20 March - National morning forecast presented by Dan Stroud
Transcript
00:00Good morning.
00:01Well, Thursday was yet another warm spring-like day for many of us across the country, and
00:07the reason for that was courtesy of an area of high pressure.
00:10This area of high pressure is set to dominate the scene over the coming few days, but subtle
00:14changes in its position will allow slightly cooler temperatures to start to actually filter
00:19in.
00:20But it's quite a chilly start, especially across parts of the east this morning, with
00:25some mist and fog patches, but that will quickly lift quite quickly during the morning, leaving
00:31behind a spring-like day with plenty of sunshine on Arthur right the way across the board.
00:39It's another warm day, especially across the north and east, where temperatures will actually
00:44reach 16 or 17 here.
00:46Across England and Wales, highs are 14, 15, maybe 16 is possible.
00:51Now, those temperatures will quickly fall away as the sun goes down, with quite a widespread
00:58but chilly night to come, with increasing amounts of cloud across the far north and west, but
01:04we do again see an increasing chance of some mist and fog patches forming by dawn.
01:09But it's a chilly night, especially across parts of England and Wales, with temperatures
01:13falling low enough for a touch of grost in one or two prone spots.
01:17Across the north, with thicker cloud, temperatures remaining up in the high single digits.
01:24So that chilly start to Saturday morning, with a few mist and fog patches again, that will
01:29actually quite quickly lift, with another fine and beautiful day across much of England and
01:34Wales.
01:34Slight different picture across the extreme north and west, with increasing amounts of
01:38cloud here.
01:39And that cloud will be thick enough to produce a little bit of light drizzle here and there
01:44at times.
01:45But again, temperatures generally around average for the time of year, with highs of 16 across
01:51the south, 11 or 10 across the north.
01:54And as we move our way through into Sunday, not a huge amount changes.
01:59The area of cloud and rain across the north will gradually start to sink southwards, but
02:03it's another largely dry day and sunny one across England and Wales.
02:07And that is your forecast.
02:09Bye for now.
