00:00Here at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, we've seen CPL, we've seen First Class Cricket,
00:06we've seen T20 Internationals and One Day Internationals, but finally, we are getting
00:11a taste of test cricket between West Indies and Pakistan.
00:15Let's hear what the fans have to say.
00:18On a Monday afternoon, this is what the Brian Lara Cricket Academy looked like for an international
00:22red ball contest between the men in Maroon and the team from the subcontinent.
00:25Yes sir, how elated are you that Taruba finally has a test match?
00:29Great, it's great, because both of us are City umpires in Toronto, the umpires, it's a pleasure
00:36having a match in Taruba.
00:39For Monday afternoon, how pleased are you with the crowd and how are you enjoying it?
00:43So far so good, a very excellent game from both teams and I think this was long overdue
00:49in the south of Toronto, Taruba, I think this is what we needed a long, long time ago.
00:54Nice test cricket, bring back the community alive.
00:58Where there's cricket, there's also added fun in the form of music, and these fans were
01:03certainly having a blast in south Trinidad.
01:17Yes ma'am, how are you enjoying the cricket in Taruba?
01:20Very good, very good.
01:21I'm first time and I'm very happy about it, yes.
01:24Lots of fun.
01:26Yes.
01:26How pleased are you that Taruba has finally gotten a test match?
01:29I find, to me, it's an excellent venue, nice breeze, no problem, and what will be cream?
01:40You know, my sneeze win, you know, I mean, you can replay it anyway, I want to see my sneeze
01:43win, and finally I want to see my sneeze win, but it's a very fine venue, very fine venue.
01:48Well it out, it drains well.
01:49Being from south, would you say it's convenient for you that Taruba has a test match?
01:54Very convenient, close to home.
01:57And how are you enjoying it?
01:59A lot.
02:01Always enjoy cricket, winning or losing.
02:03Winning much better, but I'm there for the winning and losing.
02:06And seeing that it's a historical moment, that Taruba has a test match, what does it mean
02:10to you?
02:11Well it is great news, the first test we have here, so it's nice to have a test here finally,
02:14hopefully we'll get some more.
02:17It was all about the young, and the young at heart of course, with everyone coming out to
02:22enjoy the longest format of the game.
02:24Speaking of which, this young lady was getting a taste of the purest format from an early age.
02:29A test match in Taruba, finally.
02:31That's what many would say.
02:33How do you feel about it?
02:34I'm very excited, because since being a little kid like my daughter here, I always wish to see a test
02:39match.
02:39And I was really hoping that I could be able to witness Bran Lara perform.
02:43But at least we had to witness a test match in the Bran Lara Stadium.
02:47So it is very exciting, and we appreciate that the Caribbean recognizes South Trinidad as part of cricket.
02:54Well CPL, as we all know, is a party-like atmosphere. Test match a bit different, but how are you
02:59enjoying it?
03:00Well, we are enjoying it. It's good sofa, nice lovely weather, you know, nice little crowd out here.
03:07You know, it's not like just as you say, not as the CPL, but you had a, this is the
03:12grass shooter cricket, you know, test cricket, you know.
03:15You had a like this part of the game to really enjoy the CPL much.
03:18And do you look forward to more test matches at the Bran Lara Cricket Academy?
03:22Yeah, for sure. Yeah man. Cheers.
03:26And there was a booth to honor the late Sir Garfield Sobers, who recently passed away.
03:31That's where there was a book for persons to sign in memory of the legendary Westernian all-rounder.
03:37This young lady was given the responsibility of handling the booth, and therefore assisted those who wanted to come inside
03:43and pay tribute to the late Sir Garry, as he was also known.
03:47Now I need to export.
