01:09E o Jair, e o Jair, o Jair, o Jair, o Jair, o Jair, o Jair, o Jair, o Jair.
01:10A important moment for Joe.
01:12He's going to have to get around his teammates and Casey Cochran because, you know,
01:16Joe was actually the fastest rider in that first moto.
01:19But unfortunately for him, Cole then was out front.
01:22So you can see Cole starting to get away.
01:24We know how strong Joe is, but he can't give my gap to No. 37.
01:28So let's see what he can do these early laps.
01:30It's Romano, that first Kawasaki.
01:32You see, where is Kitchen 13th place?

04:19mas o riqueza tinha visto que come around a lot,
05:14Só mmame ver없ena e go.
05:18O que ele aproxima citando,
05:20ele sabe que eleะstibly estava com que queira isto?
05:25A lot of damage in about two laps.
05:28Yeah, that's a great move.
05:30Some moves by Levi.
05:31He's outside the top 10 from what we've seen.
05:33We didn't see him up there, but he's running the same lap times.
05:37He's the only other guy in the 215s along with Cole Davies.
05:41So he's making his way up through the pack with that speed.
05:46Shimoda in the top box putting pressure on Cochran.
05:51Yeah, when you look at it, he's on the same straightaway as Joe.
05:56And Casey for second place.
05:57So, man, Levi's rolling.
05:59These are the types of motos we saw from him early in the season.
06:02Yeah, absolutely.
06:03I mean, and he kind of needed that.
06:05I mean, I know that first moto was from Levi Sanders.
06:08And so he lost the points lead, unfortunately.
06:11Ah, Julian down again.
06:13Another, man, beginning of the moto.
06:16This one looks like it might hurt a little bit more than another one.
06:19He's a little slower to get going.
06:21One of the riders that was right there in the thick of it
06:23for the championship at the beginning of the day.
06:26Volmeyer and the Red Bull KTM.
06:29These battles are closing on each other.
06:32DeFrancisco and Kitchin at the bottom.
06:35Yeah, you can tell Joe, he banked into that corner.
06:38He knew early on that he didn't have enough speed.
06:40So he wasn't leaning off the back of the motorcycle.
06:42He kind of gave up.
06:44But, man, just like that first moto, Casey got a good pace.
06:49Joe might be a little bit faster.
06:50But Casey's not holding these guys off.
06:52But the problem is that number 37 is gone.
06:56Wow, almost six seconds for Davies.
07:02As he said, Cochran is not holding Shimoda up.
07:05He is absolutely holding his own.
07:09And, again, I don't believe he has a deal for next year.
07:12He's showing what he's capable of.
07:14As for the first moto one or up, Dudney.
07:19He's going to replay here.
07:21He's on that Yamaha blue.
07:23Yeah, and what you can see right there, he started getting off balance.
07:26And he tried his best to save it.
07:27But from this drone shot, you can't tell how deep those runs are.
07:30But going down that hill with those breaking bumps, a little off balance.
07:33And that's what happens.
07:35And that will push Dudley back to 12th after that runner-up ride in moto one,
07:40sixth overall at the moment.
07:44This is that same section that we just saw definitely go down.
07:50Yeah, you cannot tell with the TV shot.
07:52How steep that hill is.
07:54We've seen lots of riders go down through there.
07:57Man, rider DiFrancisco is all over Shimoda now.
08:00He's in the Husqvarna sandwich.
08:03Yeah, and just like that first moto, it seems like these guys really bunch up.
08:07When you get stuck behind a guy in front of him, it depends on where you catch him at.
08:11If you catch him in the early part of the track with these 180s,
08:14it really kind of slows these guys down, which allows everyone else to bunch you up.
08:17But you can get around them.
08:19You can have a gap like Cole Davies.
08:21And we saw that same thing transpire in the first moto.
08:24But unfortunately for Joe, he's still stuck behind a good ride in case of Cochran here in the second moto.
08:35All right, what's the next move here?
08:37In kitchen, get DiFrancisco.
08:39Can DiFrancisco get to Shimoda?
08:41Shimoda, you know what he wants.
08:43Get around Cochran and go after the lead.
08:47Yeah, from what I've seen, the first moto, if I'm Levi, I'm going to have to get around.
08:52I will try to get around these guys before Joe gets around Casey because Joe had a good pace that
08:57first moto.
08:58And I kind of saw him run away from me.
09:00So all day, Joe's been a little bit better as far as in these photos.
09:04But Levi, I need to make that point up.
09:07See the overall points there in the lower left right now in the Davies, Shimoda.
09:12And Cochran would be on the podium with a little bit of room to spare.
09:15That would be massive for him.
09:18But he's got a fight on his hands.
09:19Shimoda's close now.
09:26Yeah, here we go.
09:27This is an opportunity.
09:29Joe's probably going to try to stay with him.
09:32I think he'll be able to pass him here unless Casey misses his double.
09:36Casey goes outside.
09:37He should be able to get it.
09:39But another opportunity here where God has to pick a line.
09:44So if Joe can just stay close to him, he might have the opportunity in this next corner
09:47or going down the hill.
09:48But he's got to be right on Casey.
09:52Here we go.
09:53Oh, Casey kind of fooled him there.
09:55He thought he was going to go to the inside.
09:57Casey goes outside and kind of messes Joe's plane up.
10:00But he still might have that opportunity.
10:01He's going to be on the outside here.
10:04Cochran fighting for it.
10:06Doesn't want to give it to him, but Shimoda has it.
10:08Yeah, Joe says, chest not checkered, son.
10:10Back at you.
10:11And now DeFrancisco looking to get his young teammate.
10:15Got him.
10:16Yeah, great move.
10:18Casey was kind of bundled by what happened with Joe getting around him.
10:23And his teammate got him slid up underneath him.
10:25Now he's going to have number 47 to deal with as well.
10:30Big moment in this race.
10:32Did Kitchin go with Shimoda?
10:34Can he make a run?
10:35He's working the insides on Cochran.
10:40No, Cochran fights it back.
10:46Crisscross lines there.
10:48Into the sand.
10:51Yeah, Casey.
10:53Rod good, man.
10:55This is what you got to do.
10:56You got to try to slow that momentum up.
10:59Get the guy off rhythm.
11:00Because clearly he's a little bit faster than you.
11:02But if you can get that momentum and that rhythm off, you can beat anybody.
11:06Anybody really charged on the outside.
11:08Now you should have it.
11:09Casey's stuck on the inside.
11:11Really nothing you can do from that.
11:13Good pass by Levi.
11:14Not following.
11:15Charging in that run.
11:16That line.
11:17And go for fourth place.
11:25Last time around, Shimoda and Davies, the leader.
11:28Identical lap times.
11:302.16.9 for both.
11:32Best times of the race.
11:33Kitchin has that fast time, as we mentioned.
11:36But he's got to make up more ground than just that.
11:38Yeah, and that fast time, Levi was the fastest guy on the racetrack.
11:42His last lap, so it showed you how much speed he has, even trying to make passes, going in different
11:48lines.
11:49He's still able to run the same pace as Cole Davies and everybody in front of him, but
11:54it's hard to make those moves here on this racetrack.
12:02De Francesco trying to hang in there.
12:04He's fifth in points.
12:07He's been good this year.
12:14He's been pretty comfortable on that bike all day with no changes, but I was talking to his team
12:18about his development this season, and they told me that we're all now starting to see
12:22what he's really made of, why he was so good at amateurs, going 6 for 6 at Loretta's, and
12:27basically a household name these last couple of years.
12:30We haven't really seen that rider that he knew he was capable of being.
12:34And now today, in the season, we'll see him in the middle of that.
12:39Yeah, Katie, De Francesco, absolutely one of the most hyped and successful amateur racers
12:44getting back to 3, 4, 5 years old on a 50cc bike all the way through.
12:51It certainly hasn't been bad, his career as a pro.
12:55It's just not quite been that podium threat to race win level, at least not yet.
13:01Looking for the Bodo podium right now, and it would be third overall.
13:06JT.
13:07Well, just to back up your point, remember, this rider V was the rider that everyone was
13:12asking Hayden Deacon if he could go up and battle with.
13:15Yeah.
13:15That was the bar for everyone to try to attain.
13:19So it just speaks to the talent that he has and is starting to show once again.
13:25And I think that's why he has these rides.
13:27There's a lot of teams that still believe, including this one, they can get the most out
13:32of him.
13:32And that's why, even with Rockstar Husky going away next year, I believe they're going
13:36to keep him in the fold, just move him over to the KTM side of that business.
13:41Yeah, I agree.
13:42I mean, once these guys are moving up like Hayden Deacon, and then it's rider D's, that
13:48next guy that could possibly be here winning a championship like what we see with Cole Davies.
13:53He's got to continue to build a couple of other battles.
13:55We're checking it on.
13:56I believe that's Dudney Romano in this battle.
14:03Dudney.
14:04Okay.
14:04So that is Romano and Thrasher right around the top 10.
14:08And Dudney in 12th, the man who was second to the first moto.
14:12There he is.
14:13Yeah.
14:13You got Muneer and Abe, Thrasher, Bozeman, and then Romano right there.
14:17So all these guys.
14:21We had to thank Bobby Regan and everybody to start racing for making these races interesting.
14:24They drop five, six fast riders into the class every weekend, and you get good battles like
14:30this.
14:30Yeah.
14:30And they have another one in the next program.
14:32Oh, yeah.
14:33They have one as well.
14:34So, yeah, it's there.
14:36And I think that's where we went back earlier to the first moto, just the pressure on all
14:40these guys.
14:41These 16-year-olds, worried about your job already.
14:45He ends up getting up the inside of Nick.
14:49Yeah, so Dudney made a move.
14:52This is Benick on the White House Guard.
14:54I'm trying to get by as well.
15:00Battles, they keep coming.
15:02He's got another one behind him.
15:04Dino.
15:06Yeah.
15:07Well, this is why we mentioned how important the starts are.
15:10Because you go back, this is 12th, 13th, 14th place.
15:14You're watching Dino's 14th on the trial.
15:18There's battles back there.
15:19No, it's battle.
15:20I mean, the thing is with Nick, he's got to be robbed just as hard as he was out front
15:24with these guys in it.
15:26And the results, they don't feel good because you're going the opposite way.
15:30So just how deep this build is.
15:33But, yeah, it only makes you better in long run.
15:37Bottom Box's Kitchen.
15:40Trying to close back in on DeFrancisco.
15:44Yeah, Joe's starting to creep away a little bit.
15:47But Kitchen lost a lot of time in that lap.
15:49He was able to get around up into Casey Cochran.
15:52He lost that lap, lost a lot of time doing that.
15:55And now he's just trying to do his best to close that gap back up.
15:58But as we've seen all day long, closing in and passing guys two different things,
16:02we'll figure it out, Katie.
16:03Now, the recent pit board for Levi Kitchen was don't settle, turn it loose.
16:09The team would say that he's learning, maturing, and he's starting to not panic during these
16:13motos.
16:13And all of these are building blocks to make him a champion.
16:16He still has that red plate as of today.
16:23It might be a matter of if he does give up that red plate, how many points behind will he
16:29be?
16:29Well, halfway through the moto or a reminder of stock up on Monster Energy.
16:34Nice try from Kitchen, but couldn't get the double, couldn't get to third.
16:38Yeah, he went a little test.
16:40He knew he couldn't make that pass.
16:41But, yeah, speaking of the red plate, right now Cole Davies would have the red plate.
16:45So, weird to come to a race that it changed his hands three times.
16:49You know, Levi shows up, and it was Joe after the first moto.
16:52Now it possibly could be Cole Davies after this moto grabbing that thing.
16:59JT.
17:00Well, Kitchen desperately needs to get around Ryder D and make up those points.
17:04And I just felt like we were kind of due for one of these days.
17:07And I guess if it was, you know, a golf tournament, it would be like moving day,
17:10where we were going to establish some real trends.
17:13And I think so far we have.
17:14You know, Bomer really going to lose out on the points today,
17:17going to kind of fall out of that picture.
17:19Davies may take the red plate and start to establish himself as the guy.
17:23But it seems like a very pivotal day here unfolding championship-wise.
17:28Yeah, I agree with that, JT.
17:30And especially that first moto.
17:33I mean, although he rode good, he rode good at high point when you look at the finishes.
17:36But just considering how he rode those first few races, it was always, man, Levi's past Scott.
17:42He just didn't go down.
17:43He probably wins his race to where he almost got three now in the fourth moto where it's good,
17:49but it's just there.
17:51And that's been ever since he's taken over that red plate.
17:53So for him, I know that consistency just staying up, that eventually hopefully it pays off.
17:59But you can't continue consistently getting beat by the guys behind you,
18:03especially when you've got Cole Davies and Joe Shimoto, who are champions before.
18:07We have that experience in trying to get to the level you're trying to be at right now or get
18:11to as well.
18:11Yeah, and as we're starting to see, it often happens with the trend JT's talking about.
18:15You're not getting the massive variance in results between these contenders.
18:20Shimoto and Davies have been around those podium spots pretty much every time out lately.
18:26So Kitchens got to rally and get there himself.
18:28Well, I believe this is for the overall podium as well.
18:36Moto podium and overall podium would flip the same way.
18:40Guy Francesco would have his first podium if he could hold on.
18:45You're right.
18:46Now Levi's on the outside opposite where he was earlier.
18:50Whoa.
18:51Good move by Ryder.
18:53That was actually a good move.
18:55Got to commit to it.
18:56I think he was like, oh, wow, that worked.
18:58But what he was trying to do is keep Levi from hitting that double but ended up getting passed anyway.
19:03All right.
19:04So Kitchens now locks down third of the Moto, third overall.
19:11Hey, elevate your SMX race day with a truly immersive fan experience designed to put you closer to the action

19:42That's SMXexperiences.com.
19:45Going to be a tail of the stopwatch now.
19:48This kitchen.
19:50Have enough time and speed to try to catch Shimoda.
19:53And late in the race, it is hard to do better than the rider out of Suzuka, Japan.
19:59Shimoda is tough late in the races.
20:02Yeah, I think the question is more about can Joe catch Cole Davies out front.
20:07Because Joe's coming last lap a little bit faster.
20:11And we know with the lap riders, that's going to, Cole gets caught up.
20:15Joe can be on that same straightaway.
20:17This race might not be over with 10-plus minutes left.
20:22All right, so then let's check in with Davies.
20:24I don't want to overhype, you know, a single moto before the halfway mark of the season.
20:30But Shimoda just closed it down again.
20:33It's down to 4.8.
20:36This would be about as massive as a midseason moto could be if Shimoda could run Davies down.
20:43Yeah, I agree with that.
20:45And not like you said, for points, but really mentality at this point.
20:50I mean, Cole Davies has been winning these, say, these last couple of motos.
20:54And he's somewhat.
20:55I know it's not hard.
20:56But Joe's able to stabilize that and close in on Cole.
21:00Then it lets him know that, hey, you know what, I'm good.
21:03But Joe Shimoda is here as well.
21:05So he's got to keep that going up.
21:06JT.
21:08Well, Weech, I'm going to ask you this because, you know, we spend a lot of time talking amongst all
21:12the analysts.
21:13You know, like Adam Cicirillo on our Monterey Supercross broadcast team.
21:17What do they all say about Joe Shimoda?
21:19Like, what's the number one comment they all talk about with Joe Shimoda?
21:23It's his fitness.
21:24It's his endurance.
21:25It's unrelenting at the end of these races.
21:28And at the same time, Weech, what's the number one question that we've been posing about Cole Davies?
21:33On the hot days, how is he going to be able to handle it coming from New Zealand, not having
21:38the experience in it?
21:39So we're going to watch it unfold right in front of us.
21:41But it's two completely different dynamics right there.
21:44Yeah, that might be the last test left for Davies.
21:46The heat and humidity.
21:47Can he pass it?
21:48Meanwhile, that box on the bottom, I think Kitchen went down.
21:52And how many positions did he lose or did he lose any?
21:55We'll get that figured out in a moment.
21:57The next time I'm going to hit one of the timing splits.
22:00Okay, we got the crash.
22:01Yeah, you can see.
22:02I'm not sure exactly what happened, but I know it goes off the racetrack.
22:08He gets into that soft stuff, goes down.
22:10But if you look at the back end of his motorcycle, I don't know if it's just the way the...
22:16Oh, yeah, he's in the background.
22:18He got stuck in the mud.
22:19It goes off the racetrack.
22:20They had to push the mud somewhere.
22:22If you look at the vent there, it's all pointed down.
22:24And if there's an issue with the bike, I'll be about it.
22:27Definitely not his back up the pace, for sure.
22:29Well, two things to update you.
22:30A, DiFrancisco did get back around Kitchen.
22:33That would put DiFrancisco back on the overall podium today.
22:37Second, Shimoda has now cut the gap nearly in half to Davies.
22:41And with this pace, there's plenty of time.
22:44Seven minutes and two laps.
22:46He can get there.
22:50Yeah, Joe.
22:51Joe's got him.
22:52Now he can see him.
22:54Could be huge for him.
22:59Well, JT, I'll swing it back to you.
23:01You're the one out there.
23:02James and I get to hang out in the air conditioning.
23:04Katie gets to hang out in the ice bath.
23:06How hot is it out there right now?
23:08It's pretty warm.
23:10I don't know if we have Wasabi Joe yet, but it feels like Wasabi Joe out here.
23:14Okay.
23:14It's cooking, so I can promise you that whether or not Davies can hold on, he's feeling it at the
23:19moment.
23:20Because I'm feeling it, and I'm sitting under a tent.
23:22Yeah, I talked to Davies about this earlier in the year, and he admits New Zealand does not get that
23:26hot.
23:27It's actually fairly close, believe it or not, folks, to the South Pole.
23:31Shimoda taking a handoff there in midair.
23:33And, yes, this is absolutely the wheelhouse of Shimoda.
23:36The hot and humid days late in the second moto.
23:39The roughest track is of the day.
23:41That's where he does his best work, and he now has Davies in sight.
23:44Yeah, and a part of this is just momentum.
23:47We saw New York Knicks.
23:49What happened in the playoffs?
23:51That was beautiful.
23:52Yeah, congrats, by the way.
23:53They get in a role, and so, yeah, it could be fitness and whatnot.
23:57But when you've got to start believing and getting this momentum, man, it's going to be hard to hold him
24:01off.
24:01And I think Cole understands that he needs to start playing it for a battle.
24:06Like, Joe's not going anywhere.
24:07So, even though he doesn't need the win for the overall, I think it's bigger than that.
24:12Joe's coming.
24:14Yeah, I cannot see what we're talking about.
24:16There's no way Davies is going to be like, hey, you can have the overall, or you can have the
24:20position.
24:21I'm still going to win the overall.
24:22There's no way he wants to win this one, but it's going to be tough, because Shimoda is there.
24:27Yeah, it is wasabi time.
24:29Oh, almost got two spikes here.
24:32Sideways, it almost went down.
24:35Yeah, and that little mistake caused him not to make that pass.
24:39If he had been close, he would have got it, but...
24:44Shimoda on the inside!
24:48Yeah, yeah, Cole knows at this point.
24:53Joe's here.
24:55Davies will win the overall, even if he gets passed, but the red plate, the point lead, it comes down
25:01to this.
25:02Shimoda would have the points lead if he could take this photo win away.
25:06But we're all saying it, momentum in the championship, confidence, all that might be bigger than any of the numbers.
25:17Yeah, this is a great battle.
25:18Joe just got to stay with him.
25:20I feel like he has.
25:22I mean, look how much...
25:23How quick he caught and pulled.
25:26But Cole's a smart rider.
25:27He went through this in Supercross.
25:28It's gotten better.
25:29Joe just leans it in that corner.
25:33Joe's been a little bit quicker on this side of the racetrack, especially going down these hills.
25:37He's making small mistakes there, but going to clear his lap riders.
25:40They should still be close to...
25:43Cole coming out here.
25:44Look how tractor is.
25:45This tractor...
25:52Joe's got right to him now.
25:55Little mistake for Davies.
25:56Foot off the pegs.
25:59Recovers.
26:01Side by side down the hill.
26:10Good ride here.
26:11Oh, beautiful move by Shimoda.
26:15Does he have it?
26:20He does.
26:32Oh, the fans saluting Joe in that effort.
26:36Yeah, you see Cole Davies take a look back.
26:38So that, to me, right now, now he's going to most likely mentally settle for second place
26:44unless Joe gives him an opportunity by not pulling away.
26:47Joe pulls away for this next lap.
26:49Cole has continued to just get this overall victory and fight next weekend.
26:55And that would put Shimoda into the point lead and carry the red plate into Southwick.
27:00Second overall, if he wins this moto.
27:03But we said it over and over again.
27:05The four straight moto wins for Davies would have been huge.
27:09Shimoda doing all he can to stop it.
27:11Katie.
27:12And Joe trying to get his first moto win since Unadilla 2025.
27:16Ben Griffin right now on the board has eyes forward.
27:19That moto one, remember, he was looking around quite a bit.
27:21They're reminding him to keep your eyes forward to get this finish.
27:24Well, he better read it again because he's looking over on the finish line, Joe.
27:29Just like moto one and avoiding lap traffic, he's down.
27:33Yeah, I think he was looking back to see where Cole, he pulled a huge gap.
27:36But he doesn't have to look.
27:37I mean, that's pretty simple.
27:38You just look at his teammate.
27:39What happened at the first moto in that 450 flat.
27:42Right.
27:42The lap lap.
27:45Yeah, but Joe, he's in the rhythm.
27:48This is what you call in the zone.
27:49He's in the zone.
27:51And what you see is, he can make a mistake.
27:53He'll take lines, pop out a run, and he'll still continue moving forward.
27:57Like, it doesn't bother him because everything slowed down for him.
28:00He sees the track.
28:01And right now, he sees that red plate.
28:03Might be on that number 30 on the way to another moto win.
28:08First this year.
28:10You love to see a rider when he's in that spot.
28:12I always call it meant to do that.
28:13You see a mistake come in, and the next thing you know, it's like,
28:15oh, that actually worked out just like you planned it.
28:18And he is loose on the motorcycle right now.
28:21And I guess the final watch will be, Davies dropped all the way down to a 2.24 lap.
28:26He still had a big gap over Di Francisco.
28:30And there's not much time left.
28:33Got to figure he's managing that gap.
28:37But, uh, rider D was four seconds quicker last time around.
28:40Yeah, I think Cole probably just got shocked at what happened with Joe.
28:43So I don't think, I'll be surprised if rider D catches up.
28:47Rodney's riding good.
28:48But Cole would really have to fall off the pace.
28:49And to me, it just seems like he realized that Joe's gone.
28:52Yep.
28:52And he slowed down, not realizing how much he slowed down.
28:55And he's going to get the overall.
28:57Yeah, anyway, you get the overall and just fight for the, uh, next weekend.
29:02All right, so let's talk about this.
29:05Davies, now it looks like, won't get the four moto wins in a row.
29:08How does that change the paradigm for Shimoda to take it this moto win away
29:12when it looked like it was all shifting Davies' direction?
29:15Yeah, I think what it does, I don't know how much it changed for Joe.
29:19I mean, yes, it's get a moto victory.
29:21It'd be a huge form for confidence, but I expect this from Joe, you know,
29:26and especially a track that he went 1-1 last year and had some success on.
29:29And this isn't surprising.
29:31But what it does is it just makes Cole Davies have to be like,
29:34all right, like, I'm there, but I'm not all the way there.
29:38Joe really stopped that point.
29:40So I think it's a bigger momentum stoppage from Joe winning this moto
29:45than, you know, really when it comes down to points with Cole Davies.
29:48Yeah, because you always said Joe's kind of going to give you Joe no matter what.
29:51He doesn't get affected by those swings as much.
29:53Yeah, like, for instance, let's just say Joe, you switch Joe out for Levi Kitchen,
29:57and Levi did the same thing.
29:59Joe, I would have a whole different take on this championship,
30:01but I expect this from Joe.
30:03Every router out there expects this from Joe.
30:06But momentum-wise, you kind of know what you're getting with him.
30:09And I do feel like if he continued getting these starts because of the way he's able to beat Cole
30:15and he's only gotten better so far, it really puts him in, okay, a championship threat,
30:20meaning I can beat these guys at the end of the moto.
30:22If I get my starts, I have the pace to go to run them.
30:24I have the fitness.
30:25And that's where it changes a little bit for Joe Samoto.
30:30It's a pretty big deal for Joe to get that moto win,
30:32still taking the handoff of the bar on that uphill triple.
30:37But you saw it was a little emotional getting that first overall win of the year
30:41at Colorado.
30:42didn't get a moto win that day,
30:44but that was the first win since the neck injury in the offseason.
30:48And the first moto win would be big.
30:51That track is so tough right now.
30:53Watch this corner.
30:53They don't like the Honda so far today.
30:56Yeah, just watch this corner.
30:57But, yeah, just going back to your point with that overall,
31:00I think what Joe realized,
31:02because when we first interviewed him when he won the overall at Colorado,
31:06like he talked about, he was almost a little upset,
31:08like, I didn't ride that good.
31:09He was thinking about some of the negatives.
31:10And then he realized what he accomplished from the injuries,
31:13coming back, getting that overall.
31:14So that was more of an emotional victory to me.
31:18This was more of like, okay, I'm back, Joe Samoto.
31:21Like, I can run these guys down.
31:23So even though he was happy,
31:25this photo, even though he won't get the overall,
31:27would be a loss.
31:28This goes towards the championship.
31:30I believe Joe will believe now.
31:32It's a different type of win than he had in Colorado for sure.
31:37But for Shimoda, it will only be second overall
31:40because Davies, with the first moto win,
31:43is still looking at two overall wins in a row.
31:46But it was the difference between which broader would lead
31:49with the point lead.
31:50And now it will be Shimoda.
31:55Joe really taking in the sights here.
31:57And Redbutt still looking around.
32:00Yeah, when you talk about the, what, meant to do that,
32:04when the router's in the zone,
32:05you know, I believe all of his hands coming off.
32:07Unless he's got a little bit of arm pump,
32:09which he doesn't look like by the way he drives,
32:11this is when you're like, oh, man,
32:13like you almost crashed and we come in,
32:14you don't even remember it.
32:16So I bet he's looking around, not really thinking,
32:19because when we asked him a question between moto,
32:21he's like, yeah, I don't know what I was doing.
32:23So that's a little bit of, he's just in zone.
32:26It's wasabi time.
32:27I'm going to assume you've had some amazing rides.
32:29You've had some motos like that where it's just rolling?
32:32Oh, you just black out.
32:33You're like, no, you remember I almost crashed and you're like,
32:35what, what are you talking about?
32:38Yeah, Levi Kitchen, trying to get back past Chance.
32:43Chance was able to get around him.
32:45And then Levi's now fighting back for fifth place.
32:49You know, it's still not the 1-1 Chance Hymus,
32:51but we saw him battling around top five at High Point.
32:54Top five right now, even if he gets past by Kitchen.
32:57Are you seeing something?
32:58Are you seeing progress at least?
33:00Yeah, considering what, you know, expectations coming into the season,
33:04considering how the seasons win, yeah, this is huge progress.
33:07And I think this is exactly what Chance, you know, needs.
33:10You know, you heard his family talk about the things that he needs to do.
33:13This is exactly that.
33:14So I think you've got to bring back the expectations of what we thought coming into the season
33:20and realize this is where he's at right now.
33:22So today would be a great day as he gets passed by Levi for fifth.
33:26Yeah, for sure.
33:26Coming into the year, thought that Hymus might be able to run with anyone,
33:29could even win races in the title.
33:31It was quickly apparent that he wasn't quite at that level,
33:34but this has been an improvement the last two races from a couple of rounds
33:37where he was just hanging on to the top 20.
33:40As for Kitchen, that was costly
33:45because who knows, had he kept it on two wheels,
33:48could he have made a run at Davies?
33:51But now he's back to fifth.
33:53It looks like he's closing in on Casey.
33:56Right in front of him.
34:04Ryder out of Washougal, Washington.
34:07But although Washougal is one of the least rutted tracks of a circuit,
34:11he actually likes the opposite.
34:12He likes these deep tracks.
34:13See what he does at Southwick next.
34:16And with the problems for Kitchen,
34:18it should be a well-deserved and hard-earned podium overall
34:23for Ryder DeFrancisco.
34:25And that will be his first pro motocross overall podium.
34:29He's done it in Supercross.
34:31He's bringing it home now.
34:32The Ryder out of California.
34:34Yeah, a great day for actually both him and Casey running in fourth place.
34:39But yeah, Ryder DeFrancisco definitely deserves this.
34:41He had to keep the pressure on Levi to make that mistake and capitalize.
34:45So coming from a year ago,
34:47getting his first ever pole position qualifying
34:50to now getting his first ever podium here at this racetrack.
34:53He loves here at Redmush.
34:56Well, we talked about a lot of different things.
34:58But the bottom line is one thing speaks louder than anything else.
35:01And the overall winner today at Redbutt is going to be Cole Davies.
35:05Maybe not the full 1-1 stamp that it looked like it was going to be.
35:09But bottom line is he'll be the first Ryder this year
35:11to get two overall victories this year.
35:14And it will be two in a row.
35:18And the championship focus begins to narrow.
35:20You had Hamaker going out with the injuries from high point.
35:25Gomer, a tough day.
35:26He's going to lose a ton of points.
35:28He's now down 35 in the series.
35:30But Shimoda and Davies have reason to be excited about how it went today.
35:39All right.
35:40I just didn't want to say anything until he got through that corner.
35:44Yeah, I agree with that.
35:46Joe's looking great.
35:48See if he can come back next week at Southwick.
35:52Carry this momentum in the second moto.
35:54Because he's been riding good all year.
35:56Long that first moto.
35:57We've seen him do that in the past.
35:59But I will say today, Joe has had the speed,
36:01which he found from practice.
36:03He was faster than that first moto.
36:05And I believe he's almost one of the fastest as far as one lap
36:10in the second moto right there with Cole Davies.
36:12So that's a good thing for Joe's motor to be able to find that speed
36:15after not having it in practice.
36:17And he's got to still figure out the start a little bit better
36:20and be up more front, especially if you get Cole Davies
36:23to continue to do the same.
36:24And with such a critical juncture in the championship,
36:26how close it is, we're going to add a little something to that
36:29with the Kunin twins coming back next weekend at Southwick.
36:32Remember, Sasha blew everybody's doors off
36:36in the second moto at Colorado.
36:38And he's great in sound.
36:40So he should be fast at Southwick.
36:42How will that affect things?
36:43Joe's still looking around.
36:45Well, the fans are going to salute you on the last lap.
36:47You might as well look at them.
36:49Well, here it is.
36:50It's not going to be the overall win.
36:51It'll be second today for Shimoda.
36:53But Red Bud Moto 2 goes to Joe Shimoda.
37:02And the fans are going to bring Davies home.
37:06Cole Davies wins Red Bud two in a row in 2026.
37:13Good job, Cole.
37:14Ryder D hanged on for third place.
37:17And Casey Cochran pulls off Levi.
37:22For Ford.
37:23Yeah, that's big.
37:24First ever, again, podium overall for DeFrancisco.
37:27And you got to give Cochran the most improved award.
37:30How much better he has been the last two races
37:33compared to the first two.
