00:00Tonight, MJF could walk out of Double or Nothing as AEW World Champion or without his hair.
00:05But with returns, title changes, and complete chaos all possible, the main event may only be the beginning.
00:10We'll let you know some possible surprises at Double or Nothing in this countdown video.
00:23Hey guys, welcome back to Wrestling News 365 if everyone is doing very well.
00:26As always, there are plenty of stories to get into, and tonight, AEW Double or Nothing comes to Queens, New
00:31York, with one of the biggest cards of the year.
00:34At the top of the show, Darby Allin defends the AEW World Championship against MJF in a title versus hair
00:40match.
00:40Darby is fighting to keep the title, MJF is fighting to avoid the most public haircut of his life.
00:46Elsewhere, FTR defend the AEW World Tag Team titles against Adam Copeland and Christian Cage in an I Quit match.
00:52If Cage and Cope lose, they can never team together again.
00:56Kazuchika Okada also defends the International Championship against Konosuke Takeshita, with their tension inside the Don Callis family finally reaching
01:04a breaking point.
01:05Mick Foley has also been confirmed for his first official AEW appearance on the buy-in, and Fightful Select has
01:10reported that Wardlow is in town for Double or Nothing.
01:13His appearance, though, has not been confirmed, but his name being around this show has created another major question heading
01:19into tonight.
01:19So, with championships, careers, hair, and possible surprises all on the line, we start with the biggest possible result of
01:25them all, and that is this AEW World Championship match.
01:30MJF could leave Double or Nothing as AEW World Champion, and, just as importantly for him, with every single hair
01:36still on his head.
01:38At the time of recording, Darby Allin is the AEW World Champion, and this match is not simply about the
01:43title, it is about embarrassment, it is about revenge, and it is about two men who have spent years finding
01:49new ways to get under each other's skin.
01:51Darby defeated MJF for the championship shortly after Dynasty, but the way he did it mattered.
01:57Darby defeated MJF with a headlock takeover.
01:59That is the same simple move MJF once used to defeat Darby at Full Gear in 2021.
02:05So, when Darby won the title, he did not just beat MJF, he beat him using one of the most
02:10painful memories of their rivalry.
02:12Since becoming champion, Darby has continued to defend the title at a rapid pace.
02:16On the final Dynamites and Collision special, before Double or Nothing, he defeated Speedball Mike Bailey.
02:21That marked the seventh successful title defense for Darby, but the match also showed the danger of Darby's championship reign.
02:28He keeps winning, but he keeps taking damage.
02:31Darby wrestles like he has never heard the phrase, take it easy, pal.
02:34He throws himself into every fight, he accepts every risk, and sooner or later, that style can leave an opening,
02:40and MJF knows that.
02:42After Darby defeated Mike Bailey, MJF attacked him.
02:45MJF even tried to use electric clippers during the confrontation, but Darby turned the situation around.
02:51He grabbed the clippers himself, and MJF had to escape before Darby could shave his head completely and early.
02:57The crowd even chanted bold at MJF as he backed away.
03:01That moment has summed up this entire build.
03:03MJF wants the championship back, but Darby wants something MJF cannot talk his way out of.
03:08He wants to humiliate him.
03:11Now, if MJF loses at Double or Nothing, he does not just lose another title match, he loses his hair
03:15in front of the AEW audience.
03:17And for a character who takes so much pride in his image, that would be a major public defeat.
03:22But the first possible shock on this list is that MJF avoids all of that.
03:25He finds a way to defeat Darby, and he becomes AEW World Champion for the third time.
03:30There are several ways that could happen.
03:32MJF could target the damage Darby has already suffered during his championship reign.
03:36He could wait for Darby to take one risk too many.
03:39He could use the ring.
03:40He could take advantage of a referee distraction.
03:43Or he could simply prove that on this night, he is prepared to do anything necessary to leave with the
03:47title.
03:48If MJF wins, it changes the entire direction of AEW heading into the summer.
03:52MJF would be able to say that Darby's reign was only a short interruption.
03:56He would have the championship again, and he would still have his hair.
03:59And every opponent chasing the world title would suddenly have to deal with him at the top of the company
04:04once more.
04:05For Darby, the loss would be just as important.
04:07He would have taken the championship from MJF.
04:10He would have forced MJF to risk something personal.
04:12And he would have still fallen short when the pressure was highest.
04:15That could send Darby towards another rematch, or it could force him to rebuild after a title reign where he
04:21kept surviving until his body finally could not carry him any further.
04:25The other possible result is just as big.
04:27If Darby wins, MJF gets his head shaved completely.
04:29That would be an image AEW could replay for years.
04:32But if MJF wins, he leaves New York with the championship, his pride, and his hair all still intact.
04:38So, what do you think happens?
04:39Does MJF become AEW world champion again?
04:41Or does Darby Allen finally shave him bald in the middle of the ring?
04:45Let me know your prediction in the comments section below.
04:48And while the main event could end with a new champion,
04:50the international championship match could be affected by one man who has not competed inside an AEW ring in a
04:57very long time.
04:58What if Wardlow returns during this international title affair that involves two members of the Don Callis family?
05:04Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Tekashta already has enough history to stand on its own.
05:08Okada is the AEW international champion.
05:10Tekashta is trying to prove that he no longer belongs behind anybody, especially not Okada.
05:16This rivalry has been growing inside the Don Callis family.
05:19Tekashta agreed to team with Okada before eventually facing him for the championship.
05:23But when the partnership fell apart, the tension became impossible to ignore.
05:27Tekashta abandoned Okada during their loss to the Young Bucks under the original terms that should have
05:32and could have stopped their championship match from happening.
05:34But Okada wanted to face Tekashta at double or nothing.
05:37That tells the story.
05:38Okada does not simply want to retain his championship, he wants to show Tekashta that he is still above him.
05:44For Tekashta, this match carries a different meaning.
05:47A win would not only give him the international championship, it would prove that he can step out of Okada's
05:52shadow.
05:52It would prove that he is not just another member of the Don Callis family standing behind its biggest star.
05:57He would become the man who defeated Okada when the title was on the line.
06:01And then, just before double or nothing, this match gained another possible layer.
06:04Fightful Select reported that Wardlow is in town for AEW Double or Nothing.
06:08At the time of recording, Wardlow has not been confirmed for the show.
06:11There is no official announcement that he will appear.
06:13But his name is very important to this story.
06:16Wardlow returned to AEW television at Forbidden Door last year.
06:19He aligned with the Don Callis family and he helped Okada.
06:22However, shortly after that return, Wardlow suffered a torn pectoral injury.
06:26Fightful reported that he has been out of action since September of last year.
06:29Wardlow also said in an interview last month that he was close to returning.
06:32So, if he is ready and AEW wants to bring him back into the story he left behind,
06:36Okada versus Takeshita would be a natural place to do it.
06:40One possible outcome is that Takeshita is about to defeat Okada and Wardlow returns to stop him.
06:45Wardlow could help Okada retain the championship.
06:47That would immediately restore Wardlow's place inside the Don Callis family.
06:51And it would give Takeshita a clear reason to turn fully against the group.
06:54Another possibility is that Takeshita wins the title first.
06:57He celebrates the biggest victory of his AEW career and then Wardlow appears after the match to attack him.
07:01That would allow Takeshita to become champion while also moving him directly into his next major rivalry.
07:06There is also the opposite scenario.
07:08Wardlow could return and decide that he no longer wants to stand beside Okada or Don Callis.
07:13He could side with Takeshita.
07:14He could help remove Okada from the center of the group.
07:16And he could completely change the balance of power in one moment.
07:20Of course, the most interesting point is this.
07:22Wardlow being in town does not mean Wardlow is appearing on the show.
07:25Wrestlers can be nearby for many reasons.
07:27And until he appears on screen, nothing is confirmed.
07:30But the report matters because it fits directly into the match already built around tension, loyalty and control in this
07:36group.
07:36If Takeshita wins, he may finally stand on his own.
07:39If Okada wins, he keeps control of the championship and the power inside the group.
07:43But if Wardlow appears, the result may only be the beginning of a much bigger story.
07:47So do you think Wardlow returns during Okada vs Takeshita?
07:50And if he does, should he help Okada or should he stand beside Takeshita?
07:53Let me know below.
07:55And from a group that could fall apart at any second, we now move to a tag team fighting to
07:59make sure their partnership does not end tonight.
08:01Of course, that is Adam Copeland and Christian Cage.
08:04Christian Cage and Adam Copeland are not simply challenging FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
08:09They are fighting to keep their team alive.
08:12At double or nothing, FTR defend the titles against Cage and Cope in an I Quit match.
08:16And if Cage and Cope lose, they can never team together again.
08:19That is a serious risk for two men whose friendship has lasted more than 30 years.
08:23Copeland and Christian have spoken about meeting when they were young.
08:26They grew up together.
08:27They chased the same dream together.
08:29And after everything they have been through, they are now finally standing side by side again in AEW.
08:35But FTR are trying to end that story, not just by beating them,
08:38but by forcing one of them to say the words that end the tag team forever.
08:41The final show before double or nothing gave FTR one more successful title defense.
08:45They retained the championships against Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong.
08:49But the finish also involved Stokely and a gold watch.
08:52That leaves a question heading into this match.
08:54Can FTR win when there is nowhere to hide?
08:56Because an I Quit match is very different from a normal tag team match.
08:59There is no quick pin.
09:01There is no lucky three count.
09:02Somebody has to be forced to say they cannot continue.
09:06And when a friendship is involved, that creates several possible ways that this match could end.
09:10FTR may try to hurt one partner badly enough that the other quits to save him.
09:13Imagine Copeland watching Christian trapped with nowhere to go.
09:16Or Christian watching Copeland take punishment while knowing one sentence could stop it.
09:20Maybe Beth Copeland gets involved again.
09:22And that's where Adam Copeland, to stop his wife getting hurt like she did previously at the hands of FTR,
09:26says, I quit just to stop it.
09:28That's what makes the stipulation so dangerous.
09:30But the third possible shock on the list is that Cope and Christian survive at all.
09:34They defeat FTR.
09:35They remain a team.
09:36And they become the new AEW World Tag Team Champions.
09:38If that happens, their reunion gains a clear reward.
09:41They would not simply avoid being split up.
09:43They would lead double or nothing as champions.
09:45And for a team with that much history, winning gold together again would become the biggest moment of their AEW
09:50partnership so far.
09:51For FTR, a loss would create a new direction.
09:53They have held the championships.
09:55They have controlled much of this rivalry.
09:56And they have placed Cage and Cope in a position where one defeat could change everything.
10:01If that plan fails, FTR may become even more desperate to get the titles back.
10:04Stokely could attempt to get involved again.
10:07That interference could work or it could be the mistake that finally costs FTR everything.
10:11There are only two outcomes here.
10:13Cage and Cope win the championships and continue their journey together.
10:16Or FTR force, one of wrestling's longest partnerships, to end on the spot.
10:20So do you think Cage and Cope finally defeat FTR and become tag team champions?
10:24Or will double or nothing be the final night they ever team together in All Elite Wrestling?
10:28Let me know your prediction in the comments.
10:30And while one championship match could decide the future of a legendary team,
10:33the women's title match could lead to a major name stepping straight back into the spotlight.
10:38What if Mercedes-Monnaie decides to return during the AEW Women's World Championship match?
10:42Or just after?
10:43AEW Women's World Championship match already has more than enough danger without a surprise return.
10:49Tekla defends the title against Akira Ishida, Jamie Hayter and Chris Statlander in a four-way match.
10:53Three challengers, one champion.
10:55And Tekla does not even have to be pinned to lose the championship.
10:58That is always the danger in a match like this.
11:01The champion can be in control.
11:02The champion can avoid taking the biggest moves.
11:04And the champion can still lose the title while somebody else gets pinned on the other side of the ring.
11:09Tekla enters the match with momentum on the final Dynamics and Collision special before double or nothing.
11:14She was part of the winning team in an eight-woman tag team match.
11:17Her side won after Julia Hart used Black Mist, allowing Tekla to roll up Thunder Rosa.
11:21So heading into the pay-per-view, Tekla remains champion.
11:24And Triangle of Madness remains a threat around her.
11:26But the challenges all bring serious danger.
11:28Hikaru Ishida knows what it takes to hold the women's championship.
11:31Jamie Hayter brings power and experience.
11:33And also a former women's world champion.
11:35And Chris Statlander has already been closely connected to Tekla's rise as champion.
11:38Once again, a former AEW women's world champion.
11:40The possible shock, though, comes after the match.
11:42At the time of recording, Mercedes-Benz Monet has not been announced for double or nothing.
11:46There is no confirmed report that she will return tonight.
11:48But her name has become part of the discussion around what could come next for the women's world championship.
11:53The clearest scenario would be Tekla retaining.
11:56Perhaps Shida and Hayter and Statlander become focused on one another.
12:00Perhaps Triangle of Madness creates a distraction.
12:02Perhaps Tekla finds the right opening at the right moment.
12:05She survives the four-way match.
12:06She raises the championship.
12:07And then Mercedes-Benz Monet appears.
12:09That would send a very simple message.
12:11Tekla may have survived three challenges.
12:13But another major challenger has already arrived.
12:16A confrontation between Tekla and Mercedes would immediately create a fresh title direction after double or nothing.
12:22It would give Tekla a major new opponent.
12:24And it would allow Mercedes to return directly into a championship story.
12:28The same idea could also work if the title changes hands.
12:31If Statlander wins, Mercedes could confront a champion she already has history with.
12:34If Jamie Hayter wins, Mercedes could target one of the division's strongest names.
12:38If Akira Shida wins, AEW could have two proven stars facing each other over the championship.
12:43So the possible return works no matter who wins the match.
12:45It could possibly even be involved in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament as well.
12:48But this must remain clear.
12:50The championship match has confirmed.
12:52Mercedes-Benz Monet appearing is not.
12:53For now, the question is whether Tekla escapes New York with the title.
12:56And whether the winner is suddenly met by the arrival of the CEO.
13:02So who do you think leaves double or nothing as AEW Women's World Champion?
13:04And do you think Mercedes-Benz Monet returns to confront the winner?
13:07Or does she return somewhere else on the show?
13:09Or does she return somewhere else on the show?
13:10And finally, there is one major appearance that is already official.
13:16But the question is whether AEW keeps it to the pre-show or turns it into something much bigger.
13:21Of course, that is Mick Foley.
13:24Now Mick Foley appearing at AEW Double or Nothing is not a rumor.
13:27It is confirmed.
13:28AEW has announced that Mick Foley will join Renee Paquette on the buy-in pre-show before the pay-per
13:33-view begins.
13:33That means for the first time, Mrs. Foley's baby boy is officially appearing for All Elite Wrestling.
13:39On its own, that is already a major talking point.
13:41Foley is one of the most recognized names in professional wrestling history.
13:45He has played a part in some of the most memorable and most chaotic moments the industry has ever seen.
13:49But what makes this appearance especially interesting is the type of show AEW is holding tonight.
13:54Because Double or Nothing features the return of Stadium Stampede.
13:57That match includes names such as Chris Jericho, The Hurt Syndicate, and The Elite on one side.
14:02And on the other side are Ricochet, members of the Don Callis family, The Demand, and The Dogs.
14:06It is a match designed around disorder.
14:08Multiple rivalries, multiple locations, and almost no way of knowing where the fight could end up next.
14:14Now, AEW has only confirmed Mick Foley for the buy-in.
14:17He has not been announced as part of Stadium Stampede.
14:19He has not been announced as a referee.
14:21He has not been announced as a manager, an outside enforcer, or anything like that.
14:24And there is no confirmation that he'll become involved in any physical angle tonight.
14:28When Mick Foley is in the building on the same night as Stadium Stampede,
14:32fans are naturally going to wonder if AEW has something more planned.
14:35The simplest outcome is that Foley joins Renee Paquette on the buy-in.
14:38He speaks about the show, he helps build excitement for the matches,
14:41and his AEW debut could be kept as a special pre-show appearance.
14:45That may be all AEW intends to do.
14:47But another possible outcome is that Foley appears again later in the night.
14:50Perhaps he introduces Stadium Stampede.
14:52Perhaps one of the teams crosses paths with him backstage.
14:54Perhaps he gives a reaction after the match.
14:57AEW could create a memorable moment without asking Foley to take part in anything dangerous.
15:01Maybe he just uses Mr. Socko. That's it.
15:03There is also the possibility this appearance leads to another role in the future.
15:07Foley does not need to wrestle to add importance to a storyline.
15:10Sometimes the presence of a respected legend is enough to make one moment feel bigger.
15:14There's even speculation maybe he does get involved with MJF.
15:17They teased it before.
15:18There are even plans for a six-week program before,
15:20but Foley got injured during training in 2024, so he decided not to go with it.
15:24So whether Mick Foley only appears on the buy-in,
15:26or whether AEW has one more surprise planned for him,
15:29his confirmed debut adds another layer to a night already filled
15:32with championship stakes, possible returns, and complete uncertainty.
15:36So do you think Mick Foley remains on the buy-in only,
15:39or could he appear again during Stadium Stampede,
15:41or another part of Double or Nothing?
15:43Let me know your thoughts on that below as well.
15:46So there you go, guys.
15:47Those are five possible major moments that could happen tonight at AEW Double or Nothing.
15:51Does MJF leave as the new AEW World Champion,
15:54or is Darby Allin about to shave his head in front of the entire world?
15:57Could Wardlow finally return?
15:59Will Cage and Cope save their partnership?
16:00Could Mercedes-Monnaie step back into the women's title picture,
16:03and does Mick Foley have a bigger part to play than we currently know?
16:07Make sure you let me know all of your predictions in the comments section below.
