00:05O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing your praise.
00:12O God, make speed to save us. O Lord, make haste to help us.
00:21Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
00:25as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
00:30World without end. Amen.
00:34Let us praise the Lord. The Lord's name be praised.
00:43I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth,
00:50of all things visible and invisible.
00:54I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God,
01:00born of the Father before all ages.
01:04God from God, light from light, true God from true God,
01:10begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father.
01:14Through him all things were made.
01:18For us men, and for our salvation, he came down from heaven,
01:22and by the Holy Spirit, was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
01:30For our sake, he was crucified under Pontius Pilate.
01:34He suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
01:41He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
01:46He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
01:50and his kingdom will have no end.
01:54I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
01:59who proceeds from the Father,
02:01who with the Father and the Son,
02:03is adored and glorified,
02:05who has spoken through the prophets.
02:09I believe in one holy, catholic and apostolic church.
02:13I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins,
02:17and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
02:21and the life of the world to come.
02:24Amen.
02:28The Lord be with you,
02:30and also with you.
02:34Let us pray.
02:36Lord, have mercy upon us.
02:40Christ, have mercy upon us.
02:43Lord, have mercy upon us.
02:48Our Father in heaven,
02:50holy is your name.
02:53Your kingdom come.
02:55Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
03:00Give us today our daily bread,
03:03and forgive us our trespasses,
03:06as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:11Do not allow us to fall into temptation,
03:15but deliver us from every evil.
03:18Amen.
03:21O Lord, have mercy upon us,
03:25and grant us your salvation.
03:29Bless your ministers with righteousness,
03:33and make your chosen people joyful.
03:38O Lord, save your people,
03:41O Lord, save your people,
03:42and bless your inheritance.
03:45Give peace in our time, O Lord,
03:49because there is none other that fights for us,
03:52but only you, O God.
03:56O God, make clean our hearts within us.
04:01Do not take your Holy Spirit from us.
04:102 Kings, Chapter 18
04:14In the 14th year of King Hezekiah's reign,
04:18King Sennacherib of Assyria
04:20marched up against all the fortified cities of Judah
04:23and captured them.
04:26King Hezekiah of Judah
04:27sent this message to the king of Assyria,
04:30who was at Lachish.
04:34I have violated our treaty.
04:37If you leave, I will do whatever you demand.
04:42So the king of Assyria demanded
04:44that King Hezekiah of Judah
04:46pay 300 talents of silver
04:49and 30 talents of gold.
04:53Hezekiah gave him all the silver
04:55in the Lord's temple
04:56and all the treasuries of the royal palace.
05:00At that time, King Hezekiah of Judah
05:02stripped the metal overlays
05:04from the doors of the Lord's temple
05:06and from the posts which he had plated
05:08and gave them to the king of Assyria.
05:14The king of Assyria
05:16sent his commanding general,
05:17the chief eunuch
05:19and chief advisor
05:20from Lachish
05:21to King Hezekiah in Jerusalem
05:24along with a large army.
05:27They went up
05:28and arrived in Jerusalem
05:30and stood
05:30on the conduit
05:32of the upper pool
05:33which is located
05:34on the road to the field
05:35where they wash and dry cloth.
05:40They summoned the king
05:41so were Eloakim son of Hilkiah
05:44the palace supervisor
05:45accompanied by Shebna the scribe
05:48and Jehoah son of Esau
05:50the secretary
05:51went out to meet them.
05:56The chief advisor said to them
05:58tell Hezekiah
06:00this is what the great king
06:03the king of Assyria says
06:05what is the source of your confidence?
06:09You claim to have a strategy
06:11and military strength
06:12that is just empty talk.
06:16In whom do you trust
06:17that you would dare
06:18to rebel against me?
06:21Look
06:22you must be trusting in Egypt
06:24that splintered reed stuff.
06:27If a man leans for support on it
06:30it punctures his hand
06:31and wounds him.
06:33That is what Pharaoh
06:35king of Egypt
06:36does to all
06:36who put their trust in him.
06:40Perhaps
06:40you will tell me
06:41we are trusting
06:42in the Lord our God.
06:45But Hezekiah
06:46is the one
06:47who eliminated
06:47his high places
06:48and altars
06:49and then told
06:50the people
06:51of Judah
06:51and Jerusalem
06:52you must worship
06:54at this altar
06:55in Jerusalem.
06:58So now
06:59make a deal
06:59with my master
07:00the king of Assyria
07:01and I will give you
07:03two thousand horses
07:04providing you can find
07:06enough riders
07:07for them.
07:09Certainly
07:09you will not refuse
07:11one of my master's
07:12minor officials
07:12and trust in Egypt
07:14for chariots
07:15and horses.
07:18Furthermore
07:19it was by the command
07:20of the Lord
07:21that I marched up
07:22against this place
07:23to destroy it.
07:25For the Lord
07:26told me
07:26march up against
07:28this land
07:28and destroy it.
07:33Eliakim
07:34son of Hilkiah
07:36Shebna
07:36and Jodah
07:37said to the chief advisor
07:40Speak to your servants
07:41in Aramaic
07:42for we understand it.
07:45Don't speak to us
07:46in the Judaic dialect
07:48in the hearing
07:49of the people
07:49who are on the wall.
07:53But the chief
07:54advisor said to them
07:55My master
07:56did not send me
07:57to speak these words
07:58only to your master
08:00and to you.
08:01His message
08:02is also
08:02for the men
08:03who sit on the wall
08:05for soon
08:06they will eat
08:06their own excrement
08:07and drink their own
08:08urine
08:08along with you.
08:14The chief advisor
08:15then stood
08:15and called out
08:16loudly
08:17in the Judaic dialect
08:21Listen to the message
08:22of the great king
08:23the king of Assyria
08:25This is what the king says
08:27Do not let Hezekiah
08:29mislead you
08:30for he is not able
08:31to rescue you
08:32from my hand.
08:34Do not let Hezekiah
08:36talk you into trusting
08:37in the Lord
08:38when he says
08:39The Lord will certainly
08:41rescue us
08:41This city will never
08:43be handed over
08:44to the king of Assyria
08:48Do not listen
08:49to Hezekiah
08:49for this is what
08:51the king of Assyria
08:52says
08:54Send me a token
08:55of your submission
08:56and surrender to me
08:58Then each of you
09:00may eat from his own
09:01vine and fig tree
09:02and drink water
09:03from his own cistern
09:05Until I come
09:06and take you
09:07to a land
09:07just like your own
09:09A land full of grain
09:11and new wine
09:11A land of bread
09:13and vineyards
09:13A land of olive trees
09:14and honey
09:15Then you will live
09:17and not die
09:18Do not listen
09:19to Hezekiah
09:20for he misleads you
09:22when he says
09:23The Lord will rescue you
09:27Have any of the gods
09:28of the nations
09:29actually rescued
09:30his land
09:31from the power
09:31of the king of Assyria?
09:34Where are the gods
09:35of Hamath
09:35and Abad?
09:36Where are the gods
09:37of Shepharim
09:38Hena
09:39and Eba?
09:41Indeed
09:41did any of the gods
09:43rescue Samaria
09:44from my power?
09:46Who amongst all
09:48the gods of the lands
09:49has rescued their lands
09:50from my power?
09:53So how can the Lord
09:54rescue Jerusalem
09:55from my power?
09:59The people were silent
10:00and did not respond
10:03for the king
10:04for the king had ordered
10:05do not respond
10:07to him
10:11Eliakim son of Hilkiah
10:13the palace supervisor
10:14accompanied by Shepner
10:16the scribe
10:17and Jehoah son of Asaph
10:18the secretary
10:20went to Hezekiah
10:21with their clothes torn
10:23and reported to him
10:25and reported to him
10:26what the chief advisor
10:27had said
10:29This is the word
10:31of the Lord
10:32Thanks be to God
10:40My soul truly
10:42Waited still upon God
10:46For of him
10:48cometh my salvation
10:51He is my strength
10:55and my salvation
10:58He is my defense
11:01for that I shall not
11:04raise me for
11:07How long will he imagine
11:09which he forgets
11:11every man
11:14Each of his men
11:16will not slaughter
11:17He is a totally world
11:21And he will be
11:23and I have no love yet
11:26When he fights it
11:29on the heart
11:30of the devout
11:32in your way
11:34May he light it
11:37in light
11:39May he for birds
11:41live their love
11:43but not with their heart
11:46Nevertheless
11:48my soul
11:50Waited still upon God
11:53For my love
11:56is in him
11:58If to thee
12:01is my strength
12:02and my salvation
12:06Feed my defense
12:09so that I shall atone
12:13In God is my health
12:17and my glory
12:19The rock of my might
12:22and in God
12:24is my trust
12:26Who would you trust
12:29in him
12:30for when he'll hear you
12:33And your arms
12:36in for him
12:37for God
12:38is our home
12:42As for the children
12:44of men
12:45they are not bad
12:49The children
12:50of men
12:51are deceitful
12:53upon the wings
12:54They are all to
12:57bear the light
12:59of their
12:59family
13:00to himself
13:02Who does not
13:05in wrong and
13:06properly
13:07give not yourself
13:09tell the truth
13:10and the truth
13:12and the truth
13:12new creatures
13:14increase
13:15that
13:16not your heart
13:18are common
13:19who does not
13:22once and twice
13:24when I've also
13:26heard the sin
13:28that how
13:30he loved
13:31that not
13:32or God
13:33when that
13:35the Lord
13:37has heard
13:38in me
13:39for my
13:41will
13:42take me
13:43and
13:44will
13:44Falling to his world
13:51Glory be to the Father

14:14Amen
14:25O God, thou art my God
14:30When he invites me
14:37My son trusted for thee
14:41My questions for your head after me
14:48Near the famine and pride
14:52And where no water is
14:58Last time I looked for thee
15:02In holiness
15:03That I might feel all thy power and glory
15:10For thy loving kindness is better
15:16Than the life itself
15:19My lips shall praise thee
15:25As long as I leave will I verify
15:30By the oldest mother
15:33And lift off my hands
15:37With thy prayer

15:48Read the message
15:48With harrow and platter
15:52When thy mouth waiteth me with joy

21:35The Gospel according to Saint John.
21:39Chapter 19.
21:43After this, Jesus, realizing by this time everything was completed, said, in order to fulfill the
21:51scripture, I am thirsty.
21:54A jar full of sour wine was there, and so they put a sponge soaked in sour wine on a
22:00branch
22:01of hyssop, and lifted it up to his mouth.
22:05When he had received the sour wine, Jesus said, It is completed.
22:11He bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
22:18Then, because it was the day of preparation, so that the bodies should not stay on the crosses
22:24on the Sabbath, for that Sabbath was an especially important one, the Jewish leaders asked Pilate
22:30to have to have the victims' legs broken and the bodies taken down.
22:35And so the soldiers came and broke the legs of the two men who had been crucified with Jesus, first
22:41one and then the other.
22:43But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs.
22:50One of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and blood and water flowed out immediately.
22:58The person who saw it as testified and his testimony is true.
23:02He knows that he is telling the truth, so that you also may believe.
23:09For these things happened, that the scripture would be fulfilled, not a bone of his will be broken.
23:16And again, the scripture says, they will look upon the one whom they have pierced.
23:24After this, Joseph of Arimathea, a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jewish leaders,
23:33asked Pilate if he could remove the body of Jesus.
23:37Pilate gave him permission, and so he went and took the body away.
23:43Nicodemus, the man who had previously come to Jesus at night, accompanied Joseph, carrying a mixture of myrrh and aloes,
23:52weighing about 75 pounds.
23:55Then they took Jesus' body and wrapped it with aromatic spices in strips of linen cloth, according to Jewish burial
24:04customs.
24:07Now at the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden.
24:10And in the garden was a new tomb, where no one had yet been buried.
24:17And so, because it was the Jewish day of preparation, and the tomb was nearby, they placed Jesus' body there.
24:27This is the word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.
24:38O God, who is the author of peace, and lover of concord, in knowledge of whom stands our eternal life,
24:47whose service is perfect freedom.
24:50Defend us, your humble servants, in all assaults of our enemies, that we, surely trusting in your defence, may not
24:59fear the power of any adversaries.
25:02Through the might of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
25:10Collect for our safe preservation.
25:14O Lord, our Heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God, who has safely brought us to the beginning of this day.
25:22Defend us in the same with your mighty power, and grant that this day we fall into no sin, neither
25:30run into any kind of danger.
25:33But that all our doings may be ordered by your governance, to do always that which is righteous in your
25:42sight.
25:43Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
25:50Lord, let me accept calmly all that this day might bring me, and let me devote myself completely to your
25:59sacred will.
26:00Direct me and help me each hour of this day. Control my thoughts and feelings in all my deeds and
26:08words.
26:10When unpredictable circumstances arise, do not let me forget that everything comes from you.
26:18Lord Jesus, Son of God, it is better not to live than to live without you.
26:25I thank you, God, for the gift of this new day, and for all the good deeds you will help
26:31me do today.
26:34Holy Spirit, help me to dedicate this day to my Lord and Saviour.
26:40Teach me to be just toward my brother and sister, never to provoke wrath or cause sorrow.
26:49Control my will and teach me to pray, to believe, to hope, to suffer, to forgive and to love.
26:59Amen.
27:03We pray for the work of your faithful servants throughout the world, Lord.
27:10Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
27:16May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be
27:24with us all today and forevermore.
27:27Amen.
