Where in Europe are workers the most stressed?

A new study covering 160 countries compares Europe's stress levels with those of the rest of the world, finding a mix of good and bad news for the old continent's employees and employers.

00:00Which European countries have the most engaged workforce?
00:08Global employee engagement continues to decline,
00:12meaning that workers feel less involved or emotionally committed towards their employers.
00:17According to management consulting firm Gallup,
00:20the level is now down to 20%, the lowest rate since 2020.
00:26The impact isn't only psychological,
00:29but also results in a staggering productivity loss of almost 9 trillion euros,
00:34according to the company.
00:36And Europe remains the least engaged region globally for the sixth consecutive year,
00:41falling to a 12% rate.
00:44The lowest percentages were reported in Croatia, Poland, France, Switzerland,
00:49Luxembourg, Ireland and Austria.
00:52Despite a poor record of involvement,
00:55data shows European workers are far better off when it comes to wellbeing,
01:00reporting lower rates of daily stress, anger and sadness.
01:04Some 49% of employees across the continent claim to be thriving,
01:09compared to 34% globally.
01:12Finland, Iceland and Denmark top the happiness chart in Europe,
01:16and amid challenges brought by AI and global volatility,
01:20the majority of European workers are optimistic,
01:23with 57% claiming it's a good time to find a job led by the Netherlands.
