00:00The Dallas Cowboys, it must be July because here we are already doing the victory parade for the Dallas Cowboys.
00:09Will the Cowboys make it to their first Super Bowl in 31 years?
00:14Dak Prescott said something that every year it's Super Bowl or a bus for the Dallas Cowboys.
00:20Well, this just in.
00:22The Dallas Cowboys have not been to a conference championship game in 30 years.
00:28And to put that in more perspective, the New York Jets and the Cardinals have actually more playoff wins since
00:372000.
00:38Look where they are just in their own division with the Giants, the Commanders and the Eagles.
00:44I mean, they're nowhere to be seen.
00:46The Washington Commanders, who were run by Daniel Snyder and one of the worst owners in all of pro football,
00:52has at least four victories when it comes to playoff wins.
00:56Look, I've said this before about the Cowboys.
00:58There is one person that they have never been able to replace, and that is Jimmy Johnson.
01:05Jerry, without all the things that you've seen him do when it comes to hiring coaches, when it comes to
01:11putting personnel on that team, some of it's been great.
01:14Des Bryant, some of the players that he's put on that team, replacing people like Michael Irvin, people like Troy
01:20Aikman, Tony Romo.
01:22Now we have Dak, all those players that he has brought in.
01:26What's the one common denominator when it comes to non-winning?
01:30It's Jimmy Johnson.
01:32He has chased his shadow for the last 30 years.
01:37You know, that infamous weekend when they had NFL owners meeting in Orlando, and Jerry Jones said this,
01:44Guess what? 500 coaches could coach this Dallas Cowboy team.
01:49That was them coming off back-to-back Super Bowl wins.
01:52And he said 500 coaches could coach this team.
01:56Well, you had Barry Switzer come in, and Barry Switzer was just holding the mail down when it came to
02:02all those Jimmy players that he had brought in.
02:04Jimmy was in complete control of that Dallas Cowboy dynasty.
02:08He made all the coaching hires.
02:10Those coaches were with me at the University of Miami.
02:13He brought all those guys in.
02:16He has never been able to replace Jimmy Johnson.
02:19Look at the record.
02:21Four wins since 2000.
02:24They have not been to a conference title game.
02:27And here we have people saying this is the year for the Dallas Cowboys.
02:31This is going to be the year that the Cowboys end up going to a conference championship and winning.
02:38They will never, ever go to a conference championship.
02:42They will never, ever win a Super Bowl as long as Jerry Jones is running that team.
02:49They were never a football team when Jerry was the head of it, ever.
02:55Jimmy Johnson was the guy, head of personnel, head of coaching, head of every single decision.
03:02You know that Netflix series that they had last year talking about the Herschel Walker trade?
03:07That couldn't be further from the truth.
03:10Do you know how that deal was consummated?
03:12That deal was consummated on one of the legendary Jimmy Johnson noon runs.
03:18He looked over at Dave Wonstadt and said, you know what?
03:21We're not going anywhere with Herschel Walker.
03:23Why don't we trade Herschel Walker?
03:26Jimmy contacted the Cleveland Browns.
03:29Cleveland Browns had a deal on the table.
03:32And all of a sudden, the Minnesota Vikings come parachuting in.
03:35And they make that tremendous deal and set up the Cowboy dynasty.
03:39Jimmy made over 54 trades in his five years as head football coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
03:46He had to change it up.
03:48They were 1 in 15.
03:49I was there for their first year.
03:51The talent on the football team had just been awful for all the years there.
03:56Coach Landry not doing anything to really bring in and refurbish the new talent on the team.
04:02Jimmy went in and did everything on changing the landscape of that football team.
04:09And they went on to win three Super Bowls because of it.
04:12Again, like I said, they will never win as long as Jerry Jones is running that football team.
04:18They have all kinds of great talent this year.
04:20I think they're going to be a much improved football team.
04:23But make no mistake about it.
04:25You're looking at a football team that's not going anywhere as long as Jerry Jones is running it.
