00:00Are Europeans satisfied with how the EU handles their top priorities?

00:09Europeans broadly appreciate the EU's impact, but they are also calling for more action, according to a survey.

00:15Nearly three quarters of respondents said their country has benefited from EU membership,

00:20one of the highest results ever recorded, despite global hardships like Trump's new DAX regime or the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.

00:28When asked about the effect of EU actions, 72% said they impact their daily life.

00:34However, half view it positively, while nearly one in five say this effect is negative.

00:40European stock concerns remain inflation and the cost of living, defence and security, and poverty and social exclusion.

00:47Citizens say they want a stronger EU response to these challenges.

00:51Two-thirds believe the EU's role in protecting citizens should be strengthened,

00:55and nine in ten want member states to be more united.

00:59Still, confidence in the EU is rising.

01:02More than half of respondents have a positive view of the EU,

01:05and 42% think things are moving in the right direction.

01:08However, expectations remain high.
