00:01Yesterday was a day of sunny spells and showers, and it's a very similar setup today.
00:08Reason for that is courtesy of hello, pressure to the north of the country.
00:11This has become slow moving, so it's going to continue to drive in showers or longer
00:16spells of rain in during the course of the day, and we're already seeing one of those
00:20bands of showers moving in across parts of Wales and into England this morning.
00:25Either side of it, there was a lot of showers in the mix, and some of these showers again
00:29will be locally heavy and thundery, but these showers will be fairly fast moving, so they
00:34won't really linger for any length of time.
00:37Fairly breezy, especially through the English Channel, and those winds will certainly take
00:42the edge off some of these temperatures, with highs of 19 across the south and 16 across
00:47parts of Scotland.
00:49Now those showers continue into the evening, particularly across Northern Ireland and Scotland,
00:54but they do start to ease and become less frequent from the south and west overnight.
01:00And we do eventually see some clearer spells developing across the east towards dawn.
01:06Overnight temperatures generally are unremarkable, with overnight lows of 10 degrees across the
01:12south and 9 degrees across the north.
01:15But step out into the countryside, you can take a degree or so off of these values.
01:20Now Friday promises to be a drier and brighter day, especially across England and Wales, courtesy
01:25of a slight ridge of high pressure that is moving in from the west.
01:29But the showers continue unabated across parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland.
01:35And it's another fairly mild day, with temperatures 19 across the parts of the south and 14 across
01:43the north.
01:44And these values are very close to average for the time of year.
01:49As we move our way through towards the weekend, turning increasingly unsettled, this area of
01:54cloud and rain to the west will move in overnight, bringing a spell of wet and windy weather early
02:00Saturday.
