A passenger travelling on a Hyderabad Metro Rail service from Nagole to Raidurg was fined and booked after allegedly placing his foot on a metro window and refusing to stop despite objections from fellow passengers.

According to Hyderabad Metro Rail officials, the incident took place on Monday while the passenger was travelling on the Nagole–Raidurg route. Several commuters reportedly objected to his behaviour and asked him to remove his foot from the window.

However, officials said the passenger allegedly argued with fellow travellers and insisted on continuing to sit in the same manner despite repeated objections.

A fellow commuter subsequently lodged a complaint with metro authorities, following which action was initiated.

The passenger was detained by police upon arrival at Raidurg Metro Station. A complaint was later filed at Raidurg Police Station, where a case was registered against him.

The individual was identified as Chaitanya.

Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) General Manager (Security) Srinath Reddy stated that a fine of ₹250 was imposed on the passenger under relevant provisions of the Metro Rail Act for violating public transport norms.

A video showing the passenger sitting with his foot resting on the metro window was widely circulated on social media, drawing criticism from commuters and members of the public.

Many social media users described the behaviour as lacking civic sense and called for stricter enforcement of rules to maintain discipline and cleanliness in public transport systems.

Metro authorities reiterated the importance of following passenger etiquette and complying with regulations to ensure a comfortable travel experience for everyone.
