04:24May your people exult forever, O God,
04:27in renewed youthfulness of spirit,
04:29so that rejoicing now in the restored glory of our adoption,
04:32we may look forward in confident hope
04:35to the rejoicing of the day of resurrection,
04:38to our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
04:40who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
04:43God, forever and ever.
04:45Amen.
04:46A reading from the Acts of the Apostles.
04:49Then Peter stood up with the eleven,
04:52raised his voice and proclaimed,
04:55You who are Jews,
04:57indeed all of you staying in Jerusalem,
05:00let this be known to you and listen to my words.
05:04You who are Israelites, hear these words.
05:08Jesus the Nazarene was a man commended to you by God
05:12with mighty deeds, wonders, and signs,
05:15which God worked through him in your midst.
05:18As you yourselves know,
05:20this man, delivered up by the set plan
05:23and foreknowledge of God,
05:25you killed, using lawless men to crucify him.
05:29But God raised him up,
05:32releasing him from the throes of death,
05:34because it was impossible for him to be held by it.
05:38For David says of him,
05:40I saw the Lord ever before me,
05:43with him at my right hand.
05:44I shall not be disturbed.
05:47Therefore, my heart has been glad
05:49and my tongue has exalted.
05:51My flesh, too, will dwell in hope,
05:55because you will not abandon my soul
05:57to the netherworld,
05:58nor will you suffer your Holy One
06:01to see corruption.
06:02You have made known to me
06:04the paths of life.
06:06You will fill me with joy in your presence.
06:10My brothers,
06:11one can confidently say to you
06:13about the patriarch David,
06:14that he died and was buried,
06:16and his tomb is in our midst to this day.
06:19But since he was a prophet
06:20and knew that God had sworn an oath to him,
06:24that he would set one of his descendants
06:26upon his throne,
06:27he foresaw and spoke
06:29of the resurrection of the Christ,
06:31that neither was he abandoned
06:33to the netherworld,
06:35nor did his flesh see corruption.
06:37God raised this Jesus.
06:39Of this we are all witnesses,
06:42exalted at the right hand of God.
06:44He received the promise
06:46of the Holy Scripture from the Father
06:48and poured him forth,
06:49as you see and hear.
06:52The word of the Lord.
06:53Thanks be to God.
06:57Lord, you will show us
07:02the path of life.
07:09Lord, you will show us
07:14the path of life.
07:21Keep me, O God,
07:23Lord, for in you I take refuge.
07:27I say to the Lord,
07:30my Lord, are you.
07:34O Lord, my allotted portion
07:37and my cup,
07:40you it is who hold fast my lot.
07:47Lord, you will show us
07:53the pathway of life.
07:59I bless the Lord who counsels me.
08:05Even in the night my heart exalts me.
08:10I set the Lord ever before me.
08:14With him at my right hand
08:18I shall not be disturbed.
08:24Lord, you will show us
08:29the path of life.
08:36Therefore, my heart is glad
08:39and my soul rejoices.
08:42My body too abides in confidence
08:48because you will not abandon my soul
08:51to the netherworld,
08:53nor will you suffer your faithful one
08:57to undergo corruption.
09:03Lord, you will show us
09:08Lord, you will show us
09:09the path of life.
09:15You will show me the path to life,
09:19abounding joy in your presence,
09:25the delights at your right hand forever.
09:34Lord, you will show us
09:38A reading from the first letter of St. Peter.
09:49Beloved, if you invoke as Father
09:53him who judges impartially
09:55according to each one's works,
09:57conduct yourselves with reverence
09:59during the time of your sojourning,
10:01realizing that you were ransomed
10:03from your futile conduct,
10:05handed on by your ancestors,
10:08not with perishable things
10:10like silver or gold,
10:12but with the precious blood of Christ,
10:14as of a spotless, unblemished lamb.
10:17He was known before the foundation
10:19of the world,
10:20but revealed in the final time for you,
10:23who through him believe in God,
10:25who raised him from the dead
10:27and gave him glory,
10:28so that your faith and hope
10:30are in God.
10:32The word of the Lord.
10:34Thanks be to God.
10:41Alleluia, alleluia,
10:44Alleluia, alleluia,
10:50Alleluia, alleluia,
10:57Alleluia, alleluia,
11:00O Jesus, open the scriptures to us,
11:07Make our hearts burn
11:11while you speak to us,
11:20Alleluia, alleluia,
11:29Alleluia, alleluia.
11:32The Lord be with you.
11:34And with your spirit.
11:35A reading from the Holy Gospel
11:36according to Luke. That very day, the first day of the week, two of Jesus's disciples were going
11:48to a village seven miles from Jerusalem called Emmaus, and they were conversing about all the
11:55things that had occurred. And it happened that while they were conversing and debating,
12:01Jesus himself drew near and walked with them, but their eyes were prevented from recognizing him.
12:09He asked them, what are you discussing as you walk along? They stopped, looking downcast.
12:18One of them, named Cleopas, said to him in reply, are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not
12:27know of the things that have taken place there these days? And he replied to them, what sort of
12:34things? They said to him, the things that happened to Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in
12:44deed and word before God and all the people, how our chief priests and rulers both handed him over
12:51to a sentence of death and crucified him. But we were hoping that he would be the one to redeem
12:58Israel. And besides all this, it is now the third day since this took place. Some women from our group,
13:07however, have astounded us. They were at the tomb early in the morning and did not find his body.
13:15They came back and reported that they had indeed seen a vision of angels who announced that he was
13:21alive. Then some of those with us went to the tomb and found things just as the woman had described,
13:29but they did not see. And he said to them, oh, how foolish you are. How slow of hearts to
13:38believe
13:38all the prophets spoke. Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into
13:46his glory? Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them what referred
13:53to him in all the scriptures. And they approached the village to which they were going. He gave the
14:01impression that he was going on farther, but they urged him, stay with us, for it is nearly evening and
14:08the day is almost over. So he went in to stay with them. And it happened that while he was
14:16with them
14:17at table, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it and gave it to them. With that, their eyes were
14:26opened and they recognized him, but he vanished from their sight. Then they said to each other,
14:34were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and opened the scriptures
14:40to us? So they set out at once and returned to Jerusalem, where they found to gather together
14:46the eleven and those with them who were saying, the Lord has truly been raised and has appeared to
14:53Simon. Then the two recounted what had taken place on the way and how he had made known to them
15:01in the breaking of the bread. The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
15:09I believe in one God, the Father and Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
15:19I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages,
15:27God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the
15:35Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven
15:43and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became man. For our sake he was crucified
15:51under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried and rose again on the third day in accordance
15:59with the scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father, who will come
16:06again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in
16:13the Holy Spirit,
16:14the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the
16:21Son is
16:21adored and glorified, who has spoken to the prophets. I believe in one holy Catholic and apostolic church.
16:29I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins, and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
16:37and life of the world to come. Amen. That those who were baptized at Easter may grow ever stronger in
16:44their faith and become powerful witnesses of the gospel. Let us pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our
16:52words. For civil leaders and lawmakers, that the light and wisdom of Christ might illumine their decisions
16:58and strengthen them to pursue truth and justice. Let us pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.
17:06For all Christian families, that they may honor Christ as Lord in their hearts and homes.
17:12Let us pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. That our parish community will show care and concern to
17:19each other
17:20in every way possible. Let us pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.
17:26Lord, hear our prayer. Holy Father, give us strength and courage to reach out to our inactive Catholic
17:31family and friends. Guide us to share their names with love and trust in your grace. Let us pray to
17:39the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. For our deceased relatives and friends and all the departed, that they may be
17:46gathered into the eternal joy of their heavenly home. May they rest in the peace of Christ. Let us pray
17:53to
17:53the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. And for all the prayers that we hold in the silence of our hearts.
18:02Let us pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. Almighty God, we thank you for Jesus. Jesus, we thank
18:10you for
18:10the gift of your Eucharist. We thank you for the retreat we had today to help us appreciate this great
18:16gift. May we, like the disciples on the road to Amos, recognize you in your word and in the breaking
18:22of bread. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Amen. Pray, my brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice in yours may be
18:32acceptable to God, our Almighty Father. May the Lord accept the sacrifice in your hands for the praise and glory
18:39of his name,
18:40for our good and good of all his holy church. Receive, O Lord, we pray, these offerings of your exultant
18:46church. And as you have given our cause for such great gladness, grant also that the gifts we bring
18:52may bear fruit in perpetual happiness through Christ our Lord. Amen. The Lord be with you. And with your
18:59spirit. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let's give thanks to the Lord our God.
19:04It is right and just.
19:05It is truly right and just. Our duty and our salvation at all times to claim you, Lord.
19:10But in this time of all to Lord yet more gloriously, when Christ our Passover has been
19:15sacrificed, to him the children of light rise to eternal life, and the halls of the heavenly kingdom
19:21are thrown open to the faithful. For his death is our ransom from death, and in his rising the life
19:27of
19:27all has risen. Therefore overcome with pascal joy. Every land, every people exults in your praise,
19:33and even the heavenly powers with the angelic hosts, sing together the unending hymn of your glory
19:39as they acclaim.
19:46Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy,
19:58holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy,

20:07Hosanna in the fire.
20:13Blessing to you,
20:16counting the name of the Lord.
20:23Hosanna.
20:26Hosanna in the fire.
20:32Hosanna.
20:36Hosanna in the fire.
20:48Imagine you are on the road to Amos on that first Easter Sunday
20:52that you're Cleophas' companion.
20:56Imagine Jesus appearing to you,
20:59explaining the scriptures to you,
21:01breaking bread with you,
21:03and you recognize him in the breaking of bread,
21:06and your heart burned within you.
21:08Be ready now to recognize Jesus in the breaking of bread
21:12and let your heart burn within you.
21:15You're indeed holy, O Lord, the font of all holiness.
21:19Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
21:21by sinning down your spirit upon them like the dewfall,
21:24so that they may become for us
21:26the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
21:29At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion,
21:33he took bread and giving thanks broke it,
21:36and gave it to his disciples, saying,
21:38Take this, all of you, and eat of it,
21:41for this is my body,
21:44which will be given up for you.
21:54In a similar way, when supper was ended,
21:56he took the chalice,
21:57and once more giving thanks,
21:59he gave it to his disciples, saying,
22:01Take this, all of you, drink from it,
22:03for this is the chalice of my blood,
22:05the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
22:08which will be poured out for you
22:10and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
22:14Do this in memory of me.
22:23The mystery of faith.
22:32We proclaim your death, O Lord,
22:38and profess your resurrection
22:43until you come again.
22:54We proclaim your death, O Lord,
23:00and profess your resurrection
23:08until you come again.
23:16Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial
23:18of his death and resurrection,
23:19we offer you, Lord, the bread of life
23:21and the chalice of salvation,
23:22giving thanks that you've held us worthy
23:24to be in your presence and minister to you.
23:27Humbly, we pray that partaking of the body
23:29and blood of Christ,
23:30we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
23:33Remember, Lord, your church bread throughout the world,
23:35and bring her to the fullness of charity,
23:37together with Leo, our Pope,
23:39Louis, our Bishop, and all your people.
23:42Remember also our brothers and sisters
23:44who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection
23:46and all who have died in your mercy.
23:49Welcome them into the light of your face.
23:51Have mercy on us all, we pray,
23:53that with the Blessed Virgin Mary,
23:55Mother of God,
23:56with Blessed Joseph, our spouse,

23:59and all the saints who have pleased you
24:01throughout the ages,
24:02we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life
24:05and may praise and glorify you
24:07through your Son, Jesus Christ.
24:11Through him and with him and in him,
24:14O God Almighty Father,
24:15in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
24:17all glory and honour is yours
24:19forever and ever.
