00:00Yeah, the one thing I will say about the traveling Knicks fan base is because a lot of the Knicks
00:07fans have realized it is much cheaper to fly to San Antonio.
00:11And I mean, fly, hotel, all your meals, okay, get seats, and then do it again for game two than
00:21to get to one game at Madison Square Garden.
00:24Like, that's a big part of, you know, again, the traveling fan base.
00:28But I do think, Coach, as someone who believed in the Knicks in this series, one of the reasons that
00:37that was possible for me, and I think, gosh, I have to be careful with how I do this, why
00:44it doesn't seem possible for others, is noticing that they are playing different.
00:54And that this team, and it's miraculous, because teams don't do this, but down 2-1 to Atlanta, it's not
01:04like, oh, all of a sudden they just got hot.
01:06Or, eh, you know what, they've just been lucky, right?
01:11No, no, no, no, no.
01:12The Knicks changed their identity, in my opinion.
01:17And that is what's made them easier to believe in, ever since that happened.
01:25And the results that followed, of course, the changing of the identity.
01:30They went from the Brunson dominant, dribble, dribble, dribble, to a team that unlocks what should be an excellent starting
01:44five.
01:45I mean, Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns are perennial all-stars, so I shouldn't have to really sell you
01:51on that piece of it.
01:52You know, they didn't trade for McCall Bridges for five first-round picks for fun.
01:59He was an all-star caliber player.
02:01A lot of people thought OG flashed all-star potential during his run in Toronto.
02:08And Josh Hart is a super elite role man.
02:12So, of course, that five should be dominant.
02:16They hadn't figured out how to unlock it.
02:19And now they have.
02:21It's that increased ball movement.
02:23It's point cat.
02:24And what is not surprising, Coach can talk about this.
02:28The idea of reward your big man, right?
02:32Gets a block, sprints the floor, throw it to him.
02:35Um, what's happening is everyone is being rewarded offensively, right?
02:41Brunson's still getting his, by the way.
02:42He's able to get it easier a little bit now, okay?
02:45But Cat is so involved.
02:48Bridges is so involved.
02:51OG is so involved.
02:52It's translating to their defense.
02:55The Knicks have both the best offense and defensive rating in the entire postseason.
03:03That's, you know, you don't just fall backwards into that.
03:05They've really unlocked their full potential here, Coach.
03:10And that is why, look, I'm not going to say, of course I knew the Knicks would be up 2
03:15-0.
03:16But I always thought they would be 1-1 at worst.
03:20And I would have been more surprised if the Spurs were up 2-0 than the Knicks.
03:25Because the Knicks entered this series on an 11-game winning streak.
03:29They haven't lost in ages.
03:31And I think we can really point back to a change in play style, J.Y., that informs why they're
03:38doing what they're doing.
03:40You know, the evolution of Mike Brown is something that's going to be studied should the Knicks win this championship.
03:49And for him to have the gumption and the balls down two games or one against Atlanta to say, this
03:54isn't working.
03:55Shout out to Cat because there was rumors that Cat was the one that went to Mike Brown and said,
03:59let me run the offense.
04:01Let me take it from the high post.
04:03And you've seen it.
04:04And if you think about it, folks, if you go back, I think it was Game 3.
04:10Mike Brown Bridges, I don't know if he scored that game, right?
04:15And it's like they've unlocked.
04:17And I was thinking about this because I remember when the Knicks won Game 1.
04:21And they said the Knicks were the first team to win.
04:24They're looking to be the first team to win Game 1 on the road and win a championship since the
04:312004 Pistons.
04:33And I said, there's your comp.
04:35There's your comp.
04:37Because when you look at this Knicks team, they have become, Kevin, about the sum of their parts.
