00:00Here we go.
00:01And it is August 16th.
00:05And we're giving up the preseason Super Bowl trophy already to the Dallas Cowboys.
00:12And Dak Prescott.
00:14Well, Dak Prescott's making a lot of noise saying that this is going to potentially be the greatest offense in
00:19NFL history.
00:21With George Pickens, with Williams, and with CeeDee Lamb, and with him throwing the football.
00:26That's quite a statement from a guy who hasn't won anything.
00:30Since he has been the starting quarterback in Dallas.
00:33Quite frankly, it's a big statement for an organization that hasn't won anything in over 30 years.
00:39Give you context here.
00:42When Coach Johnson took over the Dallas Cowboys, that football team would go on that season.
00:48We were there for 1-15.
00:50It was an absolute train wreck.
00:52Nobody was talking about winning Super Bowls.
00:56Everybody envisioned winning Super Bowls.
00:58But Jimmy had a vision of what it was going to take to get that football team to the next
01:04level.
01:05We talked and we've chronicled the Herschel Walker trade.
01:08Hard, dedicated players that would end up turning the culture around and changing the culture around inside the building.
01:16That's what became swagger in the building for the Dallas Cowboys, was that there was a commitment to excellence.
01:22And there was a commitment that each and every single day the organization was going to get better.
01:27The Dallas Cowboys are like the Dallas Kardashians.
01:32They are a reality TV show.
01:35That's not the Dallas Cowboys.
01:37It's the Dallas Kardashians.
01:40This is a football team that lives off of drama.
01:43This is a football team that stays in the world of the drama.
01:47And they never win football games.
01:50You make Dak Prescott the highest paid player at the time when he signed his contract in National Football League
01:56history.
01:57What has he proceeded to do?
01:59Nothing.
02:01It's the ultimate reality show.
02:04Really led by the ultimate reality NFL owner.
02:08He's the polar opposite, Jerry Jones, of what Al Davis was when Al Davis ran the Raiders.
02:14Back in the day when the Raiders stayed out of courtrooms and were worried about staying on the football field
02:19and winning ballgames.
02:20They had the winningest percentage in NFL history at one time when they were just isolated on winning football because
02:28Al Davis was committed and committed to excellence.
02:32Jerry Jones not committed to excellence.
02:34And yet you turn around.
02:36How does a team with a quarterback like Dak Prescott and Tony Romo, for that matter, over the last 30
02:44years, not win, but four playoff games?
02:46And on top of that, become the richest franchise on the planet because the one thing that Jerry does, he
02:54loves to sell you fool's gold.
02:56And that's what the Cowboys will always be as long as Jones owns the football team and there's not a
03:02quality football man in the building.
03:04You see, what Jerry never really liked about Jimmy was Jimmy was the football man.
03:09Jerry was the businessman.
03:11And Jerry tried to combine both of them.
03:14But now it's even affected Dak Prescott.
03:17Dak's coming out saying, we're going to have the greatest offense in NFL history.
03:23You know what Jimmy Johnson would say to that?
03:25How about the greatest football team in NFL history?
03:29One side of the football is not going to win it for you, kid.
03:32You're going to have two sides and you're going to have to have your defense and your offense go out
03:37and finally deliver in the fall.
03:40I've never seen a football team with more Super Bowl trophies in my life than the Dallas Cowboys for winning
03:46the offseason.
03:47They are the kings.
03:48There's no franchise in pro football history that has more off and out of season Super Bowl champions.
03:55And we are sitting here, without a doubt, understanding what we're looking at here with this Dallas Cowboy.
04:03Make no mistake about it.
04:05At the end of the day, Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys have to win when it matters the most.
04:13They have to win in the fall.
04:15They have to win when it matters.
04:18Legacies are made in the postseason.
04:22Dak can have the greatest offense of all time.
04:25If you're not winning championships, you will never be revered, especially in that organization where the star is revered with
04:33the great players like Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman.
04:37That's what he's missing.
04:38And that's what all Cowboy fans miss, is the fact that this football team has to win now.
04:45Dak Prescott's in his 10th season.
04:48He's gone, and he's done some marvelous things for a mid-round guy.
04:54But let's not mistake that this is a year that the Dallas Cowboys have to win.
05:00And this is a year that Dak Prescott has to finally make his mark as being one of the great
05:07Dallas Cowboy quarterbacks.
05:09Danny White went to NFC Championship games.
05:11And he's looked down on it because he never won one.
05:14What's Dak and Tony Romo?
05:17Two dudes that completely underachieved as a football team.
05:21We shall see.
