00:07previously i've arranged for you to sell live on one of the shopping channels max was in the hot
00:14seat amber rose can you hear me yeah yeah i can hear but poor product choices the picnic blanket
00:19is so versatile meant stagnant sales no callers flogging a dead horse on the other team i'm gonna
00:27go with myself and mia jordan was overlooked by liam i do feel like it's a mistake not having me
00:33on
00:33that presenting team and despite some dodgy demos just turn it on at the back what are you doing you
00:40dipstick they hoovered up a win 1529 pounds and 63 dean's ratings were down i'm not very impressed
00:51at all but it was max i'm gonna hold you responsible who was taken off air
00:56you're fired now seven candidates remain to fight for the chance to become lord sugar's business
01:04partner
01:134am
01:18hello good morning lord sugar would like to meet you at london college of fashion in east london
01:24the cars will be outside in 20 minutes thank you guys guys wake up london college of fashion in 20
01:34minutes fashion i'm thinking maybe fashion show maybe we're making an item clothing
01:48liam obviously has a clothing company could be a really good one for him
01:52liam this is what you do isn't it exactly that man do fashionable work where i say i've got more
01:57fashion sense than you let's get down a business
02:09me and you definitely the top fashionistas we have to be like we are the fashionable girls get
02:16me on that runway runway get me in the front cover
02:22london college of fashion world famous hub for talent in training at the cutting edge of style since 1906
02:43good morning good morning lord sugar welcome to the london college of fashion and for the fashion
02:51designs of the future sustainability is becoming increasingly important so for your next task i want
02:59you to create your own environmentally conscious fashion brand you'll need to design a capsule
03:06collection you'll then host a fashion show to a room full of potential buyers the team that secures
03:14the most hypothetical orders will win and on the losing team at least one of you will be fired
03:20you can be creative i mean take an example of this bloke here open up like this
03:28unbelievable he's wearing this outfit for a bet
03:33but there you are everything clear
03:35good luck and i'll see you back in the boardroom in a few days time off you go
03:44today teams must create an eco-conscious fashion brand and capsule collection
03:49all right guys this is a fashion task i'm really really excited for it before trying to tempt buyers
03:56tomorrow so who fancies going for project manager for this task first job i've definitely got to put
04:02myself forward for this one i've got a fashion business on the outside choose a chief i design
04:08clothes regularly so i think this is right on my street yeah i'd like to put myself forward as well
04:14i've worked with garments in the digital world so a little bit of experience there as well
04:18do you have like a concept of like a story the story is eco-friendly clothing i feel like that
04:25was
04:25the story itself there's there's so much more to it than that i i personally think going down the route
04:29of upcycling i think there's a stronger story and saying we're turning something that was ugly into
04:34something beautiful and new yeah that's the message and the emotion that we want to evoke i think
04:39jordan that vision i also agreed with again i had a similar idea to a vote i'm happy to vote
04:44for
04:44jordan yeah so jordan project manager i'm so confused why i wasn't picked i am the fashionable
04:51expert i do this on the outside day to day i design clothes i manufacture clothing and i'm just gutted
04:57that i'm not a project manager why are you shaking your head i'm just gutted man let me have a
05:02minute
05:04across the hall i've been a part of like putting collections together for fashion shows
05:09at university and at school already in charge let's get into it then i'm passionate about
05:14women's wear chisola in terms of the actual collection itself i'm leaning more towards
05:21athleisure sportswear we're wearing it all the time but what i will say is remember with athleisure
05:27it's everyday pieces we don't want to be boring yeah i think for me it's about making sure this is
05:33everyday kind of where that we want to go down that route so we want to be innovative appreciate
05:37you know that but just to make it crystal clear to create pieces that you know we could envision
05:43ourselves wearing yeah yeah i trust your taste jisela's vision was to create a collection of
05:49something you can wear every day this is a crowded market if she goes for something simple and every
05:56day i'm not sure she's going to get the order she wants do you have any preference in terms of
06:01kind of fabrics and materials you know sea life pollution is a big thing and i was thinking we
06:06could use that as a bit of a story like look we use plastics in our day-to-day life
06:10now instead of
06:11wasting them we're utilizing that to make clothes we're going with menswear what it means to be a
06:17man is transforming in this modern day and age vision laid out i definitely want it to be vibrant i
06:22want it to be out there next job for jordan there's going to be one team focusing on the branding
06:27one team focusing on the actual garments we're going to make taylor his team yeah i see myself
06:33more on like the designing of the clothes um obviously i work with patterns and designing
06:38trousers and jackets i've got a very strong vision of what i want um in terms of the style i'm
06:45going
06:45for i don't want it to be too bland i do want to go on that team and i'm going
06:49to put myself on that
06:50team liam i think you make logos for your brand you're very confident in that obviously i would
06:54prefer to garden the designing of the clothes that's technically what i do day to day i draw
06:58patterns i make designs and you draw logos as well though we're going to have liam and anissa on the
07:04branding team and myself and mia are going to be looking after the garments liam i want to make you
07:09sub team leader jordan because he's so passionate about his idea he's wanting to own the design process
07:16however he's got a member of his team liam who does this for his business maybe he should have
07:21stepped aside and let liam run that part to bring that vision to life when it comes to the branding
07:26i think the biggest thing is i want them to just see the name and understand what we're about and
07:31what kind of colors are we thinking yeah vibrant colorful i don't want like dull colors you know
07:35what i mean yeah i understand where do people think their strengths lie fashioning her followers
07:41if it's a women's iron i feel like you girls will have more of an idea than i would about
07:45women's clothes
07:47project manager chisola i'm happy with both of you being on the branding team amber rose i think
07:52you'd make a great sub team leader based on your experience do you have any preferences around the
07:56style of kind of logo do you want it to be like font writing no i want it to just
08:01be clean and simple
08:02i just want it to be very clear i don't want it to be confusing i don't want us to
08:06use like squiggly
08:07lines you can be obviously creative i'm not going to tell you exactly what to do with the name
08:11yeah that's fabulous so let's go and make a really great clothing line let's go
08:1911am today half of each team will focus on fashion
08:25in the past when it comes to creativity and designs i have outperformed liam so i did put a lot
08:31of faith
08:32in him to put him over a sub team leader while the rest build stylish brands on the brand inside
08:39i've struggled before working with people that lacked with ideas i don't think that would be
08:43the issue here i think maybe we might have too many yeah east london base for both teams to design
08:51their lines hello how are you sampling studio apparel tasker nice to meet you we have parachutes blankets
08:59lots of different items that you guys can choose after a crash course in clothing you have your
09:04stretch fabrics in the corner yeah so you can make from that dresses swimwear okay debating direction
09:11for their menswear collection this new brand is about men opening up and becoming the modern man
09:17mia and jordan i really like the idea of having jacket t-shirt trousers
09:25okay but if we're the poster for the new age of men being able to open up could we be
09:33experimental
09:33and offer a dress on our range i don't really want to do a dress i think if we want
09:39to keep it inclusive
09:40well obviously it's men but uh could we do a dress i would not do a dress to be honest
09:46i'd want to do
09:46trousers jacket and t-shirt more men are wearing dresses nowadays might be good to try and break some
09:52stigmas break some stereotypes it is pushing the realm of what's expected of society it's a risky
09:59item i know no i think i want to stick with jacket t-shirt and trousers to be honest if
10:06we are trying
10:07to convey the modern day man i think it's a huge mistake not going for a skirt or a dress
10:13trying to
10:13get that across has been quite difficult but i am continuing to push i think that could be used for
10:19the jacket even the gray so the inside is gray but it's not flamboyant enough
10:26across the hall do you know what would be really cool like a sports jacket so you could unzip it
10:31turns into a bit of a gilet working on her women's wear it's going to be reversible
10:37and mate you're laughing four jackets in one i love it chisola okay let's get to designing so it's
10:46long sleeve straight neck like that we've got the zip here quite high then let's have some maybe some
10:53pockets zip there zip there and then maybe a logo yeah happy
11:04being so low in this process is definitely challenging but i am loving the fact that i can
11:09make decisions not have to check them with anyone and just go full steam ahead and that is exactly
11:14what i'm doing so the next item i'm thinking about is yoga pants
11:21midday tower bridge jordan did say he wants a name and a brand that has emotion behind it while anisa
11:27pins
11:28down a name for their modern menswear i had express up yeah brainstorming their fashion brand
11:35just got to obviously try and include as much about the recycled element as we can dean and amber rose
11:42do we have something that describes wearing pieces again and again
11:51something clothing um it's conscious clothing it's a bit worrying isn't it like i'm conscious about it
12:05um i'm struggling to be fair
12:07um i think the word apparel um about miss apparel i don't like miss apparel just because it means
12:21nothing they were told to use their creativity i've seen no creativity here i mean they haven't even come
12:29up with a name yet let alone a logo and a tagline i mean this is like pulling teeth we
12:35do need to sort
12:35get a move on with this we do we do but this is important east london let's say that's the
12:43jacket
12:43okay but what you have is like an outer layer cape still pushing for daring designs and you just you
12:51break free so like it's just really colorful and vibrant okay mia apart from the jacket i don't think
12:59we have any ideas for anything yet i think we really have to push the norm if we're saying we're
13:05out of the
13:05ordinary i think we need to do a dress or a skirt a dress or a skirt um we could
13:12do a skirt either of
13:13them i'm happy with if we're gonna go skirt it needs to be like big okay what if we push
13:21the boat out
13:21and just use the whole of this as a skirt you're jumping into a new age of fashion with your
13:26parachute
13:26skirt okay front of you is a bright expressive future behind you are the constraints of society
13:35yeah no you definitely swayed me yeah i'm happy with that choice to be honest i think it's uh theatrical
13:41it's artistic um and that's what we're going for yeah yeah i think it's been good having mia there she's
13:48definitely helped bring some more out of the box ideas into the equation and it's not right up my street
13:53but for people who would wear it i think it's exactly what they'd want so i think we've got the
13:59skirt yeah i'm happy with the skirt yeah let's do crop top yes on the other team i want them
14:05to be
14:06yoga pants but i think neutral dot t stand out is opting for a simpler style i think i'll go
14:13for blue
14:14which i think should be in the collection chisola like a little scrunch bum would be quite nice
14:22so that's your little scrunch bum everyone loves a scrunch bum my design is pretty simple
14:31have i gone too basic when it comes to the actual design
14:35i know they're quite plain but i don't really want to do too much with them
14:41chisola's got three pieces to make a statement about her brand to retailers she had a whole range
14:46of colors and patterns she's gone really safe dare i say it it's borderline boring last but not least
14:55i want like a vest top with a scoop neck across town i was thinking of having the ups but
15:04instead
15:05making a little dent so it looks like a t-shirt okay taking the lead on logo design i know
15:11kind of
15:11green represents recycling a lot of the time so i was thinking going for blue and yellow because those
15:16together make green anyway anisa yeah we have expressed up in capital letters to start with
15:21capital yeah all please yeah yes and then we can just choose a font that looks bold yeah dense letters
15:28perfect yeah so if we have like a rectangular arrow around the whole thing that's what yeah i think can
15:34we
15:34have a brighter like a neon yellow because we want to look vibrant um oh yeah that one i think
15:40that
15:40looks sweet yeah all right cool liam was picked as sub-team leader because he's the expert with regards
15:47to men's clothes however anisa's leading everything and liam's allowing her to do so he should be doing
15:54much more this is opportunity to lead this team and he's not doing it is it saying sustainable fashion
16:00brand yeah i'm really happy i need to do something with the logo let's spend one more minute on this
16:07and lock it in and then go to the logo in my opinion next door what about if you just
16:11put the word re in
16:12front of apparel reapparel gives the recycling element to it yeah i i like the name reapparel cutting it fine
16:18with the tagline what about making women look fantastic while wearing recycled plastic it's a bit
16:24cheesy but i don't mind it amber rose and dean okay let's see the logo quick quick quick quick
16:30quick god we're running out of time so we want typography i was thinking of a signature sort of
16:35handwriting look could we try adding just a little bit of pizzazz within the logo put like a ring around
16:41it to give it the sort of recycled look we're going to get stuck with this because we're going to
16:45literally run out of time can you give me some color suggestions please green can we have that on the
16:50arrows please times that what do you think yeah i like it hello hello hi how you doing how you
17:02getting
17:02on so the name of the brand is re apparel love it love it guys that's um classy short concise
17:10also
17:11touching base with his team hello hello jordan how you doing mate jordan
17:17and basically what we've gone for is a jacket they can open it up and a cape comes out which
17:22shows
17:22loads of vibrant colors a cape yeah the jacket becomes a cape yeah what were the other two it is
17:32actually a top and so we've actually used a parachute as a ruched skirt i know it's menswear but it
17:38is high
17:38fashion more men are doing it i know we've got to be positive but is there any reason why you
17:43went with
17:43a skirt because we're trying to break the societal norms guys one thing i'm punched off we have five
17:48minutes left to finish this so we're gonna have to go the skirt is made out of a parachute and
17:52the jacket
17:53is made from sleeping bags why sorry i'll go go sorry guys what i'm in shock so they made a
18:00cape
18:00i'm so confused i'm so confused oh my god i can't believe it though like
18:09i understand they want to talk about you know expressing yourself and being a little bit
18:13different but most men don't wear skirts or capes so i just don't know why they've ended up on that
18:19um yeah i am i am concerned oh central london are we recording yeah last job of the day for
18:28both teams
18:30produce a promo to showcase their brand your first line is in today's society as a man i don't feel
18:38like i can express myself let me have a look at the props again we have the hawaiian bra as
18:42well
18:43i'm thinking it can be like earmuffs literally like put it over i'm not sure about this like
18:51are you are you sure this is what you want it's a clothing item and it's bright but look at
18:58it look
18:58at the earmuffs how do they look on the screen it's a clothing item it's fine leave it let's
19:02film this quickly because we have no time i've turned rubbish into these cool earmuffs
19:10express right now i'm feeling tired from carrying liam all day giving all my ideas controlling his
19:19mood and just getting things done i think he was quite sore that we didn't pick him to be project
19:23manager but ultimately we have to work together to get things done anything else you can think of
19:27you're you're the director you got to tell me what to say 8pm introducing free apparel yeah i'm happy
19:36with it it's all right videos wrapped that's good enough i think it's pretty good so this is what i'm
19:44thinking samples in production get out of here tomorrow secure sales at the launch
19:588am drum roll this is the bomber jacket it's definitely something you would wear every day
20:06presenting her women's wear this is our top looks like a mermaid's outfit
20:13she's over so the next item is oh that's a scrunchy bum whatever that is that is a scrunch bum
20:24at the back
20:24there the scrunch bum's a good touch i love a good scrunch bum yeah helps you accentuate what you
20:29already have yeah the flare leg is very trendy i like the color yeah i think it goes well yeah
20:36we
20:36want you to feel confident in what you're wearing it's everyday materials giving you everyday wear
20:41i can get behind it for sure
20:45across the hall so this is the top is it like a crop top yeah debuting their designs if i'm
20:56being
20:56totally honest i don't like this item of clothing i personally wouldn't wear it jordan and mia
21:03all right well let's see the skirt
21:05still level it so this is actually made of a complete parachute what no um it's a great piece
21:16so what we've what we tried to do is bolder colors at the front show you're walking towards a brighter
21:21future a world in which you can express yourself do you feel like that would actually be like where
21:26do you see someone actually that is far too heavy yeah it's really heavy that is ridiculous where do you
21:31feel like this would be worn you know like who do you see popping down the shops wearing this you're
21:36not going to see that down the road obviously but if you go down to hollywood that's what everybody's
21:41wearing it has to be slightly obscure i'm not saying you just need to try hang on we've tried to
21:46do
21:46something different and unique and and we've done that if i'm honest i think the products are terrible
21:52you know even when it comes to the whole style and empowerment of men i can get behind it but
21:57there's
21:58no functionality i feel like mia's got very strong opinions and it seems like it's her vision rather
22:03than jordan's we've seen the clothes let's have a look at the branding you guys came up with
22:10it doesn't look like a fashion brand um when it comes to the logo um i think it screens budget
22:16petrol station on the other team this is our logo the big reveal of chisola's brand okay obviously the
22:25name that we went for is reapparel um i love the name but if i'm being honest i don't like
22:30the font
22:31i think in the morning i said stay away from like squiggles and like making it a little bit too
22:37you know fancy my interpretation from the morning meeting was that you wanted typography it's a
22:42feminine sort of handwriting yeah i feel i actually think i said stay away from like typography is kind
22:48of what i basically said i am disappointed in what they've produced the typography isn't great it's
22:56what i said to stay away from and they've done the exact opposite i'm not really sure what they took
23:00away
23:00from that brief if i'm being totally honest tell me a little bit about the tagline it says making women
23:06look fantastic by wearing recycled plastic yeah i don't think it's very creative yeah but i just think
23:12it does what it says on the tin that's that's probably what i would say in today's society as
23:19a man i don't feel like i can express myself last for jordan's team i'd turn rubbish into
23:25sacred pieces a chance to view their video take these flower garnets for example into these cool earmuffs
23:32express yourself with upcycled fashion express up you've hit a lot of good points i do think it says
23:39what we do if i'm being honest i think after the phone call liam you did get quite down so
23:44in terms
23:44of making the video a lot of it was me like i did the video the script and liam we've
23:49done the video
23:50together though i don't understand and i'm in the video i can't read the lines as well of course but
23:55like it was kind of difficult for me to work with liam yesterday just because i feel like you weren't
23:59behind it there's a lot of me having to be like let's get it done let's get it done say
24:03this
24:03i think guys ultimately look as a whole you've got something that isn't the worst
24:11liam is really putting us on the back foot if we're not all in it together we're putting ourselves
24:15in a really bad position my biggest concern right now is liam doesn't have the team's best interest
24:20at heart when it comes to team split anisa would you mind coming over to the pitch prep team and
24:25me
24:25and liam will head off on consumer research everyone happy with where they're going yeah yeah let's go and
24:30put on the best fashion show everyone's ever seen 10 a.m this morning half of each team will canvas
24:38opinions on their collections while the rest prepare to pitch liam didn't bring any compelling stories
24:47as to what we should be doing for this task exactly he came with nothing the energy he had in
24:51the morning
24:52meeting was the same energy he had when i was working with him yesterday at the end of the day
24:55if you're
24:56being upset or having a down mood it's gonna be a negative impact on the team east london at trendy
25:03spitalfields market this is made from plastic gathering fashionable feedback i quite like it
25:10because it looks like something i could go for a jogging dean this is our yoga pants okay it's personally
25:17not my style we've gone for a scrunch bum now scrunch bum was something new to me
25:22but i've i've been told it's the in thing at the moment all the girls are wearing it
25:26me personally i probably wouldn't wear that would you buy it uh no it's i don't think this one's for
25:31me oh my god no so you don't like the yoga pants no it's terrible so isn't meant to be
25:35a butthole
25:38across town you know what i think we found our model for today finding out if their menswear hits the
25:45mark
25:45i feel like a superstar ah it makes you feel you liam and jordan you're going for that avant-garde
25:54look
25:55it looks like a sleeping bag so i was just going to show you some of the other pieces we've
25:59got a
25:59skirt uh i wouldn't wear it personally is it short that's men's yeah it's like female clothing it's
26:05menswear it's not a bit of me but at least they're wrong you know what i'm saying do you like
26:10this sort of
26:10product i mean no this is like something for me maybe for my girlfriend do you feel like this is
26:15more of like a clothing brand you can see that from the logo uh do you want me to be
26:19real yeah that's
26:20the side of the bins that collect the trucks that collect rubbish
26:273 pm hello before pitching to potential buyers the jacket got quite a lot of good positive feedback
26:34a chance to filter through their findings yeah let's go to the yoga pants so the 21 year old said
26:40the
26:40scrunch bum looks like a butthole brutal yeah obviously there was a few connotations about
26:48the products potentially being more like women's wear but we sort of knew that i actually think we
26:52can spin that in that's that's the issue some guys want to wear that why can't they wear it
26:594 pm showtime arriving some of britain's biggest fashion retailers
27:08all with the potential to buy collections in bulk hello ladies and gentlemen showcasing their everyday
27:15women's wear we are so excited to speak to you about our brand new brand re apparel chisola's team
27:23recycling is something we are clearly passionate about as a brand this is why we try our best to
27:28incorporate that within the brand in itself we are now going to be showing you a brand video that we've
27:34come up with introducing re apparel our brand new women's wear active wear brand that makes you feel
27:42fantastic by wearing recycled plastic the moment you've all been waiting for we will be introducing you

28:47across town good afternoon ladies and gentlemen and thank you for coming introducing express up we've
28:54created a range which leverages previously discarded and wasted materials jordan's team and ultimately
29:01what we're doing today is we are celebrating breaking free from potentially societal norms
29:08so as express up we really wanted to get creative with our video in today's society as a man i
29:15don't feel
29:16like i can express myself express yourself with upcycling fashion express up on that note we're going to
29:23start our runway our first item of the night is made up of the parachutes you see above you
29:31no more do you have to repress feelings men can express themselves however they want
29:39next up we have liam in what was once comprised of two sleeping bags a cold darker muted exterior
29:47however once opened up break the mold show the vibrancy you have inside
29:55and last but not least we have one of our cropped t-shirts made up of a sail we've used
30:02some of the
30:02strings from the parachute around the neckline to signify breaking free from societal constraints
30:08and that is our range
30:12i just wanted to open up and kind of tell you the origin of this brand and what it means
30:17to me
30:17personally because it starts with the story of a little boy who thought being a man was keeping
30:23everything cooped in not speaking about your problems and to be honest i probably went my entire
30:28life living like that and it wasn't until i started showing people who that was expressing myself
30:33breaking free from those pre-made ideas of what a man should be that i really became my true self
30:39and that's what we're trying to embody in our brand today
30:51pitch is over yeah i'm just so lovely to meet you teams have one hour to secure sales i'd obviously
30:58be really keen to understand what you thought of our campaign and our products while mia misses out
31:03the products they are very niche and as buyers we would really struggle
31:09seeking to sell up a sale really impressed at the story and the theme through the collection i think
31:15it's a great cause and something that we definitely need to amplify in this day and age liam
31:20we feel like express up and end would really work well together yeah the brand campaign i'm a bit
31:26confused about what it is jordan's story probably resonated more than the campaign did i think the logo
31:33feels like a tip removal like a rubbish removal company rather than fashion i understand the
31:39reservations but you have to imagine it on in your online shop for example that item of clothing is
31:44what is going to attract the customers i certainly think it'll stand out on the website i just think
31:48it'll stand out on the website forever yeah i understand thank you for your time today very much
31:54appreciate it thank you cheers listen i'm gutted we didn't get that sal there was definitely some
31:59reservations towards the branding however i feel like the main reason that they didn't go for it
32:04is because the skirt and the crop top was just too niche for their brand hi girls i'm dino on
32:09the
32:10other team you've seen our brand and you've seen our products um what is it you think after dean gets
32:15an early bite well we really love the brand name so i think we'd like to give it a go
32:20we've been looking
32:21at 500 units thank you thank you very much thank you also hoping to seal a deal it would be
32:27great to know
32:28from you guys what you thought about the products and our brand itself project manager chisola
32:34i think from a product perspective you've gone into a ferociously competitive market so it's really
32:42important that your brand stands out what i find from the brand is that it really gets lost the font
32:49is
32:49you know very you know pared back so it's hard to read you know i think you can feel our
32:54enthusiasm
32:54you can feel our passion and you know we would love to see if you were actually interested in you
32:59know placing an order i mean i think from a product perspective if unfortunately it wouldn't stand up
33:05to the competition so we wouldn't be looking to place an order okay
33:1130 minutes to go obviously we think express up's a great brand i think our collection is definitely unique
33:17while liam and anisa tie up a trial i think you do have a really niche brand it's important for
33:25us
33:25to introduce this in a small unit 60 units could you do that i think we could do that thank
33:33you thank you
33:33very much pushing for profit with sustainable marketplace generous ape i like the idea your
33:39story yeah inspirational there's something there jordan we're the small guys on the block here we're just
33:47getting started we're just knocking at the doors trying to get our message heard and i think you
33:51guys could be our way to do that to get our message out there i know it is a big
33:55risk for you guys but
33:56it would mean the world for us to go with even a smaller order it would it would change our
34:03lives and
34:03it would mean a whole lot to me um yeah i'm willing to take a bit of a risk let's
34:09give it a trial okay
34:10happy to go with 150 today on a trial basis let's go we believe in you and your story i
34:17really do
34:17appreciate your trust in us so happy to go with 150 thank you thank you very much guys the brands
34:24are
34:24putting orders but they lower jordan really put his own personal story into selling this brand but
34:30their designs they niche and that may be why they're hesitant to make orders which are big
34:36for chisola's clothing crew we'd love to stock you know our capsule collection in your store we'd love
34:42to know whether that's something you'd like to do too with amber rose having fallen short i don't
34:47think the product's quite right i'm not sure it's completely cohesive with the branding and with the
34:51logo so i think at this time we'd have to say no fishing for a second sale i love the
34:57top of fish
34:58tes i was thinking little mermaid that's the vision behind it dean so guys you've seen our brand
35:05we're all about keeping the plastic out of the ocean yeah so david how many units is it you normally
35:11trial out with 500 500 yeah and for a brand like ours we are really passionate about what we've got
35:19here
35:19so is there any more generosity that we can do with a 500 i could probably do a thousand can
35:26we close at 1500
35:28for the fish outfit there we are well done all of you thank you very much
35:36five minutes to go if we were to hypothetically make an order what would you guys have in mind
35:41100 units could you meet us at 175 yes okay thank you very much sir for both teams hi nice
35:49to meet you
35:50i'm dean i was the fish a final push for sales i'd just love to know your initial thoughts um
35:57yeah
35:58i don't think it would sell we would love to work together around the 180 units mark i just think
36:05that would be too many 100 100 would be the math okay so we'll shake your hand on 100 units
36:10i really
36:10like the pieces could we shake hands on 150 150 150 okay thank you very much it's quite niche it
36:18really
36:18would help us a lot if you could meet us at 75 we'll go to 75 thank you thank you
36:23i'm happy to do it
36:24great thank you thank you great 6 p.m guys how'd you get on i think all of them to
36:31be honest had
36:32an issue with the branding our side because the products were so niche they couldn't budge on those
36:37numbers that's it we've put our heart and soul into today let's get out of here yeah well done guys
36:44tonight sales will be totted up tomorrow in the boardroom addressing down
36:59you can go through to the boardroom now thank you
37:20well this task was all about creating your own eco fashion line to sell to retailers i mean you
37:28remember mr campbell here the other day with his uh bright blue business smurf suit
37:36i think pontings want the jacket back now they can't have it so um parallel which is only became
37:45the pm is that right yeah i put on fashion shows at school and at university as well um and
37:50so i've
37:50not necessarily designed clothes before but i thought i would be the right person to deliver so you've
37:56gone for what i mean i know i should be able to tell yeah we did go for sportswear i
38:04think myself um
38:05ambrose in particular wears a lot of athleisure um and so we definitely wanted to go down athleisure so
38:11kind of like the athletics athletics and leisure combined so it's the new word in the oxford dictionary
38:20so chisola you were solely in charge of designing the items yeah i was the only one i think on
38:27the
38:27team who'd had any kind of experience in terms of picking out pieces being a part of that process
38:32the clothes they're very plain and simple um they're not really ambitious at all in any way are they
38:39there's always room for improvement but i do stand by it and i know the yoga pants are definitely very
38:44trendy people like wearing them now the branding team is that your logo there it is who drew that
38:51then is that you that was me it reminds me of lettering that they have on black and white movies
38:56he's trying to keep it like elegant and had a feminine touch and that's what we landed on i did
39:01specifically say i kind of wanted to stay away from squiggly writing and design and i want it to just
39:07be
39:07quite clean and simple so you know i was disappointed when i did initially see that how can a team
39:12called
39:13parallel have squiggly lines but you run out of time really we did run out of time we had about
39:21that
39:21that took them all of five minutes yeah was it so there so it says making women look fantastic
39:26by wearing recycled plastic yeah or making woman look hip from stuff from the tip
39:32no dean likes that one yeah you use that one anyway now i understand that when you were doing
39:40your pitch to these uh eight retailers that you were dancing around dressed up as a fish is that
39:47right dean that's right the idea of the fish is that you're telling them to get out of your sea
39:52yeah my home get out my ocean you don't belong here i think who used to do that in these
39:57standards
39:57what was that peggy mitchell get out my get out of my sea that's precisely what it was like would
40:04you say they literally done you up like a kipper they definitely did and then you went round and
40:09spoke to them didn't you see if you could get any orders yeah how do you think you did um
40:13you know it
40:14was it was a mixed mixed bag i think you know some quite liked the clothes others didn't all right
40:20now let's go and talk to ascendancy now jordan i understand you became the pm after a little bit
40:29of banter with liam yeah yeah banter i wouldn't call it banter lord sugar when you gave the brief it
40:37was
40:37very apparent to the team that they know that i have a clothing brand and i make patterns on a
40:42daily
40:42basis um i wasn't expecting anyone else to go for it and i was even more surprised when they actually
40:49voted for jordan but as a professional you should say right okay let's get on with it then um that's
40:57your stuff over there i know that some part of men's fashion is skirts but who who is pushing that
41:04idea there's there's people who wear this very regularly there is in scotland they wear them yeah
41:10to be honest lord sugar i was on the same wavelength and it was me as pitch to say well
41:14you're claiming
41:15you know we're going to be a brand championing men expressing themselves you know not being afraid
41:20to wear whatever they want to wear if we turned up with you know cargo trousers or a boxy t
41:24-shirt
41:25how are we differentiating ourselves and trying to show that you can be empowered no matter what you
41:29wear hmm okay um maybe i'm missing the point because i'm a 78 year old fart right so just tell
41:39me
41:40what what this message is yeah look just for years i suppose i went through school work jobs or i
41:46just
41:46never spoke up it was just stay silent don't speak when spoken to and i went through a lot of
41:51my life
41:51like that and coming into this process has really taught me to be a man isn't just to be silent
41:56and
41:56not speak up when you have certain emotions and that's all i wanted to convey personally i found it
42:02very empowering yeah it's a strong story uh how it translates into the clothes anyway on the branding
42:11side it was liam and anisa is that right yeah correct lord sugar liam was sub team leader and
42:17he has experience in fashion i don't have any experience in fashion but i think liam was quite
42:20upset in day one about not being project manager so i did feel a lot of pressure on myself to
42:25step up
42:26and have a lot of ideas right okay let's see the logo lord sugar i put liam as sub team
42:31leader because
42:32he makes logos for clothing on a daily basis and honestly that doesn't scream clothing brand to
42:36me and i was very disappointed when i saw the visual of the logo if i if i may just
42:40answer that lord
42:41sugar so i've designed my own logo so that's one logo for my own brand i design clothes and patterns
42:47on a daily basis regardless of being pm i felt like i should have been on the design team and
42:52i felt that
42:53you put yourself on the design team because you just felt like it would be more fun i've created a
42:57scapegoat because i'm project manager right now that's what you're doing i'm not saying you're
43:01a scapegoat at all i've designed one logo for my own business so you don't sound like a happy happy
43:06team to me anyway let's cut to the chase here shall we now um karen can you tell me how
43:14your team did
43:15with the fashion retailers um uh well alan only three of the eight retailers yeah uh bought items and their
43:24total amount of units they uh sold was 2150 right tim exactly the same thing well they got orders from
43:33a lot more retailers they managed to secure six out of eight of them right but unfortunately they got
43:41a lot less units only 1160 units were taken i see they must have thought it was niche
43:55well okay um you've made it to the final five so very well done i've got a little treat lined
44:02up for
44:02you i'm sending you on a vip river cruise uh where you enjoy a luxury dining experience yeah uh as
44:11you
44:11sail down the thames yeah come on thank you tears of joy yeah and really absolutely well done thank you
44:19thank you okay okay this is a tough one um you heard me mention the final five
44:45but there's three of them there which means two of you uh we'll be leaving the process today okay so
44:53off you go uh and i'll see you back here later yeah thank you
45:06look at this we made it a winner's pm a fashion task i mean yeah you just couldn't
45:13make it up i'm elated i'm so happy hey hey i don't think i have enough words to describe the
45:23feeling
45:23now that i've reached the final five it's a massive achievement and i'm really really excited for the
45:28interviews fireworks for the final five this is epic i always knew i was going to get this far
45:38otherwise i wouldn't have signed up you know it's no point being in it if you're not like planning on
45:43winning it cheers cheers all right come on clear off everyone get out of my ocean
45:54why did you guys land on a crop top and a skirt i appreciate there's a great story but it
45:59didn't
46:00make business sense crop tops are becoming more popular in men's fashion and so are skirts that is
46:05a fact in fashion mia's idea was the skirt it's such a niche target audience and i really feel
46:10like the failure of this task lies with the design team it was the branding that they didn't like they
46:16said they didn't feel like the message was clear enough and if it had been they would have placed
46:20more orders i personally don't agree with that it's not about agreeing or not that's the fact that's what
46:24they said to us that's that's what they said i'm disappointed in the branding anisa has said she
46:29did most of the work so it would be good to see more accountability from her i think liam on
46:33day
46:33one he couldn't get behind it so it was kind of spiraling downwards it was very like negative i
46:38couldn't get my head around the fact that we had chosen such a niche category and i was struggling to
46:43get creative liam was sulking and huffing and puffing from day one he wasn't behind me as a project
46:50manager wasn't behind the team and i do think he's to blame
47:03yes could you send the four of them in please
47:16right um so look i've got to tell you
47:22for intelligent people i don't know what possessed you to produce that thing there i'm not worried
47:28that it's a skirt but who in their right mind is going to place an order for that it's like
47:34jordan in
47:35his technicolor nightmare that's what that is look i i get that and i take full accountability for it
47:40i was trying to really push the boat out in hindsight it was too risky and it's too niche so
47:45niche yeah
47:46hard to sell i would say yeah looks like lady gaga's laundry basket and then you got liam despondency
47:55i thought that the whole task was about you know upcycling and that for me was a very strong message
48:01that's why i wanted to be the project manager to get them points across and jordan i heard you wanted
48:06to be the project manager i think i've heard it 20 times sorry okay i don't need to hear it
48:11anymore
48:11you wasn't the project manager the point is is that when you're in a team you've got to back the
48:17team
48:17you have to back it and stop moaning you know um who chose express up so anisa chose it um
48:24obviously i was
48:25something sounds like a super fast viagra yeah i mean yeah i kept with like with the naming what
48:33we were going for is expressing yourself from upcycled fashion and that was the meaning behind
48:36it one of the messages that jordan did convey in the briefing is to create something bold bright
48:40vibrant and the brief on that aspect was not met we used neon colors for it i don't know what
48:46else
48:46more we could have done to make it look more vibrant where's where does where does the failure of
48:51this task lay then i think the failure is down to the nicheness of the products i think mia was
48:56the
48:56one who's pushing to go for a niche product i understand her reasoning in terms of fashion
48:59but it doesn't make business sense so i think it does line the design team look in hindsight i probably
49:05should have stuck my guns and gone with something potentially more traditional but i think as project
49:09manager you need to be collaborative you have to listen to your whole team who do you think the
49:13failure of this house lays with them honestly i feel like liam had limited input on day one and that's
49:18not good enough at this stage of the process you know i feel like on day one i was naturally
49:23a
49:23little bit disappointed but what i will say lord sugar is i still put suggestions out there
49:27see one of the things i can't get my head around is in a team despondency near to what i
49:35would call
49:36sabotage if you like and that's the kind of message i got back about you liam i do feel that
49:43i did put in
49:44an effort in the day one you know i was in the video i made contributions to names and i
49:49feel
49:49like i've done a lot in this task well i have to work on my instincts really lord sugar if
49:55i may
49:55no just be quiet a minute liam i can't really forgive anybody for not giving their all i feel
50:02no matter how bad it is i definitely did give my all yeah i made them what i've heard you
50:07didn't
50:09and so it is with regret liam that you're fired thank you lord sugar baron asperger
50:28right step outside i'll call you back in shortly where another one will be getting fired thank you
50:35thank you lord sugar what do you think of anisa listen anisa was responsible for all of the
50:46branding and it wasn't well received by the buyers the reason why they didn't go as big as they could
50:50have gone because they didn't believe in the branding how about um jordan in this instance it
50:55seems to me that he got more caught up in this male expression than he did about selling clothes to
51:01retailers i think he just lost his focus and what about mia sometimes she pushes candidates in her
51:08way rather than what's best for the team she openly admits that she takes big risks and in this task
51:12that was that was a risk too far hmm yes could you send the three of them in please
51:31um mia the products really came from you even though jordan was the project manager i think you
51:42influenced him quite a lot i put forward an idea i recognized it wasn't great but ultimately jordan
51:50as project manager didn't have to go with my ideas men's skirt long trailing coat and a crop top
51:58how many sales did you think you were going to make with that stuff i didn't know i didn't know
52:05how
52:05we we could sell but we were going to try and get it as high as possible all the branding
52:11the
52:12retailers didn't like it that was something to do with you wasn't it yeah i would say in this task
52:17i wasn't a sub team lead liam was being quite negative and spiraling downwards so i had to step up
52:23you anisa have been in the losing team eight times so tell me why i shouldn't fire you but there's
52:29a
52:29reason i'm still here each task i've been a key contributor i've not been the failure of the task
52:34i've always shown resilience i've always shown i'm adaptable and i've always given it my best
52:41jordan why shouldn't i fire you look sugar i think throughout this entire process week in week
52:46out i've been improving when it comes to my business i came from nothing similar to yourself
52:50i am great at team building i'm great and getting the most out of my teammates do i think liam
52:55would
52:55agree with you well look i think with liam he just wasn't getting on board but if that was my
52:59business
53:00and someone didn't get on board with the vision they'd be gone that's the reality of it i work with
53:04people who who buy into me as a person and mia why shouldn't i fire you you know i've put
53:09myself in
53:10positions of risk you know i've shown in this process i'm a strong it's got some strong sales acumen
53:15i recognize i am largely at fault for the loss but i'm really proud of what i've achieved in the
53:20process
53:20well i'm gonna have to conclude now um nia you are right that you've done a bit of selling in
53:30the
53:30past but it's not just the selling and anisa you haven't been very successful in the process so far
53:43and so regretfully anisa um you know i have to consider if i may i would say what i have
53:51shown is
53:52hard work yeah yeah look anisa please i don't want to talk about it more everybody works hard um jordan
54:03you've worked your way up the ladder in this process and i've been quite impressed the manner in
54:12which you present yourself and so you're going to be in the final five okay thank you lord sugar don't
54:20let me down i won't um right um so regretfully mia i have to say that you were responsible
54:36overall for the disaster of these designs and therefore i'm sorry to say that you're fired
54:47no problem thank you so much for the opportunity i've loved every single bit of it thank you brian
54:51s brady thank you tim good luck me thank you
55:01right well there you go the final five um i'll see you in a few days time when we'll be
55:07setting the
55:08next task which i'm sure you have an inkling of what it's about
55:12um i'd be crying as well if i was facing claude anisa sorry congratulations thank you so much guys
55:19i've been following the process since i was seven years of age with my mother and it's been a dream
55:23to even get here so to be in the final five i'm not going to let you guys down you're
55:27going to see
55:28what i'm made of off you go then you too thank you lord sugar
55:44i think i've been a really consistent good contributor to each and every task
55:48you know i've taken risks i've taken on leadership positions it's not fair that i'm the one going home
55:55you know i'm glad that i've been fired i'm very grateful for the experience i feel like i've done
56:00my best and i was really happy to make it this far i mean that was a fiery boardroom from
56:07the very
56:08beginning i actually couldn't believe my eyes yeah just coming in get the predictions out there it's
56:13hard but i do think that mia and anisa will be coming back i think it's going to be anisa
56:19and i'm hoping that it's going to be liam you know i love liam but you can't throw your dolly
56:23out
56:23the pram like that you just can't and genuinely my brother my brother
56:35let us know man i need to know every single detail first one to go was liam really just said
56:41liam's
56:42attitude in like day one yeah he was being really negative he didn't contribute as much what happened
56:47with mia mia took full accountability but i think she thought that would save her but in the end she
56:51just admitted to being kind of the failure of the task wow honestly well done we're really proud of
56:56you proud of us all we made it to the final
57:02now five candidates remain lord sugar's search for his next business partner continues
57:12next time oh my gosh i'm nervous for this one guys they dig up all of your skeletons
57:18interrogations this business plan is a car crash it's so unrealistic as to be just nonsensical
57:26explanations i thought it'd be quite funny does it really feel like fun right now i've never been
57:31more embarrassed in my whole life and in the boardroom i'm gonna be blunt i don't think it's a good
57:37idea
57:37eliminations you're fired
57:40so
