01:03abc news dog left alone in a truck apparently set off a shotgun shooting a woman in the arm

01:09just outside a store in nebraska according to scott's bluff police and this is no bluff the driver

01:16went into the store to buy something when his dog accidentally triggered the shotgun hitting a woman

01:22at a stoplight who had her arm out the window and i know what happens to dogs when they bite

01:28what happens to dogs when they shoot people now i don't think there's going to be any kind of criminal

01:32or civil liability for the dog but what we are talking about is recklessness on the part of the

01:37dog owner leaving the firearm in a place where anyone can access i mean think about if a child had

01:42gotten the gun we'd be talking about this in a very similar way but a dog clearly had touched the

01:46in some sort of way his paw a nose whatever may be and it went off this is a loaded

01:52i'm looking at nebraska law maybe there's a theory of second degree assault here for recklessly harming

01:58someone else but we'll see where this goes because i don't think any charges have been filed as yet
