00:00don't you agree coach maybe we'll start there that maybe that's what mike brown has done for this
00:05next team here here they are two and oh and i've always heard that he's accountability guy
00:10you know he's one of those guys maybe the most underrated coach in the nba right now and i gotta
00:16tell you san i i didn't think a year ago when james dolan made that move knocking out tom
00:21thibodeau and putting mike brown in there it actually turns around and you know in hindsight
00:25that it looked like the right move he looks like the right coach for the new york knicks don't you
00:30agree well he's done a fantastic job here's i think mike's got i mean put aside all the x and
00:39o stuff
00:40um i think mike's got two really strong characteristics i think you know you talked
00:47about accountability and i think where that all starts and where mike gets respect from
00:55players is he does hold people accountable but he starts with himself mike holds himself
01:04accountable and you'll hear him say it after games like i should have done this i didn't do a good
01:10enough job of this and i think players respond to that because it's a it's a group-wide thing mike's
01:18not saying i got all the answers and you're screwing it up he's holding everybody accountable including
01:24him and his coaches and then the other thing mike has that i think makes him outstanding is there's
01:33a humility about him and i think people confuse what the humility means it's not i'm not talking about
01:40the modesty which mike also is um but he has the humility to constantly want to get better he's not
01:51a guy who
01:51thinks he has all the answers he listens to assistant coaches he's open to ideas he'll listen to players
02:00because it's not like i'm being a nice guy it's a humility of i don't have all the answers but
02:08i want
02:09to find all the answers so i need to open up so those are the two things that have always
02:14impressed me
02:16about mike um coached against him a lot when i was in orlando and he was in cleveland we were
02:22two of
02:22the best three teams in the east so there was uh you know some rivalry to that and i had
02:31coached against
02:32against him in big games i have great respect for him both as a coach and as a person
02:37you
