00:00The unity government's focus is on carrying out its duties in governing the country, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said today

00:07over the upcoming SNAP election in Johor.

00:11Anwar also brushed off speculation that parliament would be dissolved so the 16th general election could be held concurrently with

00:19the Johor polls, according to Berita Harian.

00:23Anwar, the Pakatan Harapan chairman, was asked whether he would seek parliament's dissolution after the Johor Assembly was dissolved on

00:31Monday.

00:33In the 2022 Johor polls, Barisan National won 40 of the 56 seats up for grabs, while Pakatan Harapan won

00:4112, Berkatan National 3 and Muda won.

00:45There has been speculation that Anwar will call for an early GE16, possibly in the second half of 2026, potentially

00:54aligning it with the Malacca and Johor state polls.

00:58However, GE16 is only due by February 2028.
