00:00How do the Spurs get back into the series?
00:04Okay, well, I think, Dan, before we get into that,
00:07we've got to understand how close these are.
00:09With a minute and 11 to go in game one, the Spurs are down two,
00:15and De'Aaron Fox commits a bad foul on Mikkel Bridges, needless.
00:20They make two free throws to go up four,
00:22and the Spurs go down and Wimby turns the ball over.
00:25It really came down to just a couple of plays.
00:28Then last night, I mean, the Spurs come back and get the lead,
00:33and then we all saw it.
00:35Wimby rebounds the ball, score tied.
00:38We're going to go up and, you know, win the game.
00:42I think Mitch Johnson did a great job.
00:44Don't call timeout and let them get their defensive unit on the floor.
00:47Don't let them set their defense.
00:49And he inexplicably turns the ball over and turns right around in fouls.
00:54But it's come down to a couple of plays.
00:58How they – where they have to improve.
01:00Number one, simplest thing in the world.
01:02Simple but not easy to do.
01:05They've got to take care of the ball.
01:06They've lost the turnover battle in both games.
01:08They can't afford to do that at this level.
01:11Number two, simple.
01:13Wimby and Castle have to play a lot better.
01:15Wimby especially has got to get off to better starts.
01:18His two first halves, 16.7 rebounds, you know, which is the equivalent of the game.
01:25His two second halves, 39.14 rebounds.
01:28He's got to get off to a better start.
01:30Now, I think what they've got to do to help him,
01:33he's got to start catching the ball closer to the basket.
01:36Ninety percent of his catches have been behind the arc.
01:41Look, he can shoot the ball.
01:42I just know if you're the other coach, if you're Mike Brown,
01:46every second Wimby spins behind the arc, Mike Brown's happy.
01:51You've got a 7'4 guy that's not putting pressure on your defense.
01:55And then the only adjustment I think defensively, their defense has been good.
01:59It's not like New York's having a good time of things offensively,
02:04but I think they need to be more compact.
02:06I think they're overextended a lot, opening up driving lanes.
02:10And even though they're covering for each other well,
02:13they're being forced to go into a lot of long rotations,
02:17which has opened up the three for the Knicks.
02:20So I don't think it's anything, you know, real complicated.
02:26At this level, a couple of plays a game make the entire difference.
