Rabbits (original title: Night of the Lepus) is a 1972 American horror film by William F. Claxton. The screenplay for the animal horror film, produced by MGM, is based on the 1964 novel The Year of the Angry Rabbit by the Australian author Russell Braddon. The main roles are played by Stuart Whitman, Janet Leigh, and Rory Calhoun.

Plot
The land of rancher and cattle baron Cole Hillman in Arizona is suffering from a rabbit plague. After their natural predators, the coyotes, were exterminated in the area, the rabbits multiply uncontrollably and destroy the crops of local farmers. Hillman seeks out university president Elgin Clark to ask for help in the fight against the rodents. Since Hillman wants to poison the animals, Clark asks the couple Roy and Gerry Bennett for assistance. The Bennetts are behavioral researchers. Roy is a biologist and suggests studying some of the animals and using hormones to manipulate the females' reproductive cycles.
