00:00We have friends of the program here.
00:02Okay, so this weekend has been pretty remarkable.
00:06I want to start it off here with Bobby Valentine.
00:08The New York Mets honored Bobby Valentine on Saturday.
00:12We'll talk more about Valentine and what he means to me here.
00:14But going back in what they did on Friday, here's Bobby V with the first pitch here.
00:22But let me tell you, too, what I loved about the fact, look at the mustache.
00:26He goes out, he brings the mustache back.
00:31Everyone remembers what he did when he had the mustache.
00:33He gets thrown out of a game.
00:35And there's legendary Bobby V, who, by the way, will be on the program next week.
00:39He goes into the New York Mets Hall of Fame on Saturday.
00:44Bobby V was one of the greatest athletes in the history of Connecticut sports.
00:48He got over 200 offers to play football, not just baseball, but 200 offers to play football.
00:58He went to Ripawam High School, a high school that I competed against, obviously a little older than me.
01:04But Bobby V was one of the greatest athletes in the history of Connecticut sports.
01:08He was supposed to take over for O.J. Simpson at USC and be the running back there.
01:14He ended up going to Southern Cal, ended up getting drafted by the Dodgers, and then, obviously, he ends up
01:20punching his ticket with the New York Mets as a player, and he ends up going into the Hall of
01:24Fame.
01:24Congratulations to you, Bobby V.
01:26We love you very much.
01:28He's related to us, and we think so highly of him, and we always love his friendship with us.
01:33Now, the other guy is my guy, Michael Irvin.
01:37So, Michael Irvin, going to Dallas Cowboys OTAs.
01:42Let me hook you up on Michael Irvin and who he is, another friend of the program, by the way,
01:46and a former teammate of mine.
01:48I've known Michael Irvin for over 40 years, and the impact that Michael Irvin has on people's lives because of
01:55the ups and downs that he's gone through in his life has been remarkable.
01:59Everyone knows the story, and we've seen Michael Irvin grow up in front of us.
02:03I love this guy.
02:05He's one of my brothers, and as I've said, you know, we're friends for over 40 years.
02:11As a teammate at the University of Miami and a small teammate of mine when I was with the Dallas
02:15Cowboys, Michael Irvin, I get a lot of people telling me, hey, you know the stuff that Irvin does on
02:22the sidelines during hurricane games?
02:24Man, it's a little bit obnoxious.
02:26I'm like, wait a minute here.
02:27Michael Irvin's been doing that since he was 19 years of age.
02:31This is nothing new.
02:33Michael Irvin is one of the greatest teammates and one of the greatest people I've ever known as a friend.
02:39He's won at every level.
02:41He won when he was at St. Thomas Aquinas, a state championship.
02:46Obviously, he won a national championship and three Super Bowl titles, and now he has a gold jacket.
02:52One of the greatest men I've met, one of the greatest friends I have.
02:56And believe me, when Irvin talks, it was never about statistics.
03:01It was always about winning.
03:03Michael Irvin wanted to be the best teammate he possibly could be, and he was.
03:07Now, if he's an adversary, Michael Irvin is one of the worst players that you could ever play against because
03:15he will be in your face.
03:16I've never seen anybody like it in your face.
03:20He's one of the worst people when you're playing against.
03:23But when he's one of your teammates, he is without a doubt one of the absolutely greatest teammates I've ever
03:29had.
03:29And I'll never forget him wearing a clock around his neck.
03:33He came up to me, and he looked at me, and he said, hey, look, if I get to 4
03:37-5, I'm going to Canton.
03:39He was 17 years old when he said that.
03:41He's going to be 17 years old when he said that.
03:41You
