00:00It's interesting, the rhetoric from a lot of the Spurs players after Game 2 and in the press conferences,
00:06talking about how we let one get away, we feel like we've outplayed the Knicks, we're the better team,
00:13we'll be just fine in Game 3, and it's reminiscent of Kenny Atkinson and Cleveland going,
00:20we won the analytic battle, we feel like we're the better team, we let one get away.
00:26And then against Philadelphia, we're better than the Knicks.
00:30We let one get away.
00:31Sixers never said that.
00:32All of them.
00:34Sixers never said that.
00:35At Atlanta, the Knicks aren't as good as us.
00:38They're a beatable team.
00:39We let one get away.
00:41And it's like at some point.
00:42That has happened.
00:44It's happened in every series of this postseason.
00:46Only Atkinson has said something crazy.
00:48And I'm trying to figure out at what point will you guys recognize you're not better than the Knicks.
00:53You didn't let one get away.
00:56The Knicks took it from you.
00:57And I think this Knick team is the most disrespected championship team in the history of the NBA.
01:06When it's all said and done and they're crowned 2026 NBA champions, which they will be.
01:11It's done.
01:11It's over.
01:12You know that.
01:13Not that the Spurs are going to roll over and play dead like the Cavs did.
01:16But I think it's a wrap this series now that the Knicks are up 2-0.
01:21But every team, every press conference, yeah, that's on us.
01:24The Knicks didn't do anything special.
01:26You know, the Knicks don't do anything that we're not prepared for.
01:29And the Sixers did it.
01:30And the Cavs did it.
01:31That didn't happen.
01:32And now the Spurs are doing it.
01:33It didn't happen.
01:34And I'm trying to figure out why this team is being so disrespected.
01:37They deserve to be.
01:38They're the best team in basketball.
01:40Yeah, at this moment.
01:41But they don't have the best senior player.
01:42But that's what happens when you have, relative to a championship team,
01:46a very mediocre regular season to set the tone as a three seed.
01:50That's what happens.
01:51They won 50-plus games this year.
01:53Yeah, that's not special for champions.
01:54That's not mediocre.
01:55Yes, it is.
01:56I don't think so.
01:56Amongst champions, Celtics had a better year in the regular season.
01:59Yes.
02:00Pistons had a better regular season.
02:01Yes.
02:01OKC, the Spurs, Diver.
02:03They were tied with the person you hate the most in LeBron and the Lakers.
02:07They were tied in the regular season.
02:08Yeah.
02:09That's where this all comes from.
02:10That's why Mike Brown didn't deserve any coach of the year.
02:15No, he shouldn't have been.
02:16Should have gotten at least five or six votes.
02:17No, he shouldn't have got any votes that underachieved in the regular season,
02:20if anything, because how are you this dominant?
02:22And you're only one.
02:24This is supposed to be a 60-win team that in the regular season,
02:27Mike Brown coached the 50-foot.
02:28I'm not sure if the Knicks are ever going to lose again.
02:30They're not going to lose again.
02:30Maybe not this year.
02:31It might not be fair to the rest of the NBA going into next year,
02:34because now it's next year, and I'm already looking forward.
02:37The Knicks have won the championship.
02:39It's a wrap.
02:39This is going to be like the Dallas championship.
02:41It's good, though.
02:42It's going to be great.
02:43It's going to be like the Dallas Mavericks championship.
02:45How many titles are they going to win?
02:46Oh, just one.
02:47They might win three or four.
02:49No, they're going to win one, but this one's really special.
02:52But when it's all said and done, the Oklahoma City Thunder, not a dynasty.
02:55The Mavericks team you talked about, not a dynasty.
02:57The Knicks, not going to be a dynasty, but that's okay.
03:00The Denver Nuggets, not a dynasty.
03:02The New York Knicks?
03:03Not a dynasty.
03:04I think we're looking at dynasty type stuff.
03:06I'd be shocked if they were dynasty.
03:06Because they're the best collection of players.
03:09No, they're not.
03:09They're the best team.
03:10No, they're not.
03:11Do they have the best player in the league?
03:12No, they do not.
03:13Is Jalen Brunson underappreciated?
03:15Yes, he is.
03:15Is Jalen Brunson a bona fide superstar?
03:19100%.
03:19And if you didn't believe it going into this postseason,
03:22you have to believe it now.
03:23And he needs to be talked about in the same breath as SGA, as Giannis,
03:29as Joker, as Luka.
03:31He's not even the MVP of his own team right now.
03:34He is.
03:34No, he's not.
03:34Right now, finals MVP is not Jalen Brunson.
03:37No, it's not.
03:38It's Brunson all day.
03:39It's Carl Anthony Towns.
03:40The steal to steal and the free throw to solidify game two?
03:46Carl Anthony Towns is destroying Wimby right now.
03:49No, no.
03:50Do not listen to Craig about this.
03:51Right now, the finals MVP right now is Carl Anthony Towns,
03:56who, because they've allowed him to play physically,
03:59has not gotten into foul trouble, has been extremely physical with Wimby
04:03because he's an older, bigger guy, is making big shots,
04:06rebounding, playing tremendous defense.
04:08The best player on the Knicks so far these first two games,
04:10despite the narrative about Jalen Brunson,
04:13is clearly, by a wide margin, Carl Anthony Towns.
04:17And I know the city doesn't love him.
04:18And I know you don't love him.
04:19No, no, by the way, I do love him.
04:20And the city has fallen back in love with him.
04:22But he is the MVP right now.
04:23He's in the conversation.
04:25No, no, no.
04:25If the series continues as is, there is no doubt,
04:29Carl Anthony Towns is the MVP.
04:31It'll be an interesting vote if it continues the way he's gone.
04:34Because he's pooping at the highest level he's ever been.
04:35I agree.
04:36It'll be interesting, though.
04:37Again, I'm not going to.
04:38Brunson shot 30% a couple of these games.
04:41By the way, I don't care which Knicks catcher.
04:43You can give it to Landry Shatman for all I care.
04:45He's been excellent as well.
04:46Yeah, the MVP is an irrelevant award to me.
04:50It's the Larry O'Brien trophy that I do care about.
04:52And that's winning a championship.
04:54I don't care who wins the, what do we call the MVP trophy?
04:57Is it the Michael Jordan Award, I assume?
04:59As the greatest passable player of all time, I believe.
05:02Not the LeBron Award.
05:03You may have noticed that.
05:04But in any event, that being said, we could argue who the MVP is.
05:08It doesn't matter as long as the Knicks win a championship.
05:11But they are the most disrespected, underappreciated championship team.
05:14I think maybe, and I was thinking about this with Ethan on our drive-in today
05:18because I picked him up, maybe the most underappreciated champion
05:21in the history of all of organized sports, not just basketball.
05:24What?
