00:07Does that come down to the coaching and figuring out the roles for players?
00:10Because, like, I always go back to that Jordan team.
00:13Everybody had a role on those great Jordan teams.
00:15Everyone knew what Pippen was.
00:17He was the Robin there.
00:18Everyone knew what Rodman's role was on the team.
00:21It looks like he's really accepted that role right now.
00:24That comes down to the head coach's influence, don't you think?
00:28Well, the coach has to establish a relationship with his key players, okay?
00:34And he has to earn the respect of all of those players
00:36so that the players will listen to what he is asking them to do.
00:40The key thing is your two top or three top players.
00:43A lot of times they have three top players.
00:45You've got to get them to buy into your philosophy.
00:48Mike Brown was known for his defense.
00:50That's why the Warriors brought him in to help with their defense.
00:52Nick's defense has been outstanding.
00:54And obviously, whatever he was selling, they've bought into it.
00:57And to his credit.
00:58And so that's one of the reasons they are where they are.
01:01But I think what happens when the players buy into what you're selling
01:05and they start to see results, now you've got something special
01:08because now they really, truly believe.
01:11They may give you a shot initially, Dan.
01:13But if it's not working, you sure as hell better come up with a change of plans
01:18to make sure that they respect what you're talking about
01:21and that it's working and they're accomplishing what they want to accomplish
01:25by doing what the coach is asking you to do.
01:27And so in the next case, that's working exceptionally.
01:30I'm helping from Mike, really good guy.
01:32And yeah, they're playing outstanding basketball right now.
01:36Probably even more consistent than OKC, who's been a little bit up and down.
01:41So it'll be interesting to see.
01:43I would be very shocked if that's not the finals coming up.
01:45I think both of those teams will wind up winning.
01:47I really thought after game one and two that the Spurs would have a shot
01:52when they got back home.
01:53But man, what a performance on the part of OKC to come back from that horrendous start.
02:01Boy, that took a lot and showed me a lot of character that that team has.
