03:25the word of the Lord thanks be to God
03:34hey
03:36Praise our servants of the Lord. Praise the name of the Lord. May the name of the Lord be blessed
03:41both now and forever. Blessed be the name of the Lord forever.
03:46From the rising of the sun to its setting, praised be the name of the Lord. High above all nations
03:52is the Lord, above the heavens his glory. Blessed be the name of the Lord, who is like the Lord
03:59our God, who has risen on high to their thrones, yet stooped from the heights to look down, to look
04:07down upon heaven and earth.
04:10Blessed be the name of the Lord forever. From the dust he lifts up the poor. From the dung heap
04:18he raises the poor. To set them in the company of princes, yes, with the princes of the people. Blessed
04:26be the name of the Lord forever.
04:29A reading from Corinthians, 1 Corinthians.
04:35The language of the cross may be illogical to those who are not on the way to salvation, but those
04:41of us who are on the way see it as God's power to save.
04:45As scripture says, I shall destroy the wisdom of the wise and bring to nothing all the learning of the
04:52learned.
04:52Where are the philosophers now? Where are the scribes? Where are any of our thinkers today?
04:59Do you see now how God has shown up the foolishness of human wisdom?
05:04If it was God's wisdom that human wisdom should not know God, it was because God wanted to save those
05:11who have faith through the foolishness of the message that we preach.
05:15And so, while the Jewish people demand miracles and the Greeks look for wisdom, here are we preaching a crucified
05:26Christ to the Jews, an obstacle that they cannot get over, to the pagans' madness, but to those who have
05:35been called, whether they are Jews or Greeks, a Christ who is the power and the wisdom of God.
05:40For God's foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God's weakness is stronger than human strength.
05:48The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.
05:52Alleluia, alleluia.
05:54Happy are you, O blessed Virgin Mary.
05:56Without dying, you won the martyr's crown.
05:59Besides the cross of the Lord.
06:02Alleluia.
06:05The Lord be with you.
06:07A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
06:10Glory to you, O Lord.
06:13Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother and his mother's sister, Mary, the wife of Clopas, and Mary of
06:21Magdala.
06:22Seeing his mother and the disciple he loved standing near her, Jesus said to his mother,
06:29Woman, this is your son.
06:32Then to the disciple he said,
06:35This is your mother.
06:36And from that moment, the disciple made a place for her in his home.
06:44The Gospel of the Lord.
06:46Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
06:56Today is the Feast of Mary, help of Christians, as we said at the beginning of Mass, patroness of Australia.
07:03The early church in Australia here, the church of the early days, of this church being in Australia,
07:09chose Mary as patroness of Australia.
07:12And of course, in the Gospel today, we heard how Jesus gives Mary to us as mother,
07:18and how we are her children.
07:20So mother, in the sense that she gave the physical birth to Jesus,
07:24but she was also the first Christian disciple,
07:28the one who said yes first to Jesus, to the Incarnation, when Gabriel came to her.
07:34And she could not quite foresee all the challenges that she had to go through.
07:39But she trusted, and she kept on trusting.
07:42And the reminder for us all to keep trusting,
07:45regardless of the circumstances that we find ourselves in.
07:49Mary is our mother, helper, role model, all those things,
07:54walking with us our journey as mother.
08:13Today we also pray the creed.
08:16I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth,
08:20and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
08:23who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
08:26born of the Virgin Mary,
08:28suffered under Pontius Pilate,
08:30was crucified, died, and was buried.
08:33He descended into hell.
08:35On the third day he rose again from the dead.
08:37He ascended into heaven
08:39and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty.
08:43From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
08:46I believe in the Holy Spirit,
08:48the Holy Catholic Church,
08:49the communion of saints,
08:51the forgiveness of sins,
08:53the resurrection of the body,
08:54and life everlasting.
08:56Amen.
09:03Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation.
09:06For through your goodness we have this bread to offer,
09:08which the Church has given you,
09:09when hands have made it to become for us the bread of life.
09:12Blessed be God forever.
09:15Amen.
09:30Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation.
09:33For through your goodness we have this wine to offer,
09:35fruit of divine work of human hands,
09:38it will become our spiritual drink.
09:40Blessed be God forever.
09:51Let us pray, brothers and sisters,
09:53that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God,
09:57our Almighty Father.
09:58May the Lord accept this sacrifice at our hands
10:01for the praise and glory of God's name,
10:04for our good and the good of God's Holy Church.
10:08Look, O Lord, upon the prayers and offerings of your faithful,
10:12presented in commemoration of the Blessed Mary,
10:15of Blessed Mary, the Mother of God,
10:18that they may be pleasing to you
10:20and may confer on us your help and forgiveness.
10:24Through Christ our Lord.
10:26Amen.
10:27The Lord be with you.
10:30Lift up your hearts.
10:31Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
10:36It is truly right and just,
10:38our duty and our salvation,
10:40always and everywhere to give you thanks,
10:42Lord, Holy Father,
10:44Almighty and eternal God,
10:46and to praise, bless and glorify your name
10:48on this solemnity, this feast day
10:51of the motherhood of Mary,
10:54help of Christians.
10:56For by the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit
10:59she conceived your only begotten Son
11:01and without losing the glory of virginity
11:04brought forth into the world the eternal light,
11:08Jesus Christ our Lord.
11:10Through him the angels praise you,
11:12dominions adore,
11:14and powers tremble before you.
11:16Heaven and the virtues of heaven
11:18and the blessed seraphim
11:20worship together in exaltation.
11:23May our voices, we pray,
11:25join with this in humble praise
11:27as we acclaim
11:29Holy, Holy, Holy Lord,
11:32God of hosts,
11:34heaven and earth are full of your glory.
11:36Hosanna in the highest.
11:38Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
11:42Hosanna in the highest.
11:44You are indeed holy, O Lord,
11:46the fount of all holiness.
11:47Make holy, therefore,
11:49these gifts, we pray,
11:50by sending down your Spirit upon them
11:52like the dewfall,
11:53so that they may become for us
11:55the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
11:58At the time he was betrayed
12:00and entered willingly into his passion,
12:03he took bread
12:06and giving thanks,
12:07broke it
12:07and gave it to his disciples,
12:10saying,
12:11Take this, all of you,
12:12and eat of it,
12:14for this is my body
12:15which will be given up for you.
12:22In a similar way,
12:24when supper was ended,
12:25he took the chalice
12:27and once more giving thanks,
12:30he gave it to his disciples,
12:32saying,
12:32Take this, all of you,
12:33and drink from it,
12:34for this is the chalice of my blood,
12:37the blood of the new
12:39and eternal covenant,
12:40which will be pulled out for you
12:42and for many
12:43for the forgiveness of sins.
12:46Do this in memory of me.
13:03The mystery of faith.
13:05Dying, you destroyed our death.
13:08Rising, you restored our life.
13:10Lord Jesus, come in glory.
13:19Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial
13:22of his death and resurrection,
13:24we offer you, Lord,
13:25the bread of life
13:27and the chalice of salvation,
13:29giving thanks
13:30that you've held us worthy
13:32to be in your presence
13:33and minister to you.
13:35Humbly we pray
13:36that partaking of the body
13:38and blood of Christ,
13:39we may be gathered into one
13:41by the Holy Spirit.
13:43Remember, Lord,
13:44your church spread throughout the world
13:46and bring her to the fullness of charity,
13:48together with Leo, our Pope,
13:51me, your unworthy servant
13:52and all the clergy.
13:55Remember also our brothers and sisters
13:58who have fallen asleep
13:59in the hope of the resurrection
14:01and all who have died in your mercy.
14:04Welcome them into the light of your face.
14:08Have mercy on us all, we pray,
14:10that with the blessed Virgin Mary,
14:12Mother of God,
14:13blessed Joseph, her spouse,
14:15with the blessed apostles
14:16and all the saints who have pleased you
14:18throughout the ages,
14:20we may merit to be coerced
14:22to eternal life
14:22and may praise and glorify you
14:25through your Son, Jesus Christ.
14:31Through him and with him
14:32and in him, O God, almighty Father,
14:35in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
14:37all glory and honour is yours
14:39for ever and ever.
14:41Amen.
14:44At the Saviour's command
14:46and formed by divine teaching,
14:48we dare to say,
14:49Our Father, who art in heaven,
14:52hallowed be thy name,
14:54thy kingdom come,
14:55thy will be done on earth
14:57as it is in heaven.
14:59Give us this day our daily bread
15:01and forgive us our trespasses
15:03as we forgive those who trespass against us
15:07and lead us not into temptation,
15:09but deliver us from evil.
15:11Deliver us, Lord, we pray,
15:13from every evil.
15:14Graciously grant peace in our days
15:16and by the help of your mercy,
15:19we may be always free from sin
15:21and safe from all distress
15:22as we await the blessed hope
15:25and the coming of our Saviour,
15:27Jesus Christ.
15:28For the kingdom, the power
15:30and the glory are yours
15:32now and for ever.
15:34Lord Jesus Christ,
15:35we said to your apostles,
15:38Peace I leave you,
15:39my peace I give you.
15:40Look not on our sins,
15:42but on the faith of your church
15:43and graciously grant her peace
15:46and unity in accordance
15:47with your will,
15:48who live and reign
15:49forever and ever.
15:51Amen.
15:52The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ
15:54be with you always.
15:55Let us offer each other
15:56a sign of peace.
15:58Peace be with you all.

16:35to the supper of the Lamb.
16:37Lord,
16:37I am not worried you should enter
16:38under my roof,
16:40but only say the word
16:41and my soul shall be healed.
16:44My Jesus,
16:46I believe that you are present
16:47in the most blessed sacrament.
16:49I love you above all things
16:51and I desire to receive you
16:52into my soul.
16:54Since I cannot now receive you
16:56sacramentally,
16:57commonly,
16:58spiritually,
16:59into my heart,
17:00I embrace you as if you were already there
17:02and unite myself wholly to you.
17:05Never permit me to be separated from you.
17:08Amen.
17:09Let us pray.
17:14Refreshed by this heavenly sacrament,
17:16Lord God,
17:17we pray for Australia,
17:19our earthly home,
17:20that with the help of the Virgin Mary,
17:22we may become a new creation

17:28Amen.
