00:00But this is what happened a week and a half ago on this show.
00:02Let's just see how the predictions went.
00:04Someone says Nixon 6, they're scared.
00:07They don't have the balls to say Nixon 5.
00:09They belong on the porch with the dog for protection.
00:12Right, but...
00:13Nixon 5, that's the prediction.
00:17Bang.
00:17Nixon 5, that's the prediction.
00:19Because now I do, I know more basketball than everybody else on the planet.
00:22I also have balls to pick what my heart tells me to pick.
00:25Nixon 5.
00:26Now, you were Nixon 7.
00:27Yeah.
00:27Which is not a bad pick.
00:28Wrong, of course.
00:29But not a bad pick, considering you're a Sixers fan.
00:32And you thought the Spurs were the new team of the century.
00:36So, all well and good there.
00:37Not just that.
00:38And you haven't seen, really, to be fair, it's not your fault.
00:41When you watch, you know, average at best loser basketball,
00:45for as long as you've watched it in Philadelphia,
00:47how can one expect you to be able to talk intelligently about the sport?
00:52That's why you need better players and better teams
00:55to be able to break down the great sport of basketball.
00:58No, no, no.
00:59Not your fault, by the way.
01:00You know I love you.
01:01The punk-ass Spurs had double-digit leads in all five games.
01:05That is correct.
01:06If Mitch Johnson had a pulse and De'Aaron Fox wasn't a moron,
01:12I would have been completely right about that pick.
01:14You know, someone broke it down.
01:16The odds of the Knicks coming back from double digits five times in it
01:20is somewhere around $289 million to one to do what they did.
01:26This should have been based on how the games were played,
01:30the way they all played out, the Knicks won at five.
01:32The odds say that's a distant series if you look at the numbers.
01:35And by the way, the Spurs led for 72% of the time from tip to whistle.
01:40Right.
01:40They should have if they're better coached and they're only veteran
01:44that's really in the rotation, knows how to manage a basketball game.
01:48They win more.
01:49They still lose the series.
01:50But your prediction is closer to mine.
01:53It's closer.
01:54It didn't turn out that way.
01:55But I appreciate the attempt there.
01:57I'll break it down to numbers.
01:58That's what I do.
01:59Here's the question, which I think is a fair question to ask.
02:02And I think I know you're deciding on it.
02:05Obviously, we have not discussed it before the show.
02:07I'll give you a choice, A or B.
02:09There's no C here, okay?
02:10Yeah.
02:11Do you think the Knicks won the title more so because of A, the Spurs choked,
02:17or B, because the Knicks won it?
02:20Well, here's the tough thing.
02:22If you're going to just give me those two scenarios.
02:24That's what I'm giving you.
02:25For the sake of this conversation.
02:26No.
02:27Then the Knicks won it for this reason.
02:28Go ahead.
02:29Because I don't think it's a true choke when you have so many players on the
02:34Knicks who go and take it.
02:35What I mean is OG still had to, regardless if they boxed them out or not,
02:40have the wherewithal to inbounds the ball, track the ball, get that tip.
02:44That happened.
02:45Yeah, smart play, right.
02:45But Brunson, in that game five, hooking the way.
02:49As soon as he sees Castle, I don't know why Castle's not on him,
02:52don't you get me started.
02:53Is it on him?
02:54He sees, oh, my God, this is my time to shine, and he went and did it.
02:58So, while I don't think it was a choke, there is another option that I think
03:02doomed the Spurs that wasn't choking.
03:05I still give credit to the Knicks.
03:07Yeah, the Knicks deserve credit.
03:09Look, I want to say it's all Knicks because the Knicks came up big.
03:12They're the best fourth quarter team we've ever seen in the postseason.
03:16They're the clutches team in the fourth quarter we've ever seen.
03:18They're probably arguably the worst first quarter team we've ever seen.
03:21It's unbelievable.
03:21In the NBA Finals specifically.
03:23It's unbelievable.
03:23Because obviously they dominated to get there.
