00:28of it until i heard this story about a man who have auto brewery syndrome never heard of it never
00:35heard of it out of town for real auto brewery syndrome damn yeah never heard of it we are not
00:41smart man i'm sitting here i thought yep yep i know what that is yep yep yep so um for
00:48those who
00:49don't know what i've heard of this before see i was right i didn't know he's just heard of it
00:54before
00:54i might have heard of it before tell me what it is all right here's what it is um for
00:59the people
00:59who don't know yeah if you were to eat lots of carbs and sugar and you felt dizzy or even
01:05drunk after
01:06you might have what's called auto brewery syndrome this is a rare condition that affects fewer than
01:12100 people and it's caused by a rare stomach fungi that converts foods high in sugar or carbs into
01:20ethanol as a result some people can actually get very drunk without having a single alcoholic drink
01:28that sounds like an excuse to me what you mean an excuse so i ate some i ate a sandwich
01:33and now i'm
01:33drunk because in my stomach right it turns that that's an excuse i'm not saying i might not ever use
01:39it i'm just saying how is that an excuse this is a medical condition john lopez how many people are
01:44there in the world seven billion oh eight billion something like that i don't know a hundred yeah
01:50that's an excuse apparently this is a thing man so um here is a guy by the name of mark
01:57maggiardo he was on the tamron hall show talking about this rare condition and how much trouble would
02:04put him through you had not had a drop of alcohol no i was an athletic director at the time
02:08and i was
02:09leaving a boys golf match and i bought both school districts uh dinner hot dog french fries soda i ate
02:16with them i pulled out of the parking lot i called the board of education vice president there was a
02:21bullying situation i wanted to check up on i got pulled over having phone in my hand and again it
02:26was
02:26right around 0.18 what was harder at that time like the legal consequences or not being believed
02:34not being believed 100 you know just um it was it was friends colleagues family you know my parents
02:40my wife's parents you lost your job i did lose my job yes um and it your wife gina um
02:49even said she was
02:51ready to potentially leave you that's correct because they thought you were hiding something that's
02:56correct yes when you were told this i i i i've registered like 50 times and i still have no
03:03words
03:04it was just it was so overwhelming and i just it was so much so much joy actually when i
03:09when i when
03:10dr wick just came into the room and shook his head and he said you have a you have auto
03:15brewery syndrome
03:16you know um it's just it was so overwhelming for me and it was just it was years of people
03:22judging
03:23you know relationships strained with my family my wife's family you know and just uh it i just
03:30there's just so much joy at the time when i was finally had my answer it's 0.18 is crazy
03:35that's
03:36really high because he said that they had hot dogs and fries yeah i like that's not that much carbs
03:42fries are that's a lot of that's a lot of carbs i guess so yeah yeah hey i know that
03:46would give you 1.8
03:47yeah i was like you had to be drinking like legit drunk man yeah my thing about it is i
03:55get why you
03:55were like i didn't drink nothing why am i drunk i feel like you would have you should have had
03:58some
03:59level of feeling that you were quote-unquote inebriated well he probably did he might have a
04:03yeah he might have a high tolerance or i guess i built it over time because of this yeah that's
04:09he's literally lived with it the whole time this man almost lost his family over yeah that was the
04:14thing i hadn't considered the idea that everybody was just like so where are you hiding the flask you
04:18like what like i just had me i had me a burger some fries all right john right yeah yeah
04:26we know
04:26we know this is intervention damn it's like what do you mean the thing about it is it's it's completely
04:32unbelievable like you yeah they shouldn't have believed it right you know because like no really
04:38i've got this auto brewery syndrome okay honestly even the syndrome sound fake i'll be honest like
04:44it makes sense when you break it down but it sounds fake they should have called it something else
04:47yeah yeah it needs to be something in latin that made me feel better otherwise i got the same thing
04:51too you said auto brewery yes brewery yes word all right okay imagine all the people at the bar i
04:59got
04:59that too yeah that's what i'm saying i had it for years yeah but salute to him man i'm glad
05:05he got it
05:05straightened out i wonder i'm guessing he probably can't eat as much carbs yeah it's gotta be something
05:10like that some type of limit this is the one person for whom i will not roll my eyes when
05:14they say they
05:14own the keto diet you know i mean like it's all right you got it totally good hey you need
05:18to stay
05:18on that keto diet don't get behind the wheel with these yeah that's that's tough and he said he was
05:24an
05:24athletic director yeah like he was working with kids yeah i hope he ain't never drive the bus that whole
05:29community he's talking about we're talking about it he's a drunk yeah the thing could he get his
05:35job back after we found all this out because at first they were like man they thought he was a
05:39drunkard and yes understood yeah once we found out like it's kind of bad just to be like damn that
05:44sucks bro yeah and then move on yeah that's that's crazy man he had fries how many have you had
05:51today
05:52sir just a couple just i think i just had one large i mean i did supersize
05:58a few fries yeah nothing too crazy yeah just a glass of fries how about what like he gets in
06:04in the the group with the other people with auto brewery syndrome hey you want to get crazy
06:08got a supersize let's get crazy man
06:15it's the mixtape in the loop sports radio 610 so i ran across this uh this headline this is from
06:22time
06:22i guess time magazine california mayor resigns admitted to being the agent for china
06:28who a california mayor okay and i'm like wait wait what an agent for china so i had to go
06:36to this
06:36story to check it out so here is i guess this is from um uh is it time i think
06:43i forgot who is
06:44from oh this is news nation with the story or more on that all right other news from across the
06:50country
06:50tonight this one comes in from our los angeles affiliate ktla how about this the mayor of arcadia
06:57that's in los angeles county just north and east of downtown la now facing federal charges of acting
07:05as an agent of china eileen wang is set to appear in court this afternoon expected to plead guilty in
07:13the coming days to one felony count of acting as an illegal agent wang faces a potential sentence of up
07:23a website that she ran a few years ago called us news center which was meant for chinese americans
07:30the site is accused of posting articles and executing directives for the chinese government
07:35according to arcadia's website wang has already resigned from her role as the mayor of that city wow
07:43the thing that the thing that i'm having a hard time with if you knew you was some level of
07:48double
07:48agent or whatever the mayor of all jobs yeah that's the one that we wanted to the one that has
07:54this
07:54very uh public presence the perfect cover hide in plain sight as they say is it yeah hide in plain
08:00sight word it's making me look at all these other mayors like hey what you do on the side yeah
08:05what
08:05country think whitmire is uh you knew that's where you were going come on that's what i wasn't the
08:11first one who got here like who's whitmire is he from germany who's whitmire is he from russia and
08:16a spy for who's he spying for a russian spy let's find out his real name yeah that's too
08:23white of a name whitmire of all the jobs of all the jobs to have and this just i mean
08:29it feels like
08:30you you'd be able to go a lot better under the radar than being the damn mayor well again i
08:36just
08:36think you know whatever i think maybe he was hiding in plain sight as the perfect cover but beyond that
08:40even if you don't agree with that i i've always there are certain things that you're just better
08:46off not knowing because when you start thinking about it there's got to be spies all over man all
08:51around us like think about it why do i need to think about it i don't got no information that's
08:56why i'd rather not think about it but i used to think that all the time with mike melcher being
09:01up
09:01here acting like a robot maybe whoa yeah maybe like a sleeper agent maybe melcher is a spy uh hey
09:08for
09:09who i heard that a couple times russia and his parents russian yeah yeah i heard that quite a few
09:15times that he's actually a robot no i can see that but it truly is one of those things like
09:21if you
09:22think about it it just makes so much sense like all all these countries including the united states
09:26and other places but all these countries why would they not why would they not have you know hundreds
09:32among us yeah no that's that's the question i have is especially as the cold war has kind of has
09:38thawed um the whole idea of espionage and honestly this speaks kind of to the movies you notice that like
09:44the the spy thrillers they don't have the same like feel because we're not dealing with the same
09:49like kind of landscape i do wonder what espionage looks like in modern day and age and how much of
09:53it actually looks like the way that we think it does off of the tv a lot of it is
09:57just business
09:57related yeah you know in terms of uh you know uh trade secrets corporate secrets uh you know how
10:02they do things and again i don't have none of those neither yeah yeah you you got it big dog
10:06you
10:06trying to spy you picking the wrong person who's a spy right now here here yeah who who gives more
10:11spy but this is the thing the more that you give spy less spy like right it's almost like who's
10:16the
10:16least likely which i feel like now we're thinking too much about it yeah either way t-mail yeah
10:22most or least that's right i can see that that guy is awesome he is an awesome awesome
10:29it's the misstaping loop sports radio 610 remember last week when i played that uh the audio clip of the
10:37the win the philly beat in boston yes and they pretty much crashed the the broadcast desk yeah
10:44and brian scalabrini start chan you are ugly so i think i think philly kind of got there
10:52they kind of got the same result they got their comeuppance yeah they got swept by the knicks
10:58and it was a reporter out there in philly trying to do a hit after the game in the concourse
11:04which is
11:05a bad idea really bad idea there's a bunch of knicks fans there and this is how it sounded
11:10again action news reporter cheyenne corinne live inside xfinity mobile arena tonight cheyenne this game
11:15was brutal
11:32they all in front of the camera oh my gosh
11:37she's full she's full shot right now yeah
11:40hey man i gotta see that video too yeah that ended immediately i'd have just been like you know
11:46what back to you bob yeah they should have did that man they probably should have went outside
11:52it was the bad idea trying to do it in the concourse after a sweep like that against the uh
11:57against the knicks yeah that was bad man they saw that camera and they're like oh we over here
12:02oh boy yeah but what's the place to be safe here right doing it inside the arena i understand why
12:07you wouldn't want to do that but like outside the arena that's the i feel like there's more people
12:12available if you're familiar with their their kind of sports complex all three of their major um their
12:17major sports uh complex our buildings are in the same complex yeah so they just out there in the
12:23lots all of them you got to do it from the car or something yeah this is bad yeah no
12:29this is bad
12:30i mean if it's another team it probably won't happen yeah but you talking about the knicks yeah
12:35now and that's been the story there too like like how the knicks are taking over which by the way
12:39uh joel mb didn't really help uh his uh plea for some from well you mean you mean that his
12:46child
12:46didn't help him at the podium oh well that's the worst that's the worst yeah man i i will say
12:52though
12:52people are kind of everybody's going hard on the hey man stop bringing your kid to the podium at some
12:56level of like shield and i get that but now everybody is on that and it feels like
13:02that didn't hurt me too much oh come on that's that's so you said with your boy nick right on
13:07this one me yeah i side with reason and logic sure uh because like it's it's a shield why are
13:15we
13:16pretending it's anything else why why are you what what else could it possibly be i want to see my
13:22kids well you'll see them in five minutes spending time with his children you saw them before and you
13:25can see him in five minutes after ten minutes after week i don't think it really changes the
13:31dynamic of things though it absolutely ask your damn question ask your damn question
13:37who are you hey are you insane look i ain't no journalist like y'all but i would damn i
13:43would
13:43have lit him up yeah y'all me i'm not that's the journalist man i'm not a journalist don't sell
13:49yourself sure but i would have i would have asked the heavy questions on there reggie likes to give
13:55people the benefit of the doubt and i get it and it's admirable in a lot of ways it is
13:59so not admirable
14:00i wish reggie was a judge it is so not admirable right now it is very clear what they're doing
14:05to
14:06everyone to the kid it's clear daddy well you never hold me in your lap at these press conferences
14:11well i am today that's right come on boy i am today it's like on a day like today the
14:17thing that
14:17the thing that matters most to me was clear was your love family family is what matters most
14:22not no stupid championship ring nobody needs those what you need is the love of your child
14:27that's right joe way to keep your priorities all right i feel like coming around now finally
14:33all right i'll get y'all out of here on this it's the mitch sabin loot sports radio
14:38610 shout out to pain and pentagash you should listen to him every single morning like i was i
14:43woke up i hit the odyssey app i was listening to him on the way in and they i like
14:49when they go off
14:50on random topics and tangents on stuff i feel like i learned more about sean and self and specifically
14:57i learned a little more about seth okay and um they was having a conversation about lotion somehow
15:05and my jaw kind of hit the ground a little bit because i did not know this about seth pain
15:10i didn't know a damn thing about cocoa butter until i made it to the nfl right right yeah
15:14okay well that's mine um yeah that would be that would be mine it's uh bill burr's got a great
15:19bit
15:20on that on uh what did he say on uh just learning about actually using lotion and until he had
15:25black
15:26friends he never realized like that the uh the benefits of lotion uh it's awesome yeah it's awesome
15:32he never realized he was ashy before uh yeah and then he said yeah you got a couple of black
15:37friends
15:38and they they clued him in on no on what he had to do i'll tell you right now you're
15:42a super white
15:42guy i didn't i didn't know it ashiness was never something that had ever been that it ever i had
15:48ever heard about or anything until i got to college actually and you know start talking to guys about
15:54it and i'm like oh i actually am ashy it just doesn't show up on uh on your pasty white
15:59skin the
15:59same way it does another darker that's right man i he ain't know nothing about ashy till he got
16:05to college i mean you got to think about it he's a white dude from rural new york yeah like
16:09i said
16:10my jaw hit the ground y'all probably know about it more than that but yeah i just grew up
16:14knowing
16:15about don't you be ashy out here i knew about lotion cocoa butter all that stuff i never thought
16:21about that i only because only because the school i went to is very integrated you know that's
16:26the only reason probably but yeah what you're talking about and plus i think uh and maybe this
16:32is going to sound harsh or whatever i think black people call it ashy uh hispanics and whites call
16:36it something else you just your skin's dry you know your skin just feels dry i think it's the term
16:41as well i think also the level of dryness that you would need in certain certain people to determine
16:47it to be dry is different than i think what uh what some folks would consider ashy i think you
16:51can
16:51just feel it i i usually only yeah by the time you feel it i feel like we're well beyond
16:55ashy though
16:55that's the that's my general maybe uh but i'm again me it's just my hands is generally the only
17:00thing i've met elbows sometimes yeah are saying when i was growing up you want to be out here living
17:05like pookie from new jack city i will say though seth seth does bring up something that is one of
17:11my
17:11favorite things in sports which is how sports operates as a exchange of culture right like this is a
17:17small uh portion of that and it's one of the things that i kind of hope uh or at least
17:23i hoped
17:23before we saw all the negative sides of this that like we would get to see with tatia imai because
17:27nothing makes me happier than seeing like the uh the foreign player that comes and learns about us
17:31culture through the sport especially basketball when you when you hear the dudes who are talking
17:36in a way that you know that they don't talk in the home country because they are just in that
17:39locker room hanging out right there's a lot of these instances it's all kind of excited for the
17:44possibility of you know what does tatia imai latch on to first about american culture and apparently
17:49none of it is latching on very well and it's not helping his baseball that much but yeah i feel
17:52like that i would love to see what the moment was for seth when he got in there and his
17:56his teammates
17:57realized that he didn't know nothing about like hey what is that y'all rubbing on y'all i think
18:02he
18:02tried popeyes for the first time once he got to the nfl too if i'm not mistaken
18:08did he make the crucial faux pas of uh of the biscuit with no with nothing to drink oh i
18:12don't
18:12i mean like these are the things that i think i enjoy quite a bit of like one person learned
18:17about other culture or like the white boy wednesdays come on in the in the in the joint and all
18:21of a
18:21sudden dudes are like hey this song is actually really good what's this yeah hey no no no so
18:26where's the ox let me find let me find out what this song is so i can put it on
18:28my playlist this
18:29these are the things i love about sports yeah shout out to pain the pentagast shout out to seth pain
18:34i had i thought being ashy was a universal thing i think it's the term more than anything that is
18:38new to a lot of people or different to a lot of them the idea of moisturizing and look i
18:42can't
18:42speak for our white brethren because i'm not that that's not my experience let me know if you if what
18:47if i am wrong if i'm right whatever i feel like uh in more of our white brethren's homes uh
18:54lotion
18:54is reserved and moisturization is reserved for the ladies right the smell good and stuff those types of
18:59things yeah not not not not my experience uh i mean more more so because they do it like every
19:05night
19:05uh you know and i'm like i just need to do it use lotion when i need it you know
19:10which is every
19:11night all right you're on sports radio 610 that is the mixtape 120 p.m every weekday right here on
