00:00Mike Brown has done such a great job.
00:02Have you been surprised?
00:04No, because Mike Brown did a great job with the Warriors.
00:08They brought him in for his defense,
00:09and Mike Brown is a really good coach,
00:11and the Knicks' defense has gotten better,
00:13and they're playing both ends of the court exceptionally well.
00:16And here's the thing that I said.
00:18You have to give great credit for the resiliency of the Knicks
00:21and the fact that they have never quit,
00:23and they've come from behind.
00:25They were down double digits, and they fought,
00:27and they just come back.
00:28I mean, not many teams are going to put the effort forth
00:33that they put forth to come back from 29 points down.
00:35I mean, that's embarrassing to lose a 29-point lead.
00:39I don't care if it's on the road.
00:41I mean, you just don't do that.
00:42And what the heck is the coach saving his timeouts?
00:45You know, if you have to, you take back-to-back timeouts, my God,
00:49if you have to do it.
00:50I mean, you have to stop the run, the momentum.
00:53Then you have to give some guidance to your team
00:55and tell them, like I say, no three-point shots.
00:57Stop it.
00:58We attack the basket.
00:59We pass.
00:59We move.
01:00We use the shot clock.
01:01Let's play.
01:02You got a guy that's struggling.
01:03Take him out of the game.
01:04Put one of your other bench players, like a Harrison Barnes,
01:06into the game and utilize him and just play intelligent basketball
01:10because there's no way, if they had done that,
01:12that the Knicks would have had enough time
01:14to be able to get back in the game.
01:17How impressed have you been, Rick, with Jalen Brunson?
01:20And like you said, I mean, you're down 29.
01:22You're down 14 in game three.
01:25You're down, again, 12 points in another ball game.
01:28And yet that kid just seems resilient.
01:30I mean, have you been surprised with his play?
01:34No, I've been very impressed by his play.
01:36He's shown that he has great confidence in himself,
01:39even if he's struggling and he's not shooting the ball well.
01:42And, you know, in a lot of the games he scored a lot of points,
01:43but he's taken a lot of shots to get it.
01:45But he doesn't allow his poor performance to affect him
01:50to the point that he doesn't still try to go out
01:53to do the things he knows he's capable of doing,
01:55which basically comes down to he is a supremely confident individual.
02:00And confidence is the one quality that you have to have
02:03if you want to be a great player.
02:04You must believe in yourself.
02:07Brunson believes in himself.
02:09You know, Carl Anthony Towns, Rick, I mean,
02:13have you been surprised with his play?
02:15No, I've liked him.
02:17I met him when he was a young kid, had dinner with him,
02:19at a function in one of the casinos,
02:23the Hall of Fame in basketball does stuff with up there in New England.
02:27And I was very impressed with him, very intelligent guy.
02:31Plays hard, does a terrific job.
02:34I'm impressed by seeing how aggressive he's been going to the basket.
02:38I just, I really like what he's done.
02:40And here's a guy that got in foul trouble.
02:41He didn't know that to diminish him.
02:43He still came in and still put up some really good numbers.
02:45He's an important and integral part of the success
02:48of that Knicks basketball team.
02:50So, you're on the right side.
02:50We're going to do that.
