Just come out and
03:01support cricket, support good cricket, support Trinidad and Tobago cricket, support West Indies cricket.
03:06The first ever historic test match here at the Brian Lauer Cricket Academy between the West Indies
03:11and the Pakistan will begin on a Saturday July 25th 2026 and if all goes well the first ball
03:17weather permitting will be delivered at 10 a.m. Eastern Caribbean time.
