00:00Hey guys, so thought you guys might be interested in seeing the inside of this camper.
00:05It's real chaos at the moment and it's been pretty well chaos since we got it
00:09because we've got a lot of stuff and we've got four people and the place is a mess.
00:13Two of our people are actually in an onsen at the moment, which means there's only two of us here.
00:18So it's a good opportunity to show you guys a bit of stuff.
00:21So first of all, there's the front area.
00:24It's just a normal setup.
00:25It's a Toyota diesel engine, four-wheel drive.
00:29It's got reversing camera and a navi and all the usual stuff that you get in a car like this.
00:36All pretty good.
00:38We've got a table here and it seats.
00:41One suitcase we haven't been able to get rid of.
00:44So seating here for four people and seat belts.
00:48These windows are really cool.
00:49Check this out.
00:50So you separate them.
00:53That's a fly screen there.
00:55You can't see at the moment, but it's dark outside, so you can't see outside.
00:59But that's just a fly screen.
01:00So usually you can just see outside.
01:02In fact, people will be able to see in at the moment.
01:04So close that fly screen and then pull up the curtain, basically.
01:12So then you can do that.
01:14That's just fly screen, which means during the day you can open the outside window.
01:19And then if you want a bit of privacy, you can do that up.
01:23That's pretty good.
01:24They've got cupboards.
01:27There's storage under most of the seats.
01:29We've been slowly the last couple of days trying to sort of put everything away in every little corner we
01:34can find to give us some more space.
01:36Lighting, they've got a good system in this one where they've got two batteries and two electrical systems.
01:43So the solar power on the roof, it doesn't add much to it.
01:47Most of it comes from the engine when we're driving, which we've been driving a lot, so that's been good
01:52keeping it charged.
01:53And then we've got the electrical cable when we go to a campsite that actually has power, we can plug
01:58it in.
01:58So we'll be doing that tonight, in fact.
02:00At the moment, we're just parked in the car park of an onsen.
02:04Above the cameras the girls had here, there's an air conditioner, which is pretty unusual for a camper van, isn't
02:11it?
02:12And just a normal remote.
02:13So that's an air con, same as we'd have in a house.
02:16There it is.
02:18So, sort of unusual.
02:19I did look at a lot of campers before we picked this one and didn't see that in any of
02:23the others.
02:24The other thing I didn't see in any of those is the microwave up there.
02:27There's a microwave oven, which is pretty unusual for a camper.
02:31Then there's a refrigerator down the bottom, which is a pretty good size one.
02:35And then some more storage cupboards.
02:36And there's a water, there's a big water tank out the back for the clean water, another water tank for
02:43the dirty water.
02:44There's a closet over there to the left that we've filled up with suitcases and other stuff that we couldn't
02:49put anywhere else.
02:50There's a single bunk at the bottom there that has its own lights and own windows.
02:55And then there's another single bed at the top that has its own lights.
02:59It doesn't have any windows.
03:00A little bit claustrophobic, that one.
03:01I tried that one.
03:02It freaked me out.
03:03And then up here above the cabin, we've got these two.
03:08A double bed, basically, with lights on both sides.
03:12So it's a pretty good setup.
03:13There's a TV here that we haven't turned on yet, I'm happy to say.
03:17Haven't touched the TV, which is really good.
03:19And I'd prefer that we don't, because it's a bit of a waste of time, really, when you're having fun,
03:23isn't it?
03:24So, yeah, it's pretty good.
03:25It's not too bad.
03:26We're pretty happy with lots of storage space.
03:28It goes really well on an open road.
03:30They ask us not to go over 80 kilometers an hour on the highway and around the town to stay
03:3760 or less, just because these things are really top-heavy.
03:42So they roll over easily.
03:45In the little package they gave us when they told us all about the thing, and they told us about
03:49the speed, they actually had photos in there of another one of these that someone had rolled over.
03:55And it was a mess, it was an absolute mess, so you can imagine.
03:59So it's really top-heavy.
04:00It's three meters high, so it's really top-heavy.
04:04So very easy to roll it over, very easy for it to roll over on the highway because of a
04:08strong wind.
04:09So, yeah, we try not to go too fast to sort of cruise along, which is fine anyway, because we're
04:14sightseeing, you know.
04:15And this whole Kyoto place is just amazing, we're loving it.
04:18There's just so much to see, so much beautiful scenery that you've seen by now.
04:23We showed you some of it, just amazing.
04:25So cruising around at a low speed, enjoying the view, is working well.
04:31So anyway, I knew somebody would ask what it was like in here, so now you know.
04:36It's pretty good.
04:37It's not bad.
04:38It's cramped, we're forever hitting our heads.
04:40You know, I'm just way too big for most of these spaces, but it's working.
04:44You know, it's fine, we've got everything with us, it's really comfortable.
04:48You know, it's really, really good.
04:49So anyway, that was the tour.
