00:08So we're still close to Lake Toya in Hokkaido
00:13and you can see Mount Yotei
00:15and you can see Lake Toya
00:17and you can see where we are.
00:20And we just stumbled on this place.
00:21We stopped because it was a gelati shop, right?
00:25And we rather like gelati.
00:27So we stopped and it was just a beautiful place.
00:32So that's Mount Yotei over there.
00:36And they've got this really cute little shop
00:40that sells gelati and ice cream
00:43and some other tasty things
00:45which we partook of.
00:49But isn't it beautiful?
00:51Just these open spaces.
00:52You don't sort of see open spaces like that in Honshu.
00:57On the big island.
00:58This is really Hokkaido, you know.
01:00Big open spaces.
01:03That'd be covered in rice fields if it was on Honshu.
01:07But just big open spaces.
01:09Just grass.
01:10A couple of goats.
01:14And this is nearby.
01:16This is another place that's nearby
01:17overlooking Lake Toya.
01:19And they're actually doing helicopter tours.
01:23So you could do a three minute flight
01:25for about $200.
01:30Which we didn't do.
01:34$200 for three minutes.
01:36It's a bit rough.
01:36And really all they did was to fly over the lake there
01:39and fly back again.
01:40So they're really only getting the same view
01:42that we were getting.
01:43They weren't going much higher than where we were.
01:46So no need for that.
01:56But it sure would be a bit of fun
01:58if you hadn't flown in a helicopter before.
02:00And what a great place to do it for the first time.
02:03Look at that.
02:04What a beautiful place.
02:09So again, Uniscor Global Park.
02:12So this is interesting.
02:14You can see photos of what the mountains looked like 1909.
02:18And then 1967.
02:21And this is how changing Hokkaido is so active.
02:24It's got active volcanoes all over it.
02:26It's got earthquakes all the time.
02:27So that it's actually changing all the time.
02:30So that these horizons, these mountains,
02:36are changing all the time with their eruptions and so on.
02:39And this is another view from a slightly different angle.
02:42So we're leaving the area now.
02:43We're heading north.
02:45And so this is just a quick.
02:48view from here.
02:49Oh, you can see, yeah, there's still snow up there.
02:52So it's still pretty cool for May.
02:57But it was very comfortable.
02:59It was just right.
02:59The temperature was just right.
03:00But just, yeah, a few little pockets of snow around the place.
03:03Snow in the mountains.
03:04So that's sort of goodbye to Mount Yote now.
