00:00Hey guys, another video for our Wheels in Japan playlist and our miniseries on crazy drivers in Japan.
00:05Those of you who have seen these crazy driver videos already would have seen lots of examples of craziness.
00:10Here's a guy with a phone in one hand and food in the other hand.
00:13I don't know how he steers, but anyway, that's what we see.
00:18All sorts of craziness and using phones, this guy scrolling the internet.
00:22Lots of speeding going on, lots of speeding going on.
00:26Almost every road, most of the traffic is speeding.
00:30So usually they don't get caught.
00:32However, sometimes they do.
00:35So if you look at this structure above the road here, you can see two cameras.
00:42So they are automatic speed cameras.
00:44However, they usually don't get activated until a car is doing over 40 kilometers over the speed limit.
00:52Right?
00:53Which is pretty amazing.
00:54So on this road that's 60 kilometers, they'd have to be doing over 100 in order to get a ticket.
01:00So they also have mobile versions of that as well.
01:04Sometimes they'll set up the mobile version and there'll be a bunch of coppers there actually pulling the cars over.
01:09And other places like this where it's harder to stop the cars, they just have the automatic camera.
01:15And then a guy sitting in a van and they just, the system takes a photo and you receive a
01:22photo of yourself driving your car at speed in the mail.
01:27Along with a money penalty and some points off your license.
01:32But still the chance of getting caught are pretty remote.
01:35There's also the old style policing where they sit on a corner and wait for guys to do wrongdoing.
01:49That particular intersection, they regularly sit there and they don't have to sit for long.
01:54Inevitably someone goes through the red light or goes past using their phone, holding their phone up to their ear
01:58or scrolling the internet.
02:00They write them a ticket.
02:01So when they do want to write a ticket, they can.
02:04It's easy enough.
02:05More videos.
02:06Coming soon.
02:07Watch the MILD and HIO.
02:07You're welcome.
02:07I'm welcome.
02:07Bye.
