00:01Welcome back to Alton Park. We're getting ready for our next race of the afternoon here.
00:05The grid is just getting set up for the super stocks and for many riders these days this is the
00:10gateway class to super bikes
00:12with only subtle differences between the machines that are out there.
00:15It's been taking a closer look at the bikes that will be on the grid in 2026.
00:20So this is David Allingham. He finished a close second in the Stocktower Championship last year
00:25and this is your 1000cc BMW stocker.
00:29Now, to the untrained, including myself, this might look like a super bike and it sounds like a super bike
00:37but it isn't. This is a lot of stock parts. It's virtually a bike you can go and buy in
00:42a shop so explain the difference.
00:44So for us it's just a bike that you can buy straight out of the showroom you know.
00:48We're not allowed to put any of the fancy parts on the bike like your subframe, your rear swing arm
00:52you know anything like that.
00:53The bike just has to kind of be as stock as it can be.
00:56It's a BMW M1000RR. It's an amazing bike. It comes out of the showroom at already 214.
01:03I'd found that difficult to believe. So you said this bike, stock motifs, 214 brake horsepower,
01:09compared to a super bike of what, 240?
01:12It comes out. You don't really need to be doing too much more to the bike because it's already fast
01:16enough.
01:16If anything, I'd dive some power out of it for the likes of Oaten Park here so you can use
01:21the power.
01:22So you're running with, you can alter some parts like I think you can alter yokes, you can alter foot
01:27rest positions,
01:28you can alter the dash. But one of the things, you can use kit electronics. What have you got that
01:34the super bike guys haven't then?
01:36So we've got the RCK electronics right and that comes on the bike so we can have traction control.
01:42I can alter my engine braking, I can alter my traction control as I ride. But the one thing we
01:47don't have, we have to run the more road tire.
01:50So we don't have as much grip as what the super bike guys get. I know they all say that
01:54you do, but you don't.
01:56So that's one thing that we have a massive benefit on and it tames the bike down.
01:59Obviously, I can control the bike a lot better when I'm not trying to wrestle a 215 horsepower bike.
02:04And the electronics can help a lot with that. That said, what's the difference in terms of lap times to
02:11a super bike?
02:12Because it's probably, what, a quarter, maybe less of the value of a build one of these in a super
02:18bike?
02:18Yeah, so to build one of these bikes for us, it's about 45 grand. I think the super bikes are
02:24a lot of crazier money.
02:25A lot more than that. What do you get for your extra 150k then?
02:29Yeah, exactly, exactly. So for us, you get about two seconds, they're about two seconds a lap faster than us.
02:35That's a day to six.
02:36Yeah, yeah.
02:37But sometimes, you know, on some tracks like the likes of Thruxton, I think I was only a second off
02:41them when I was in a qualified second last year.
02:44So, obviously, Thruxton's a really fast circuit. The traction control can help us around there, can't it?
02:49So, yeah, mate, for what you can buy just out of the showroom is amazing.
02:55How much more power do you need than 2.0?
02:56No, you don't. Yeah, you don't. You want to try to tame the bikes down, but obviously, we have a
03:00massive benefit with the traction control.
03:02This year, what are you expecting?
03:04Yeah, we want to go through that first place, don't we? We finished second last year to a really impressive
03:10Eli Mikatu.
03:11You know, I'm not saying we fought hard for second place, but, you know, Luke Mossy got hurt.
03:18And that gifted us the second. Josh Owens and everyone's fast riders as well.
03:23So, look, mate, for me, if I can turn up and our team can bring the best version of ourselves
03:30to every race,
03:32I can't see why not, why David Allen can't try and win a brother's championship.
03:36Good luck, lad. Thank you.
03:38It'd be great to see that he was so close last year, of course, but Ilya Mikulchik was the standout
03:43rider.
03:44And, Danny, you won that series twice, 2014, 2017.
03:47How much have these bikes moved on in the last decade?
03:50Yeah, quite a lot. I mean, when I won the championship in 2014, we weren't allowed any sort of kit
03:55electronics on them.
03:56And, yeah, they were a lot more stock then, so to speak.
03:59And, you know, things have moved on, like the electronics on the BMW and the standard brake systems they come
04:03with are really impressive.
04:05And, yeah, super incredible. And you see that with the lap times as well.
04:08Obviously, the tyres do improve as well, but the lap times have come on quite a lot.
04:12So, yeah, but, you know, David's full of confidence. He always has been.
04:16But I feel like he's starting this year off, you know, off the back of last year.
04:20Where he finished off strong. And even with Mossy in there, he seems full of confidence.
04:25Yeah, he does. You know, he's on a BMW. The pack is dominated by Hondas.
04:31I think it's about 28 Hondas, about six BMWs. We've got one Yamaha.
04:35We've got one Aprilia and one Ducati as well on the grid.
04:38But it amazes me that because right now or in the last couple of years,
04:41the BMW hasn't really been the superbike to be on yet.
04:44It floats the super stock or it's super competitive in super stock.
04:48And then you get the Ducati's and the Yamaha's that are so strong as superbikes,
04:51and no one's on them in stock yet.
04:53Yeah, it is. It's funny just the production rules of this class.
04:57I've got to say, David Allingham's lap was super impressive.
05:01You know, he's half a second clear of everybody else, which is a big margin around here.
05:06So he definitely looks like the favorite, but there's plenty of people we've got to look out for.
05:10Josh Owens, third in the championship last year, obviously a local lad.
05:14He's going to be well up for the scrap.
05:16Luke Moss, he would definitely would have been in the hunt for the championship,
05:19but obviously broke his hip, was out for three rounds last year.
05:23So again, he'll be expecting it, but it'll be interesting to see whether Allingham's
05:28advantages is going to come through to the race or whether they're going to be able to close him down.
05:32Yeah, Declan Connell as well was quite impressive.
05:34Yes, of course.
05:35Yeah, that was cool.
05:36I mean, yeah, it's not easy to do, especially around here on 1,000.
05:40But yeah, I'm interested.
05:42I've always loved watching the Superstock and I'm looking forward to seeing how these guys get on.
05:46Yeah, it's a great class and it's, as you said earlier, Matt, you know,
05:50it's a perfect feeder for the guys coming to Superbikes.
05:53They've got a little bit of electronic help to get them used to the vast power.
05:57But it is still a jump and we're seeing that.
05:59Matt Mikkelczyk, obviously, you know, he was superb in his series last year.
06:03So impressive.
06:04You know, obviously, he's learning the Superbike 18th today or 17th today in Superbikes.
06:09So, you know, there is a there is that jump up with when you get to that power,
06:13more power, 240 or break horsepower with no electronics, but it's a wonderful class.
06:18We've got some real talent here.
06:19Yeah.
06:19And the level in riders, of course, as well.
06:21It's, you know, Superbikes is is that next level up, isn't it?
06:24It has to be said.
06:25Well, as you can see, the the riders are out there on the grid now.
06:29I think James is amongst it somewhere for us as well.
06:33Where are you at, Whit?
06:34Yeah, I'm just to the side.
06:35The grid is just forming up and you've got to be really careful.
06:38The riders tend to come down to the front row, the front two or three rows down the outside.
06:42And obviously, with my my kind of mall's eyesight, I don't want to be getting sculled up by coming through.
06:52Right.
06:53This is we're going to start on the front row, maybe drop back depending who turns up.
06:57This is a very impressive qualifying for a young fella from Dunfermline called Declan.
07:03Conal, Declan, this is this is good for you.
07:05Any any front row in a competitive class like the Superstock?
07:09This is good.
07:10Yeah, to be honest, mate, it's absolutely amazing.
07:13Since I've joined this team, it's been absolutely brilliant.
07:15There's no pressure on myself.
07:17I just get to ride the bike.
07:18Happiest I've ever been on a bike.
07:20And you know yourself, a happy rider is a fast rider.
07:22So you're absolutely buzzing.
07:24This class seems to be a mix.
07:25Obviously, a good road bike is going to make you into a good stocker because you can't alter that much.
07:30Seems to be a mix of most of the Honda, but then the BM.
07:33Is there any differences you can see?
07:35The BM is good.
07:37It's good at going in, stopping it and firing it out.
07:39I mean, David's absolutely on it this weekend.
07:42It's going to be hard to beat, but I'm going to try and stick with him and see what we
07:44can do.
07:45Good luck, Declan.
07:46Cheers, mate.
07:47Yeah, good kid.
07:48We've seen him in the championship for a couple of three years now.
07:51I'm going to, I'll tell you what, I'm going to, we'll go back second row.
07:57Because we'll have a word.
07:58If it's about, it looks like Josh is away.
08:00Right.
08:01This is Matt Trullo, also on the Honda.
08:05Matt, you've been in a couple of classes now.
08:07You've found your home in stock.
08:08South, second row, good enough for you, or did you want more?
08:12Yeah, I've been building up, really, all for the last four years with this team, getting better and better.
08:16So, they know me and I know them now.
08:19To be honest, I'm not the best qualifier, so my goal was two, first two rows.
08:23So, I'm happy that I've done that.
08:24And then, in the race, I'll do what I can to try and stay with Allingham and see what we've
08:29got in the last five laps.
08:30Good lap from Allingham.
08:31Yeah, I mean, he's always been quite good round here.
08:33You know, we've known that and you know that he's going to be always at the front end when you
08:37come here.
08:39But I think maybe in the last five laps, it'll be a little bit different.
08:41So, we'll just see when we get there.
08:43Good luck, Matt.
08:43Cheers.
08:45Right, let's have a look.
08:45Who's here now?
08:46He's just coming in.
08:47I was going to have a word with Luis.
08:48He's still got his helmet on.
08:49So, what I will do is nip across to the Padgett Honda of Luke Mossy.
08:55Luke, we always like to come and have a word with you, especially when in the front row.
08:58But you know what?
08:58If you're on row eight, I wouldn't mind a walk back to talk to you, son.
09:02You're a nice guy, aren't you?
09:04Yeah, no, just a bit of yours.
09:07So, you've made your home now, having done really well in Superbike, you've made your home in Superstock.
09:13You told me last year, look, you need to be at the front.
09:14When you've been at the front in your career like you have, every class that you've run, there's nothing like
09:20winning races, is there?
09:21No, that's what we all do it for.
09:22You know, unfortunately, some poor sods have got to finish last.
09:25But, yeah, another year with Padgett.
09:28You know, gutted about last year of the injury.
09:30You know, I know it's all pub talk, but I'm sure we would have taken it to the last round.
09:35But it's what it is, we'll have another go this year and have some fun.
09:38We like your pub talk, good luck, Luke.
09:41Cheers, mate.
09:42Yeah, that's Cambridge, you meet Yorkshire in Mossy and Padgett.
09:47Right, fast man, he's here now, so we've got about a minute left.
09:51So, we've just played out your explanation of what a Superstock bike is.
09:57It worked really well, you sport really well, and you've gone really quick so far this weekend, son.
10:02Yeah, as I said, the SMS and I go, oh, BMW feels really good at the moment.
10:06You know, I've got a fantastic team of men around me, and women.
10:11And, yeah, as I said to Larry there, the D-bomb just needs to execute this race.
10:15Are you one of those riders that puts half a second into people and qualifies pole,
10:20and that gives you an extra sport?
10:21Or is it one of them where you think, uh-oh, can I keep doing it?
10:24Do you put extra pressure on yourself by doing that? Some do.
10:26Yeah, like any rider, you know, I think when I used to speak to Johnny Ray, Johnny Ray says,
10:30even when he was pole position, you still doubt yourself of that a bit, don't you?
10:33Yeah. But no, right now at this moment of time, I'm feeling confident.
10:37I want to get the whole shot and try and stretch them.
10:40Have a steady ride, the D-bomb.
10:42Thank you, sir.
10:44Right, that's it. Like we said, these bikes, 1,000cc, over 200 horsepower from a bike.
10:51You can go and buy at your local bike dealer, the Flaysom, and only about a second and a half
10:55slower than the Superbikes.
10:59And it always produces great racing, especially with great characters like that man there, Luke Mossy, involved.
11:04He and Declan Connell will have to take the fight to David Allingham in this one.
11:09He's got the advantage in qualifying. Can he hold it in the race? We'll find out after the break.
11:19Welcome back to Alton Park, the first Pirelli National Superstock race of the season,
11:24about to get underway here in dry conditions. 14 laps coming up.
11:29The champion, of course, Mikkelczyk, as you well know, moved on to the British Superbike Championship.
11:34He was so dominant last year, so opportunity knocks here.
11:37For David Allingham, who's on pole, he had his best ever season in the British paddock last year,
11:43with a couple of wins. He's not one here at Alton, though, in the Superstock class.
11:46Maybe today is his day. He looked really strong in qualifying, James.
11:49Yeah, incredibly strong. Half a second clear of everybody.
11:52He's also the lap record holder, 134.9. So, you know, he knows how to go fast around here.
11:59It was 135.4 he qualified on, but like I say, that half a second clear was impressive.
12:05Not had a lot of track time at the Pirelli National Superstock riders.
12:08Their qualifying was 5 p.m. yesterday here, which is a bit unfortunate for them.
12:13It has to be said, but it's Allingham on pole from Declan Connell.
12:16Good to see Mossi in third, fully fit on the Padgetts Honda.
12:21Lewis Rollo is on a BMW this year. He heads road two ahead of Matt Truelove and Josh Owens,
12:25who was in the top three last year. Scott Swan is back in this championship as well.
12:30Some would argue he deserved another go at BSB for this year.
12:34He's joined by Beach and Luxton. Emily Larty is on row four.
12:39He is 10th on the grid ahead of Simon Reid and Ian Hutchinson, who's been going really well on his
12:45RST BMW.
12:47Then it's Barnes Bay and Dixon on row five.
12:50Campion, Bednarek and Baker on row six.
12:54Bednarek has switched over to the in-competition Aprilia for this year.
12:57No Sam Lappins on the grid for some reason. Not sure why, but Brooks and Loft Harris are on row
13:03seven.
13:03And then it's Mitch Rees. He did have a little tip off yesterday, Richard White and Jamie Coward.
13:08John McGuinness, Albert Gold and the 23-time TT winner is in 25th ahead of Finn Ascot and Harrison Crosby.
13:16They are way down on the grid compared to some of the results they put in last year.
13:20But look how many riders are on this grid. 40 riders have qualified, Jane.
13:25Yeah, it's a packed, packed grid. As we said earlier, dominated by Hondas.
13:3030 of those bikes are Hondas on the grid. And although on pole is a BMW.
13:36Yeah, David Anningham then on pole on the SMS Nickel Oil BMW.
13:42The 31-year-old runner up from last year. There is the number 11 in the background there.
13:47Number 88, Lewis Rollo is also on a BMW here for his first time on a BMW.
13:53And he's definitely more than capable of having a say in the podium.
13:57There's the rapid Honda of Declan Connell, who was knocking on the door of top fives last year.
14:02It's the podium finally coming his way. And Luke Mossy wants to put things right after last year.
14:07Unfinished business for the Milenko by Paget's Honda. 12 laps.
14:1114 laps. No, 14 laps. Sorry. Coming up in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship.
14:15And away we go. A rocket start for David Anningham. As the lights went out there.
14:19A few riders just getting a bit trapped towards the grass on the approach to turn one.
14:23It looks like Mossy's gone up into second place. But the start that Anningham wanted.
14:28And already he's putting a good half a second into the field.
14:31Yeah, he really did get away well.
14:33Oh! Little, you can see there, Mossy there having a little dive up cascades.
14:37But that's cost him some time. And it is a packed grid.
14:40But thankfully, they're all through safely through those first few turns.
14:43Yeah, that was Rollo. He went underneath. But then on the cutback, Rollo was able to get back through.
14:48So Rollo now in second. It's BMWs one and two.
14:50In third is the tag Honda of Matt Trulove. Number four. Then it's Mossy.
14:54And then it's Declan Connell. Further back through the pack there, you can see 39 riders.
15:00Minus Sam Laffins. All heading around Shell Oils. And now on the approach to Britons.
15:08Our first chance to really see who's got what in this 2026 season.
15:13Allingham leads down into his. He's from Rollo. There's a move from Mossy.
15:18He's deep, but he's just... Yeah, he has. It looked like he was going below.
15:22Oh, Trulove comes straight back at him. Is he going to be able to square him off?
15:26No, he's not. They cost each other a bit of time though.
15:28Oh, goodness me. What a place to try and pull off a move there.
15:32From Luke Mossy on one of the fastest blind entry corners up Clay Hill and on the approach into
15:39Truitt. So I'm glad he didn't attempt that really.
15:41But he's obviously getting a bit impatient on this opening lap.
15:44Yeah, he is. And you've just got to be a little bit careful because you don't want to give those
15:48leaders too much time. If you just give them that little... All that little overtaking,
15:52running each other wide, it just costs you. And it just allows... Well, at the moment it's
15:56allowing Allingham and Moro just to push away that second or so.
16:01Just in case you're wondering how close they get to the barriers at Dia's Leap there.
16:04Um, just in the background again, side by side, Matt Truelove, number four,
16:08and Mossy, who's now gone up into third place. Just behind them is Scott Swan. As I said,
16:12really should have had another crack at BSB for this year. But he's running his own team in Superstock,
16:18where he was a race winner in 2024. He's got some backing from Rosewood Bespoke Joinery as well.
16:23So the Northern Irishman here, we know on his day, more than capable of winning at this level.
16:28Yeah, very much. And you can see Mossy's already just put a few bite lengths between him and Truelove.
16:33So the question is, can he do anything about that gap to Rollo and Allingham at the front?
16:39Because he's, he's going to have a little bit of work to do. But at the moment, let's just see,
16:43you know, Mossy was so unlucky last year, broke that hit, missed three rounds. He was pushing
16:48a mickle chick all the way. But if there's anyone that can close the gap, it's probably Mossy.
16:54That was a nice, neat move there as well. Um, just sort of coming through there was Scott Swan.
16:59You can see number 45, he moves up into, uh, into fourth position, just getting a hell of ahead of
17:04Truelove.
17:05Yeah, the sky blue bike just behind, in a colour scheme you'll remember from last year,
17:10the Armada Marine Cables bike. That was supposed to be run by Sam Cox again this year,
17:14but the Flying Finn, Emily Larty, is in.
17:17Well, he's a proper pedaller, isn't he? We've seen him do a lot of stuff over the years. So, uh,
17:22Larty, definitely a good man to have your bike in the moment. That's the bike we're talking about,
17:26that blue Armada motorcycle.
17:29That's, uh, the rapid white Honda of Declan Connell, who was on the front row just going underneath Ben
17:33Luxton, who rides for the Whitecliffe CD8 racing team. Yeah, he didn't get the best of starts,
17:38did he, Connell? It just cost him off that brilliant qualifying. Just didn't quite get the launch,
17:43and, uh, it's cost him so. It's, uh, fast stuff in the race so far. 135.7 for Allingham, your
17:49leader.
17:49Nobody else in the 35s. Oh, look at that. Stacked car parts. Big fans. Everyone's come out to see it
17:57here.
17:57And why wouldn't you? What a sport. Yeah, it does mean it's going to be a bit tricky getting out
18:01later,
18:01but we don't care about that. Always good to have a decent crowd here at Alton. Yeah, my car is
18:07carefully
18:08hidden in an excellent escape spot. Yeah, these guys that have been doing this for a long time are crafty.
18:14As we came in, I could see your motor, and I saw shakies as well. You know what to do,
18:20how to get out quick. This is lap three of 14 in the Superstocks. Allingham then comfortable at
18:26front. Yeah, he is, as we say, the only man in the 35s. Bossy's just lost a couple of tenths
18:31to him
18:32on that last lap, trying to sort of push it all. We've got to ride it down. He is moving.
18:37That's, uh,
18:38I believe Kevin Milani, the Italian, who's gone down. So, yeah, it is. Yeah. Number 34,
18:46unfortunately, down. But he is up on his feet. Let's have a little look at this. He's going to be
18:51a high. Oh, God. Yeah, that went early. That's very unusual to have gone that early there with the
18:57banking. It normally is, well, as you can see, he spat him out, but he is up on his feet.
19:04Back at the front. Let's have a little look as across the line. So, Allingham again, 35.6.
19:10So, the only other man in the 35s was Mossy, 35.8. So, he is losing it for a couple,
19:16but he did take off four tenths from Rollo in second. So, Mossy just bringing in Rollo,
19:22but Allingham looks like he's got the pace here to carry on. He's got a second and a half lead
19:27on Rollo.
19:29Round cascades. The battle for third is between Mossy, Swan and True Love at the moment. All on
19:34Hondas. This is Josh Owens just behind Ben Luxton. I'm not sure if Josh is carrying injury or not,
19:41but I expected him to be charging at the front based on his end of season form last year.
19:45Yeah, very much so. Third in the championship. You know, got that wonderful win at Thruxton,
19:50but he's just sort of just seems to be struggling a little bit.
19:58Through Britain's chicane and it's two seconds the advantage now for Allingham at the front. There
20:03is Rollo in second and then just closing in now in third is Mossy. Yeah, you can see Mossy. He's
20:08definitely going to be in that battle for second very, very shortly as we look further back at
20:13True Love and Lahti. These are the men we're talking about. BMW V Honda as they come across
20:18the brow. Scott Swan there doing a good job in fourths as well. Yeah, Kim Connell just at the
20:24back of that group. The rider who finished in eighth in the championship from Dunfermline. He spoke to
20:28Witt on the grid. It's one of those riders that you expect to just take that next step here
20:33this season. And you can really see if you look at those two bikes the aero on that BMW the
20:38the lead
20:39bikes big sort of front wings to help keep the front down and help stop it wheeling because these
20:44bugs have got so much power now and they want to really a lot and oh mossy coming through there
20:49to one late on the brakes just stands him up a fraction and has he got it? Yes, he has
20:55as they
20:56come down into cascades here really important left hand and you drift out pull it back round again
21:02so important to get a good drive this is where the BMW might just be able to out driving
21:08coming up to island bend but no mossy could on the brakes brave as well as this you know 110
21:13mile
21:14an hour left-hander and then it's down into this really banked shellos hairpin can't really see the
21:19banking on tv but you could stuff the bike in there and the fun generally just holds rest of the
21:26field
21:26making their way around there yeah a couple of other BMWs in in this as well uh Ian Hutchinson
21:30currently in 11th you've got Ash Beach who's switched over to BMW machinery just inside the
21:35top 10. Simon Reid as well is out uh for this year of course he lost a ride last minute
21:40uh last year
21:41but uh MLav Carl Cox to the rescue Carl Cox BMW by MLav racing to Simon Reid the Northern Irish
21:48rider i'm
21:48sure we'll see more of him as time goes on a couple of riders who again i'm just scratching my
21:53head as to
21:54why they're so off the pace given what we saw from them last year Finn Ascot at the moment is
21:59down in
21:5926th and regular in the top 10 last year i know Harrison Crosby had a pre-season uh crash and
22:05injury
22:05so he might just be uh hobbling around a bit but we'd expect him inside the top 10 for the
22:112026 season
22:12as well as we just look back there is Ian Hutchinson number nine on the RST BMW that's a beautiful
22:17color scheme
22:17by the way so it looks even better up close it does indeed Hutchinson in 11th uh John McInnes as
22:24well
22:24for all of those fans he's in 25th at the moment
22:30there you can see Ben Luxton just behind Ash Beach also on that BMW this is Larty though just ahead
22:37of
22:37true love and Declan Connell on the rapid Honda yeah and it looks like uh it looks like Swan might
22:46just be catching that Rollo and Mossy battle so the man well the number 45 uh just keep an eye
22:53on him
22:53because he's definitely look at him coming to there he was a little bit too hot you saw it just
22:57snaking on the brakes as he came into Shell oils but Scott Swan definitely closing in on uh second and
23:02third place here yeah none of them got anything for Allingham out front 35.4 he actually holds for that
23:07record in Superstock as Allingham 34.997 that came last year but of course that was that came chasing
23:14Ilya Mikulchik that was his problem uh at the start of the season as Mossy there just heavy into his
23:21ease yeah he was a little bit just cost him a tenth or two it'll just keep uh Bolo's confidence
23:27up
23:27but as we say it's got Swan I think it's a danger man for these guys on lap six of
23:3214 he seems to be coming
23:35yeah Josh Owens has just gone into the one minute 35s as well the rider in eighth place number 65
23:40so
23:41maybe swarming into the race Allingham at the moment though controlling this he's 3.2 seconds up ahead
23:46of this man Mossy yeah and he just looks smooth and neat doesn't he looks really in the zone obviously
23:52second in the championship last year and just looks super comfortable it's always nice when you stay with
23:56that same team obviously the SMS because all BMW team that uh you know kind of he runs sort of
24:03partly
24:03runs himself as well but the Ulster man looking really good again in the 35s uh and the only other
24:10man 35s on that lap 35.8 for Swan and also 35.8 for Owens so Owens coming through in
24:17eighth Josh Owens again
24:19we'd expect him from his form from last year just to be battling a little bit more but you can
24:24see there
24:25you can see the times that's what we're looking at and you can see him just pinching pinching
24:29pinching on Lewis Rollo there yeah I just wonder if Owens is maybe carrying some sort of injury I don't
24:34know if he went down yesterday in qualifying he hails from Aintree not too far from here in uh
24:39Alton Park as well and was regularly in that top three this is going to be a good lap from
24:47Swan again
24:48he's pretty much on them as we look at your leader coming through our picture then it's Mossy then it's
24:53Rollo and then it's Swan yeah it's good to see Rollo back out on uh the bike if you remember
24:59from last
25:00year in the BSB campaign with Senkat Aprilia as it was then he had a massive injury it was far
25:06bigger
25:07than the fact I think even he thought to begin with and it put him out for the rest of
25:10the year
25:11yeah no he's a good rider and uh as you say it's it's nice to see him battling for the
25:16podium here
25:16at round one there is Allingham that's what three seconds looks like just consistently banging in
25:23those 35s and just pinching 10th by 10th and uh you know he's he doesn't need to do too much
25:29more
25:30at the moment just keep banging in those laps this is battle where the action is just extending his lead
25:36out front Allingham a 35.8 for him the only rider in the 135s on that lap as we look
25:43here at Mossy
25:43he was really unlucky with that injury last year of course he came in late to the championship with
25:49Padgett the year before and cleaned up at times and really solid rider Luke Mossy can ride pretty much
25:58any bike i still i still believe you could put him on a half decent super bike and he delivers
26:04some
26:04decent results as well he's he's that strong yeah no he's a quality rider good bloke as well and uh
26:10he enjoys his racing he's always smiling happy chappy one races in super stock 600 and
26:18british super sport in BSB he's even one if you remember european super stock 600 race at Silverstone
26:25as well so uh no stranger to the podium positions as this group here continue to fight it out there
26:32is number four Matt Trulove ahead of Josh Owens and Declan Connell yeah he's just seems to have broken
26:40ahead of them he's got 0.8 seconds on them he's kind of bridging the he's in that little gap
26:44between
26:44Swan Lolo and Mossy and he's broken these guys Trulove doing a good job there in sixth
26:52and we're keeping the likes of Owen behind him one rider who's going uh quite well a bit further
26:58behind this group who uh had three points finishes last year who came up from no limits with ryan
27:05campion number 50 on the dnk kln racing honda he's in 12th place at the uh well was in 12th
27:13over the
27:14line ahead of reed and dan brooks who's made some decent progress in this one and also number eight
27:19ash barnes another of the uh rapid honda riders once again that lap the only man in the 35s
27:26is your leader so david allingham just still banging in those 35s and eking out that lead
27:32it just looks like swan who kind of closed in just seems to be dropping off that battle for second
27:37and
27:38third with his tires i don't know he just doesn't look quite as comfortable as he did in the early
27:43laps
27:44although lewis rollo has just put in a purple first sector the rider in third so the number 88
27:51just starting to maybe to warm into this which certainly shows that he's got some decent tire
27:56life there on the motorrad central edinburgh bmw another one riding for the mlab racing team
28:08losing count actually of how many riders across the board that michael laverty's got uh across uh
28:14oh someone just made a mistake there in one way yeah that's simon reed who's just made he's gone
28:22straight through there unfortunately great looking bike but he just you just saw him get it a little
28:27bit wrong had to stand it up couldn't miss losing the front so that that's unfortunate for him
28:33you see mossy rollo swan larty true love owens again declan collins made a mistake he's dropped right
28:41back off the back of uh of owens so i'm not quite sure what's happened there but or maybe he
28:47got caught
28:47up in that little incident didn't quite see but he's uh lost quite a lot of time there the man
28:52who qualified
28:53second there you see simon reed as well down to 19th you know so no points for him and unfortunately
28:58this is the one and only race of the weekend super stock there we see oh well there's the mistake
29:04that
29:04you uh we're talking about from declan unfortunately just going across the grass there yeah well we knew
29:10he'd done something and as you say just it's easy to do there you don't have to get it you're
29:15just a
29:15fraction wrong on the brakes and you're too fast and you know if you're good if you try and keep
29:19it
29:20online you're going to lose the front so sometimes you just have to just go through but it costs you
29:24so much time to go through those awkward little barriers yeah luckily he had a bit of time in the
29:29bag ahead of uh beach and luxton so top eight still on for him as we continue to watch this
29:35battle for
29:36second and third place 3.7 up the road seconds up the road is allingham this is mossy rollo swan's
29:42still not quite out of it in four no hanging in there and allingham that was the first time he's
29:47actually
29:48done a 36 all race of 136 zero so only just but uh he's just backing off a fraction there
29:54as he can
29:55lap 10 of 14 he's got a 3.7 second lead so he's looking comfortable out front it's been a
30:01a really nice display from allingham he's looked comfortable he had that advantage after qualifying
30:06and he's got that really smooth neat style you've got mossy big leg out there same as rollo and then
30:13swan
30:13hanging in there there'll be a few riders who will wish there was a second race here this weekend who
30:20obviously it went wrong for in qualifying but are making great progress we've talked about harrison
30:24crosby earlier on he's up 10 places from his starting spot a jack bednarak this year has moved to aprilia
30:29as i said at the start of the race with uh ian newton just finding it a bit tough to
30:34adapt at the moment
30:35on the aprilia it's a vastly different aprilia to what it was a couple of years ago in this trim
30:40but
30:40we know how good jack is so in time he'll he'll get there yeah i think the pretty is actually
30:45a
30:45really good bike too i just think it's it does have its own feel and you know it's got a
30:49beautiful
30:49v4 engine in it it's a little jewel of a thing but it's you know he's probably just got to
30:55get it in
30:55that area you've got to get it in that zone and i think once he does that i think you'll
31:00see him go
31:00really well of course we've got donnington park in a couple of weeks time for the pirelli national superstock
31:09class so the question is where can rollo have a look at mossy it's uh mossy doing that good job
31:16and it's a battle for the podium second and third swan looks like he's now he's got that 0.9
31:21of a
31:21second off these guys so he's i think he's just settling oh dear that might well be uh a red
31:29flag
31:29come out there because the barriers have been hit and we're about to hit two thirds distance as well so
31:34i think we've got we got a red flag and that is going to be a result that's a red
31:39flag as we
31:39suspected hopefully the ride is okay but that will be declared a result but david allingham knows it as
31:43well as he uh i believe it was cam dixon involved in the crash there as uh so hopefully cam
31:52is okay
31:54um david allingham then will be declared race winner of that race there and thoroughly deserved james i mean
31:59he was untouchable really from the moment the lights went out i mean even going down the hill
32:04into cascades he really had half a second on everyone yeah and yeah gentlemen set for him as
32:09you say he had uh yeah pole position fastest lap race win and controlled it comfortably it's a great
32:16win for him and uh the whole uh sms nickels all's bmw team yeah second place going to uh mossy
32:22and rollo
32:24there you see a very happy david allingham who's done most of his winning in this class at brands hatch
32:29that seems to be one of his favorite circuits but uh the ride back home to northern ireland will
32:35be a pleasant one for david allingham this evening you can see that uh again just reiterating that we
32:43don't know uh too much at the moment about cam dixon rider to the medical center that's all we can
32:48tell you at the moment but hopefully he's okay he's gone down over towards britain's at the first
32:53chicane after shell oils and someone in the back yeah lewis rollo look how happy lewis is he would
33:00have a few people uh getting picked up and carried over the shoulder there and after such a hard year
33:09last year getting a result like that james must feel so relieving absolutely because you know you
33:14always have that little bit of doubt as well across winter you've kind of had your injury come back
33:19he's swapped back classes he's you know swap manufacturer and so it's it's it's a big a big
33:25thing for him and it's well deserved he's a quick rider and um you know he he rode really well
33:31then
33:31it says you know obviously they they had to stop the race early but you never know what did he
33:36have
33:36another little answer for mossy so you know he'll be very happy but that is the race winner david allingham
33:42and uh as we say the full gentleman's set for him he's always quite uh quiet serious um when he's
33:50interviewed on on the grid david allingham let me tell you is as mad as they come sometimes when you
33:55speak to him uh off air he's good fun is david and uh we've got luke mossy there just being
34:02congratulated
34:03in the background by michael lavaty yeah the osterman really enjoying that one you see wit there in
34:10the background as well so that is the incident we haven't heard any more as yet no there's the bike
34:17i'm not seeing the right rider yet but they're just going to have to clear that actually just on
34:22the right hand side just behind the i think oh there we are there he is there is cam that
34:26is great
34:26that is really good to see that he's up on his feet let's uh so look let's have a look
34:36and see
34:36what happened then cam there look you could just see on the approach he knew something was wrong and
34:40he had nowhere to go that's a really odd very odd it's like he picks a bike up suddenly so
34:48he thankfully
34:49as you can see though he is uh he's up on his feet he's moving around and um it's a
34:55an unusual one that is uh you're normally just in on that kink and for some reason the bike
35:01he's sort of stood up yeah very well so we've got a confirmed result then after the red flag
35:07it's just brought a halt to the proceedings the one and only race for the weekend so
35:12it's 25 points to david ellingham from luke mossy on the malenko by pagets
35:17honda rollo takes third and then it's swan latty true love owens declan connell eight from
35:24the front row ash beach back in the top 10 again on the jones dawling racing bmw ahead of ben
35:29luxton
35:29for white cliff cdh racing hutchy keeps on going doesn't he team rst bmw is 11th ahead of campion
35:36brooks barnes and bay
35:40and take a quick break and when we come back we'll reflect on super stock thousand and then we'll be
35:46building up to the second british supersport race of the weekend here at oldson
35:57it's a huge week of european football coming up after a nine goal thriller in paris bayern and psg
36:02battle it out once again in the second leg of their champions league semi-final on wednesday night
36:07aston villa and nottingham forest compete for a spot in the europa league final at villa park
36:12whilst crystal palace look to book their place in the showpiece match in the conference league
36:17leading 3-1 against shaktar the nets at sellers park here at oldson park we've just seen a really
36:26really strong performance from david allingham in the super stock race let's get the thoughts of the
36:31top three uh lewis rollo finished third he's talking to shaky he certainly is thank you matt um lewis we
36:37were just talking off camera a minute ago you said to me about how late this whole deal came together
36:40with mlav and uh and the motorrad center in edinburgh uh come together very late but you've just
36:44rewarded them with their first podium yeah no obviously last year with my absence with injury
36:49it was a long winter and training and a couple of things were there but they fell through but
36:54i got a call from nathan i went down met him got a kind of deal together and we went
37:00racing and it was
37:01actually scary how quick we got to pace for me being off a bike so long i jumped on it
37:06fell at home on the
37:07bm straight away we've chipped away we've had a brilliant test and up till now and round one we've
37:12hit the ground running and put on the podium so now really pleased to be back here especially after
37:16a tough year last year onwards and upwards for donaton then definitely just obviously last year long
37:22year but all these guys all the sponsors they've put me back on track this year in edinburgh motorrad
37:28central as well and huge thanks to the team and hopefully you can keep this going and have a good
37:32season
37:33great job well done louis thank you here he comes then me our mate luke mossy um back on the
37:39podium
37:39luke great to have you back still with milenko by paget's team um how was that race for you yeah
37:44good
37:45uh glad to get the first out of the way of the season you know it's always a bit like
37:48after a big
37:49a long winter it's all builds up to a bit of a hectic one but uh yeah i just felt
37:53like i had a bit of a
37:53target on my back at the first lap or two just everyone died bombing me and then uh unfortunately
37:57david got away but to be fair to him he's been quick all weekend you know him and his bm
38:00have been uh been fast so
38:02uh but yeah happy to start the year like this um can't thank you know pages by milenko team and
38:06all my sponsors and uh yeah just roll on next round and uh hopefully spread my wings a bit more
38:11at
38:11donaton don't apart two weeks let's look forward to that one cheers mate thank you just like i say
38:15massive thanks to steve at morello all my personal sponsors that continue their support with me every
38:19year and uh yeah see you next week good man well done thank you right your race one winner of
38:23the
38:23season then here he is d-bomb you could look a bit happier mate you've just won you just won
38:26a super stock
38:27race um fantastic performance got away at the front there got the job done you must be over the moon
38:31yeah it's exactly what me and the team planned uh before the race we just thought you know what
38:36we'll try to get a good start hole shot it and uh try to take off some laps kind of
38:40watch kyle ride
38:40what he done in uh race one in the superbike class so yeah i mean it felt uh really comfortable
38:45team
38:45done a fantastic job all weekend i think there was only one time we weren't top and it was warm
38:50-up
38:50they tricked me a bit in warm-up they didn't put the pit board out um but uh yeah i
38:55felt absolutely
38:55fantastic out there and the iron pump was gone so that was a a plus for me and um no
39:01just can't thank
39:01my team enough check you know they've done a fantastic job and without these guys you know
39:05i'm not going to be doing too much two weeks time mate you get to do it all over again
39:09fantastic
39:10performance david well done thank you just want to uh say thanks to all my personal sponsors and
39:14everyone who sponsored our team as well um can't do it without you thank you well done
39:21yeah brilliant ride from david allingham he's been on four more weekend we've got michael
39:25he's running ilya micklechik in uh super bikes this weekend and um lewis rollo in uh in superstock
39:33michael another busy uh busy season ahead for you but how's it going so far yeah good for lewis
39:39there correction we're not running ilya this year he was with us last year but um yeah for uh superstock
39:44this year lewis has come in to the team we've gone to two riders and superstock simon reed alongside
39:49obviously winning the championship last year with ilya was fantastic we wanted to keep that ball rolling
39:54lewis had a tough year last season obviously with injury so for him to come back and straight into
39:58podium contention is excellent so yeah happy to keep the ball rolling we had a third place at
40:03round one last year with ilya and we won the championship so hopefully the the omen continues
40:06i actually think you have a good chance of winning it again with lewis really really really lucky last
40:12year really impressed with what with what he's done i've seen we've seen his career uh just progress i
40:17think he's a good rider and i think once he gets his eye back in he's been out for nearly
40:20a full
40:20year i think yeah good man there actually both are right or seven reed was out all last year lewis
40:25was out all last year they both love the the alpha built bmw it's a fantastic bike we know how
40:30well
40:30it can work and as you said with lewis i think he was so nervous ahead of the race because
40:34he's been
40:35out of action for so long getting the monkey off his back getting the first podium that'll do wonders
40:38for his confidence actually both got kids as well yeah they are it's good atmosphere in there in the
40:42guards the boys are working well so i'm enjoying it uh you'll forgive me for losing track michael because i
40:47don't know how you managed to do it it's actually of course in the super bikes you're having an
40:51involvement with the yamaha's with uh rory skinner and and danny danny kent as well how's that going
40:56how's that working out so far yeah good good um at the moment rory had a really good race there
41:00this morning he at the the latter laps was as fast as brad ray and podium contention danny had a
41:04bit
41:05of a tougher one but overall it's going in the right direction i don't think this is a track that
41:08suits
41:09either of our riders in the superbike class with either rory or danny but hopefully we can kick start the
41:14campaign at donington park a track that does suit both with their gp backgrounds so yeah it's been
41:18a tough weekend for them but we know both their class acts they'll they'll get things together
41:22before too long without a doubt david anningham's career has been up and down the last few years
41:27james i think there's a point where it looked like he might be running out of road with it but
41:30it's
41:30great to see him back on phone we all thought he would run out of road with it but he
41:33came back he's
41:34changed sponsors he's he's done the job himself he's actually taken big big steps to stay in this paddock
41:39and good luck to him he's first saw him doing really well in super sport he's changed to the super
41:44stock he's got a lot of talent rides on confidence as well so this is exactly the start he needs
41:49for the season if he can stay buoyant and and stay enjoying what he's doing who knows he was
41:55confident hopping over that rope there that could have gone badly wrong just put your pundit hat on
42:00for us there for a minute then michael just in general looking at bsb this year a car ride on
42:04the
42:04ducati he's shown his cards really early have you been surprised by just how quick he's gone at this
42:09stage yeah not surprised because kyle's a class act but surprised in a way hoping that you carry
42:14wasn't going to be as strong from the get-go but it's so strong on words sort of like the
42:17new v4 looks
42:19a polished package already in bsb trim but kyle looking strong storm stacy looking strong leon has
42:25them a surprise at his age still still get the fire and fight in him but brad in there looking
42:30good as
42:30well i think the hondas will come to the fore the amahas of uh or tas guys will find a
42:35way to to get
42:35to the front and then i think you've got the what looks like the fs3 team with the bemota they've
42:41got
42:41a package of two young hungry riders once they get things working how they like you've got maybe 10
42:4712 riders who could win races on any given weekend so i think bsb's in a really sweet spot at
42:51the moment
42:52and the depth of field when you look outside the points you've got andrew erwin and you've got
42:55elia michelcheck and writers the guy it's such a stack it's unreal it's i'm glad i'm no longer
43:00bsb racer it looks so tough you can't have an off day if you're a few tenths of drift you're
43:05really
43:05struggling so yeah great time for british racing but um let's see how it goes as we go to donnington
43:10park things could change a little bit there yeah good stuff michael great to see you as always enjoy
43:14the rest of the weekend racing we've got plenty
