00:50dickhead uh no legitimately i uh i can't deny the potential of this one i think it's reasonable
00:58to say looking at this card that if we're sat here tomorrow and i'll probably always say it's fine but
01:04if you're saying it was fine i might it's maybe it's gone wrong a little bit this card actually
01:09promises stuff there's real potential there's indeed real potential um aew dynamite wednesday
01:15third of june emanates live from the seagull center or the seaman center good in richmond virginia
01:23i had a scan um of wrestle ticks didn't have the seating map but i've googled the venue it looks
01:31like
01:31a 7 000 seater which even in the event of a sort of underwhelming attendance you can sort of bring
01:37that
01:37sort of stage setup forward and hide it so i'm expecting a half decent look and aesthetic
01:43the crowd last week wasn't amazing um there was a point where it was like a weekly oh we're back
01:48it's 2021 levels so no guarantee of that tonight but hopefully the seaman center um gets hard
01:55make some calm it makes some calm tonight uh speaking it's good it's funny it's good stuff
02:02it's all good stuff speaking of coming yep um a lot of people might when this match takes place
02:07uh because it's quite a big one it's mjf versus rush in an aew world title match now realistically
02:13they've already told you that mark briscoe is the probable world title contender at forbidden door
02:19bit of classic tony khan and is uh i don't know why i'm booking this because i'll just literally
02:24showing you the next thing we're doing later regardless this match should rule now mjf and
02:29rush have battled once on dynamite before but the dynamics um and the vibe were all very very
02:36different indeed this was at a point when mjf was on the very slow comeback trail um was this match
02:44in fact when he was doing his uh oh he looks a bit like triple h yeah that specific period
02:49that
02:50specific period where mjf's back he's apologizing for the devil and he's done the thing where he was
02:55a baby face and he's returned as a baby face and he's given one more fist of it to try
03:00and salvage the
03:01baby face turn because the fans still wanted it um he'd been absent as well so usually the wrestling
03:07rule is if you are away for any length of time regardless of what role you'd been playing
03:12beforehand people want to cheer you and they're happy to see you back this was uh it didn't go
03:19particularly well um mjf just isn't an amazing baby face he is which is just as well he compensates for
03:27that by being a generational heel to use his own verbiage all of which is to say that as good
03:33as that
03:33first match was it was like it just never felt right or never felt as good as it could be
03:38watching
03:38mgf portray a baby face he is not rush is going to play the situational baby face and the idea
03:44of
03:44mgf being cocky as all hell being that dickhead the irresistible dickhead that he can be and then
03:51getting you know the comeuppance and getting lacerated with those roosh chops him doing that oh
03:57sell that he does when he's about to get landed with one um i've got high hopes for this yeah

04:03it's um you know on paper you look at this and you think right the way that roosh has been
04:08folded
04:08back into a w they could do the the heel versus heel match the lesser spotted but the heel versus
04:14heel
04:15where um there's a bit of competitive cheating there's a you know a bit of like a better rule
04:20bending not so much cheating yeah bending but the trick with those is to almost hide the fact that
04:26one of them is actually the baby face and this could be the dream for that yes as you say
04:29like
04:30roosh will be the baby face situationally or not he'll be the baby face here but i like the idea
04:34of
04:34it starting as if it's going to be a cheat off and who can who can bend the rules in
04:39like the cleverest
04:39way yeah who can do the stuff behind the referees back uh where they don't even get the talent
04:43off for it because the referees missed it or whatever but within those heel versus heels the idea is
04:48always to make the fans cheer for one of the wrestlers maybe after like the two or three
04:51minutes the rep the fans need to be in yeah and what's going on here and there's always that little
04:55tell where one wrestler's like kind of with me on this one aren't you like let's let's game like
05:00we're gonna cheat too but let's have some fun with it as opposed to this guy who just keeps getting
05:04rumbled so quite like the idea of because mjf i think you pointed this out last week there's a slight
05:10tweak here to the typical mjf formula of right i've got the belt back and you can buy my match
05:15at the
05:16pay-per-view i'm not doing what darby allen did that was stupid there's a little bit of a tweak
05:19here where maybe he feels like he's got to he's threatened by it a little bit he's got to prove
05:23that he's got the same metal that darby's got so he's straight away going back to work and he's
05:27defending against like a serious challenger in a ruche but then he subverts that by being such
05:32a blatant cheat that he's getting rumbled and it's almost like pantomime rumbling it's like i'm
05:36going to beat darby i'm going to bravely defend my title and then like cheat in the first 10 seconds
05:40and the referee catches it and admonishes him and he's like meanwhile ruche is doing it and just keeps
05:45getting away with this mjf's like blowing a gasket blowing a top and then has to like inadvertently
05:50has to do what he's promising to do he actually has to work to win even though he didn't come
05:55into
05:55this much planning to do so yeah i quite like how he's going to get dragged wrestling likes the deep
05:59water but he's going to get dragged into actually doing what he's saying which is fighting for his
06:04title defending his title and then mjf's so brilliant at hiding great matches under the veneer of being a
06:09coward isn't he especially on dynamite i would say yeah he loves it i've preferred his dynamite tv work to
06:13the pay-per-view stuff well he kind of understands that in the main the scale of the pay-per
06:17-view stage
06:18and like he goes into it thinking big when i think in dynamite there's almost like he's a bit cheeky
06:24with the construction of it like he allows for this to be more like he's a bit less self-conscious
06:29on tv
06:30i find maybe yeah like it's almost like tv creates a different expectation and he plays in that for a
06:36while and then suddenly 20 minutes have gone by and like i'm kind of watching a bit of a mini
06:39epic here
06:39yeah i didn't see this one coming really good at that and yeah roosh is perfect for it like roosh
06:43still feels like still feels box freshness come back for me roosh like i'm excited for this as if
06:48this is his like first bit of fed brain for you and it's good brain for once because they've hyped
06:54them up yeah for a long time well quite many weeks they have been giving them the video package giving
06:59them the squash treatment we've been discussing on this podcast like well what are they building them up for
07:04what's going on and it turns out to be this it's funny that you mention um an all heel dynamic
07:11because that's probably the route they're going to take here and i know what tape they're going to
07:14study or what tape they should study here now wait a minute i need to dust off an old classic

08:40in wrestling circles and fan circles because we talk about this a lot but the experience i wonder if this
08:45is an american thing as well or if it's uniquely british where what we consider the wwf boom that we
08:52grew
08:52up on wasn't actually the real boom we're not it's not like we're uh we're eating crumpets and tipping
08:57sipping tea but lord alfred hayes has been like oh bloody hell andre's been slammed by a hulk it was
09:03like i would i would uh you can beat yourself here but how would um lord alfred hayes talk about
09:09andre the
09:09giant he's a big effing boy isn't he um no but it was very much that warrior's a face painted
09:16effing lunatic
09:17yeah that's where the boom arrives so like the thing is it's like you could argue that the boom
09:24is well uh the what's the mtv show called whether it's roddy and hogan uh the water settler school
09:30yeah remains the highest cable rated program ever in wrestling history um wrestlemania one was obviously
09:38gigantic wrestlemania 3 is obviously gigantic like 86 is like a huge year like in terms of domestic box
09:45office and the mega power predates the uk doesn't it well this is it as well because the point i
09:51was
09:51going to make is that by the time they are really starting to build up the ultimate warrior who's
09:56considered to i don't know if it's just a uk fan thing because like we were a couple of years

10:00to it because the rise of sky sports so i'll be interested in the comments or um on x at
10:06what culture
10:06wwe adam sidgwick if this sort of is an american phenomenon as well because ultimate warrior is
10:14considered one of the biggest wwe legends ever one of the biggest stars a lot of people grew up loving
10:19him he was their favorite wrestler your favorite gateway really to all the wrestling when they were
10:22pushing him and really going right well warrior's next guy the boom had ended wrestlemania 5 had
10:27finished and then that's when they started to really push warrior into like the summer of 89
10:32against rude and all the rest of it then wrestlemania 6 happens and like the it's starting to like
10:37bust yeah so all of which is to say is that roddy piper was a way bigger star than we
10:42ever give him
10:43credit for yeah because we grew up with i'm already quite the guy's a bit weird he's just popping up
10:48at wrestlemania 5 just doing stuff what are you doing at wrestlemania 6 the united states cultural icon
10:54as opposed to ironic considering that he played a british character it's just he was weird if you are
11:00he was weird if you're a british millennial wwf fan on silver vision video roddy pipe was like a weird
11:06one keeps popping up i can infer that he's a big deal yeah but i don't get it yeah anyway

11:12ventura was a commentator and then he was replaced by roddy piper and you were like i know i'm supposed
11:16to think these guys were like legends legends fun commentators but where's the matches where's the
11:23whatever you would see them if you wanted to find them as you know became exposed to stuff but but

11:28loves them obviously yeah cm punk loves them one thing i do love about piper's work and i think that
11:33is just proper you know when like the dickhead ball knowers talk about how it had more soul back then
11:38and like the old magic and spaces between moves which obviously i know about but whatever roddy piper
11:45and rick flair had a tremendous battle of the bastards in them yeah they were really good at that
11:51and if you think right roddy piper is obviously idolized by mgf just basically takes that eye poke
11:58and has made it his own roosh being sort of could be the flair here and that he just loves

12:04spam a chop this might resemble what was the best one that they did was it 97 or piper and
12:10flair yeah
12:11yeah yeah probably because in when they worked together so the 80s stuff it's hard to like come
12:18by and flair was kind of way more grandiose the fed stuff they like i think it was just a

12:23choice they were very keen for roddy piper to be a bit more of a baby face yeah to like

12:27that flair is like this this dirty old bastard wrestler who's like cheats and that but wcw you
12:32could you could kind of do what they want so you did what they wanted yeah like they even like

12:36they were like in opposite tag teams and things like that they would like their little segments
12:39together it would mostly be about like who could get away with the most yeah when you were saying
12:43it i was picturing them in the the ww united's ring doing eye pokes as you were talking about those
12:48things there's a certain match they had that was just monumentally great considering where they were
12:52both at it was in 97 i think maybe a bash at the beach possibly they were doing they've been
12:58doing tag
12:59stuff as well yeah either way the template is there for mjf versus russia night there is not going to

13:04a title change but we talk about this a lot as well and that the idea is that by minute

13:09you'll be completely engrossed into thinking there will be a title change yeah but there's
13:14literally no chance in fact they might as well have booked this as an eliminator to give you half the
13:19idea if they booked this as an eliminator you'd think all right well maybe they're doing something
13:24akin to brodie king mgf and they're gonna get a second one out of it but it ain't you know
13:29how
13:29wilborn likes his impossible spots in his absence can i have an impossible aesthetic that's the thing i
13:34remind you constantly in wilborn's absence no one has to be him well agree to disagree it's not the
13:40law disagree uh burberry microphone cable please you know that or mgf gets throttled first by the green
13:51cable then brings back the burberry scarf to give me some of that back in the middle of the business
13:59in the middle of the business and they can out the match happens and jay white's tweeting like
14:03see look what i did yeah no catalyst kill this would be anything kill this for the billy of the
14:08business
14:09the billy of the business but that could be part of the theme where it's like oh you're gonna cheat
14:12well dickhead i'm actually better than you with this and i've got a burberry scarf to accomplish the
14:15same thing nice we've kind of booked this match now done it completed it so because we've completed it
14:20we'll move swiftly on to jet speed explodes talking more about wrestlemania 5 yep uh
14:28can't quite imagine speedball mike bailey the same kind of promo that randy savage i hate your stinking
14:35guts no uh different wrestlers different needs are mixed feelings on this one you know i said last week
14:41i was so it's uh it is the tnt title it's kevin knight versus speedball mike bailey bitterly bitterly
14:47disappointed that they did the turn last week i thought there was so much i don't i i just feel
14:51like that this was the plan uh and you could see that the the split and the turn and everything
14:56was
14:56coming there i think they've done a really good job on mapping that out this year but i genuinely feel
15:00like whoever's driven this one tony carl and the rest of themselves i just think they've underestimated
15:05the sentiment the interest in jet speed and this split and in mike bailey's that's where you get a
15:10banger straight away good point yeah great right those rules like uh it's it's fine you know like
15:18i don't want to i don't want to criticize this out of hand because this could be match one in
15:22a series
15:23they could they could wrestle and then they could they could subvert this way like kevin knight could
15:27almost feel a bit remorseful for what he did last week and he could beat speedball mike bailey but then
15:31want to shake his hand afterwards and then mike bailey pause it away and be like no he brought this
15:35up
15:35forget you you know whatever like i don't think it's going to go like that but it does just feel
15:39like we're we're rushing it's rushing through something there and it's hard this match that i
15:44can't wait to watch by the way has like an air of disappointment around it it's just strange i don't
15:48want to watch this now i was looking forward to this in two months time and the way wrestling works
15:53it's hard not to think that like speedball could even win this title but we've talked about these
15:57mid-card titles almost being a burden rather than a prize let's say mike bailey beats kevin knight big
16:03upset in the way that they're booking this show all he's done is is get that albatross of kevin
16:08knight and kevin knight can move up the card yeah and then kevin knight could have to go on be
16:11like
16:11he's won the real quiz really yeah like so i don't really like the stakes in it either i don't
16:16think
16:16the tnt title enhances it and i don't think the fact it's happening now helps i think the match will
16:20absolutely rule i can't wait for this like there kevin knight has become one of my favorite wrestlers this
16:24year and it's really something what tony khan has created with jet speed because mike bailey was one of
16:29my favorite wrestlers last year he has pushed both simultaneously as very probable singles breakout
16:34guys while maintaining what a great tag team they were it's really good stuff what does it tell us
16:40about the future of them that it's happening tonight what does it tell you about aew at large
16:45and its sort of inability to just really get you excited in the builds because here's the thing
16:51like you could do the derby turn and say speedball says something to the effect that they did last
16:59week of like why have you done that you can still walk it back you can still walk it back
17:04like just
17:04apologize do whatever kevin knight could say something to the effect of look it's nothing
17:08personal about you it isn't it's just a it's a derby thing don't worry about that like jet speed was
17:12still tight and then um speedball who is a smart baby face they should be going right okay well
17:19i emote with his with her face saying you know i don't necessarily believe you but okay we've
17:26invested enough trust in each other at this point where i'm willing to give you the benefit of the
17:30doubt then you could do a first match and it just so happens that speedball wins a match against
17:35someone and it's like oh well you're the number one contender at the tnt title and jet speed does
17:39friction there but kevin knight still maintains no that's nothing about you like it's just a derby
17:44thing then they could have the match and he able to draw on like basically i just want the open
17:51at
17:51the wrestlemania 10 to happen at all times yeah that's my pro wrestling jam really it's so great
17:57where they sort of like that's unreasonable no not at all i want to have that all times constantly
18:01where they sort of like kevin has been a bit of a dick in this match and like he's betraying
18:07the
18:07competitive spirit cheating bastard no no don't do it like this so i felt that could have missed
18:14some emotional torture they've missed some manipulation they've missed some subtle character
18:19building by going straight into it because he's bad bailey last week this can't be a shake hands
18:25and then sort of the tone mutates throughout the match they've kind of lost that i'll say all this
18:30is a little whining bitch two minutes in i'll be exploding for this this is it right is tony khan
18:38frustrating in his methods or again is it one of them situations where you kind of have to give him
18:44more credit than he gets last week mike bailey kind of s to b right in terms of promo the
18:52choice of attire
18:54the post-match piece to camera laying out the challenge that big fashion swing in it yeah where
19:00you decide for whatever reason at a certain event soiree to like i'm gonna i'm gonna dress the
19:08bollocks for this if anything mike bailey's non-uniform day yeah yeah yeah then you go
19:11and it's just like what the hell are you doing the instant walk back to that kind of thing it's
19:15got it wrong when you can see someone getting it wrong like the irony of like are they all dressed
19:20up it's like no overdressed if anything it wasn't a great night for mike bailey so tony khan
19:25it's always funny when the walk back happens yeah as a booker it's thought well you know how mike
19:30bailey has great nights badass great action here's your great action that's that's the wrestling
19:36bookers instinct right fix that uh don't uh what i like hide the negatives like highlight the positives
19:41that's what's happening here definitionally mike bailey's positives are great matches yeah we're
19:46gonna get one but wrestling fan brain says this is a 52 week a year show and you're giving it
19:51seven
19:52days and knocking on the end it doesn't bode well for mike bailey should kevin knight win and we assume
19:58you will the thing is it's like i don't want to be guilty of aw i've made this point and
20:04i'll continue
20:04to make it almost too good at booking tony khan where he's able to feature wrestlers in great matches
20:13that flatter them and you just think well give them the world title and then you know there's too many
20:19in
20:19can't all have it even if it doesn't bode well for mike bailey that he is at this point being
20:25used
20:25as a vehicle to um get kevin knight over i think it's been revealed that speedball mike bailey's
20:35ceiling is mid-card banger practitioner like people really love them there is a connection there but will
20:43ball made a really good point when he was discussing the merits of kenny omega versus will osprey versus
20:50mjf versus will osprey and you know what will born's like and he can be a little bit facetious
20:55but he made a good point it's like kenny omega's promo form this year has been subpar
20:59can you imagine him talking people into wembley stadium it's just probably not going to happen
21:04um yeah great come if you like don't if you don't want to it's your choice it's your choice it's
21:10your
21:10choice i don't even know if i'll be in any condition to perform really tickets cost a lot
21:14anymore and what about that british weather
21:18that's kind of what it's like not really this is a gross exaggeration and simplification but you
21:23know what i mean i think speedball mike bailey simply doesn't have i find them quite uh them quite
21:29charming yeah you know i really do but not as a oh my god i will run through a brick
21:36wall for mike
21:37bailey yeah it's like ah i believe them kevin knight's not quite the same thing is the prospect
21:43as well you don't do the i mean you could you don't do the turn to lose the first big
21:48match
21:48it's not it's not like a push killer it does a big turn on darby allen losing creates other problems
21:56even though again tnt title almost like there has been so many examples in awd this year where a
22:03mid-card title is on the line right that one might be in line for a push they need to
22:06lose they need to
22:07lose this piece of tin they've got over the shoulder yeah so you can go it's it's funny how
22:10that works in reverse but kevin knight should win here right absolutely and you know like this is the
22:14it's kind of an ideal opportunity to further the heel character because at this point i haven't seen him
22:20cheat in march in like the middle of a match like that'd be your first sort of ah he's resorted
22:25to that
22:25yeah i mean he doesn't work but can we talk can we go back to mj for a second as
22:30relates to uh
22:31when blight as it pertains to wembley stadium um people hopefully by now will have watched the
22:37q a that we put out yesterday um if not go and check it out where we have a good
22:42healthy debate
22:43about our different opinions on what the wembley main event could and should be based on aw's teasing
22:48at this point of osprey and omega and the fact that mjf the world champion and rematch versus dream
22:53match and all all the rest of it phil and i aggregated some pretty powerful remarks from mick
23:00foley on the news this morning that for the first time ever have made real in like a much warmer
23:06way
23:06than a couple of years ago the prospect of a genuine dream match mick foley return kind of like the
23:12one
23:12the one that you would never see coming you know like tony khan's handling the legends has kind of
23:16been impeccable mick foley is already speaking very graciously about what aw could and would do
23:20he's lost a hundred pounds like he looked and felt great you know like in his brain though well head
23:26stuff can't happen obviously and then you make allowances for that um mjf and mick foley at wendley
23:36it's kind of badass and it does then free the way doesn't it exploding barbed wire death if you like
23:41and i know you like and i know mick foley would like because the cool thing about mick foley and
23:45talking about a return is that everybody wants to like put an arm around his shoulder and say don't
23:49kill yourself and then in that arm in that hand is a knife stabbing it in his back soon but
23:55kill
23:56yourself and mick foley knows that i'm quite sure there was a better way of putting that maybe but
24:00like not literally kill yourself mick but like you'd enable him pride me would enable we would and he's
24:06his personal pride and what he feels like he would want to deliver tut on one side of the mouth
24:10and on
24:10the other you're saying can i buy the pay-per-view please one pay-per-view please like i like
24:18that guy
24:19thank you i mean this guy like good guy i want more of his takes at the old box office
24:26he's got
24:26like one side of his mouth it's like uh he's got a little devil down a little angel there oh
24:30what's
24:30going on devil mouth guy buying tickets i don't know um what do you think of our new friend uh

24:36devil mouth guy let us know so yeah we've we've heard from angel devil mouth guy on rick foley's
24:42return but mjf like he would be licking his lips at the prospect of that you would you know you'd
24:49see
24:49the glint in his eye as he's working the match knocking mick foley about at wembley stadium like
24:56foley loves that sort of thing has like the possible mjf match that isn't this world title
25:01falling into aws well there's two as well like other people before me have pointed out
25:08it was you in fact hangman can cost mjf and then that leads to an exploding barbed wire death match
25:13of course gotta happen um all in at wembley stadium look they need a draw yeah the rubber match for
25:22the uh the work rate trilogy of the decade yeah you could argue osprey omega there's loads of
25:29competition but you know um i think i still think that's more a draw than people give me credit for
25:34within aw's core fan base that haven't bought tickets yeah i'm not saying it's the pro wrestling
25:39typical stadium no no i'm coming around your way of thinking i just think again my position is
25:44well listen to the q a and you'll get my position um should we move on yeah on the subject
25:48of uh the
25:49core blimey blimey himself will osprey he has got a business to attend to tonight that being the
25:55owen hart tournament men's semi-final in which he is going to presumably um get revenge on mark davis
26:03who had won their previous meeting by a referee star page and when he given that sort of what's
26:10that what does he call his finish i can't remember either way that disgusting apron pile driver and
26:16osprey was medically unable to continue it's one of those where we were so excited about this match
26:20that we've basically fantasy booked the obvious spot that they need to do the count out tease when
26:25he does it again yeah osprey threw out that kind of pot is the one thing that we can't let
26:31happen
26:32is i kind of do that again otherwise i'm out of the match so the idea of them teasing it
26:37and pushing
26:38off the pile driver trying to do a hidden blade yeah mark davis ducks the hidden blade attempt grabs
26:45them because he's so massive and strong that he can just sort of basically grapple will osprey like
26:50he's a little teddy bear and then no no i can't take that move i can't take that move well
26:54tough
26:54titties pal i mean that's cockney isn't it how would i say tough titties pal in australian it's tricky
27:01yeah you have to have a tough titties buddy cockney accent then squint a bit and it seems to change
27:06the
27:06voice in a tough titties tough titties buddy buddy my tough titties mate there you go uh yeah and then
27:15like will osprey one of the very best wrestlers in that new japan resurgence era knows his way around
27:22a count out tease this cannot be anything less than incredible and very dramatic now he has to win this
27:28one and he's going to win this one but i've got a little bit more faith in osprey given like
27:34the
27:34story that they've told leading into the match and it's just generational ability to appear like
27:39he's dead yeah to like sort of cast real doubt over the outcome but will osprey for you i think
27:45so um
27:47osprey is the safest bet in all of wrestling in every respect and this i've said this before

28:09forever he will win the world title he'll probably win it well he'll definitely win at wembley stadium
28:12and then it's like becomes a defending champion and we have new conversations about what will osprey
28:16does so i'm loving this uh i didn't love what was the tv match that we're a little bit i

28:22know the joe match was great but like what was the tv match where he was death rider he will
28:26and it
28:26it didn't quite it's austin it wasn't wasn't quite right but i for everything you've just described
28:32basically i don't fear this one in the same way like he can absolutely do death rider will osprey

29:44neck bridges um helping his neck is sort of the key thread and one of the reasons why osprey is

29:54stronger and i came back too early but with the tutelage of the death riders my neck feels a bit

34:16i was gonna i wondered if this had been constructed around the idea that you create it because no
34:20because windsor it's tricky now because like if you bring somebody into surprise and winds just wins
34:26then you kind of get pelt us for the surprise being a bit of a letdown because it means you're
34:29brought in somebody that's beatable like i'm not this is not to bury anybody right this is not
34:34like but let's say it was anna j just for argument's sake right just our wrestler on the roster
34:38it's like it's anna j everybody and then winds just wins it's like well you kind of made
34:42everyone look terrible there no but nobody's gotten over out of that like windsor looks like she's
34:46had an easy night i feel like if it was just a run-of-the-mill member of the regular
34:50roster
34:51it would be like really cruel to present them as a wild card because the whole point of a wild
34:55card
34:56is it's meant to spark your imagination so yeah it's you can't really do that be kind of careful with

35:01yeah um meanwhile if the person's coming back as a wild card then realistically they they don't have
35:07to win but it's ideal that they win um which means alex windsor's doing the job it's fine because
35:12brawling birds are probably going to be like going for tag belts at wembley anyway but then
35:16that wrestler holds a win over alex windsor who at the moment is quite a prominent woman in this
35:20division so that's that's a way to get this wrestler off from running it's um you you know you create
35:26expectation with this yeah it's i it's reasonable if this is a bit like yeah it's reasonable to be
35:33critical of that because this promotion promises the opposite doesn't it yeah you're supposed to sit up and
35:37take notice of like the big name like the ones that we're going to speculate on like some of them
35:41might seem big names or outlandish whatever but that is sort of the point of this kind of promotion
35:46yeah it's one of those where look they are telling you to dream big speculate fantasy book
35:54but at the same time if they pulled some deal to like really sort of like make sure the schedules

36:02to get like i know the hottest stardom wrestler there is there would have been a wild card to
36:07begin with this is like a replacement tony karn's got a bit of a checkered past with that as well
36:12because he'll do that and he in his head he's like i know this wrestler so my fans will and
36:17anyone on tv
36:17that doesn't don't worry because right as they're entering the ring to not really much of a pop
36:21excalibur's going to do a big explainer i can hear it one of the biggest stars in stardom but it's

36:25this wasn't kind of what people were after it yeah and it's not it's it's done with good intentions
36:30but it falls short when you're actually watching it as an experience it is so it's one of those
36:35where if even if the hottest most glamorous international critical darling you'd think
36:42that they're not just going to be a make good for a two-week sort of announcement yeah so we've

38:52day return to aew and at this point as well when this sort of the cm punk thing was different

38:58the whole speculation in 2023 was well your luxury they do not need him at all they do not need
39:04him as
39:05it happens they kind of need him now but in late 2023 you enjoyed that period of wwe correct it's
39:09quite good yeah solid solid solid fed they didn't need him but they uh it was good for the speculation
39:16of like well they don't have to take the chance yeah that makes me want to see more or whatever
39:21typically when a wrestler brings back a promoter brings back a wrestler who they know can be
39:27unprofessional or is not necessarily well liked in the locker room it's because ah i'm going against a
39:33better judgment here because i need that person and i'm going to put the cat amongst the pigeons
39:38because i either i piss everybody off or i draw some money and interest if tony khan cares about the
39:45women's division and i don't think he does but if he did it ain't it's like it ain't great it

39:52great right now it's one of those where you would quite reasonably believe that if he was ever going to
39:59press the brit baker button it would be now because he hasn't got many other options of stars in this
40:05division and it feels way less of a concern or acclaimed or big as it did this time last year
40:11now would be the time for brit baker but i still can't see it uh no i i don't see
