00:00What are Europeans' top concerns in 2026?
00:07From the economy to healthcare, what are the worries on Europeans' minds?
00:12Well, it depends on where they live, according to a new YouGov study which surveyed citizens across six European countries.
00:20For 47% of French and 44% of Germans, the economy ranked among the top two concerns facing the
00:29countries respectively.
00:31Respondents also don't expect things to improve anytime soon, with around two-thirds of people in both countries saying they
00:39expect their economy to worsen over the coming year.
00:43In the UK, concerns around the state of the economy and immigration both ranked at 35%.
00:51But elsewhere, the picture changes.
00:55Nearly half of Spaniards, 49%, say housing is now the country's biggest issue, the highest-rated concern in the six
01:03surveyed countries.
01:05This comes as Spain continues to grapple with soaring rents and demand for homes outpacing construction.
01:11With official figures showing house prices have risen by almost 13% over the course of 2025.
01:18In Italy, healthcare comes out on top, cited by 43% of respondents.
01:24Whilst in Denmark, international security threats and climate change jointly topped the list at 27%.
