01:01And Lawrence trying to sort out some lines here, battling Deegan as Prado begins to extend the gap.
01:06Yeah, remember when I talked about that first moto with Hayden, maybe one of the things that he might be
01:11lacking,
01:11because he wasn't up front, just the pace of the leader is right.
01:14And that goes for lines as well, as you can see Jorge Prado, you know, starting to pull away from
01:19Hayden.
01:19Oh, Deegan, how did he hold on to that?
01:22He didn't let off. That was a great save for him.
01:25Luckily, that Dunlop finally hooked up for him.
01:28But, yeah, I think with Hayden, Deegan, all the lines that he was running that first moto wasn't the fastest.
01:32He had to use the ones to pass, so it might take a lap or two for him to kind
01:35of figure out this pace.
01:38I believe he will by the ender moto.
01:46Well, these fans go wild.
01:51I mean, these are three riders, quite accomplished.
01:53Deegan, of course, a great 250 record.
01:55Prado has done it on both sides, bikes and MXGP.
01:59And, of course, Jet Lawrence, the defending champ.
02:01There is Hunter Lawrence, bottom box, trying to get around Webb and join that party.
02:05Right now, he is fifth.
02:07Yeah, Hunter was able to get around RJ.
02:09You can see how aggressive he is.
02:12Cooper is rotten good.
02:14Hunter has been faster all day, so he's going to make a critical pass to get around him.
02:17Oh, Jet Lawrence loses the back end.
02:20He's down.
02:22Tough spot.
02:23We saw Hayden Deegan almost lose the front end.
02:25And that sweeper, what Jet was trying to do was get out of the main line so he could square
02:31him up and cut underneath Deegan in his first corner and just lost the rear end.
02:34And he's battling Harrop.
02:36That is for 10th place.
02:39What a day today.
02:41Every time someone seems to have momentum, it blips.
02:52He's going to hit the brakes, so what he wants to do is try to stay on the inside because
02:57he wants to square Hayden up in that next corner.
03:00So he had to be on the inside of here to open that next corner up.
03:04He's going to slam on the brakes, try to get on the gas, and he hits that hard and shiny
03:07spot.
03:08Just lose the rear end.
03:09Simple fall but costly one considering now he's got a long ways to go up.
03:13His brother's in front of Jorge's out front.
03:16It's going to be a long motor for Jet Lawrence.
03:19Well, now the door is open.
03:20Prado yet to win a moto in Pro Motocross.
03:23Deegan yet to win a 450 moto.
03:24This could be the opportunity.
03:26That should be a knockdown, drag-out fight.
03:30And Prado, if it ends like this, right now would have the overall win.
03:36And he's stepping it up.
03:38Yeah, Jorge, even though he was 25 seconds down after that first moto, that's not the way he was riding.
03:44He actually stuck with those guys for a while, and he's starting to get away from Hayden Deegan.
03:49Hayden's going to, and he needs to because Hayden's going to take a couple laps to find that pace.
03:53These lines, as I mentioned earlier, that might be the opportunity for Jorge to get a gap.
03:58And we know what he does in the past.
04:00It's been a while, but we know what he can do out front.
04:02This guy's a different animal.
04:08JT.
04:09Well, just to kind of follow what James is saying about Prado, this is what he's done his entire career.
04:13He's so opportunistic at the front.
04:16Now, he would have looked around, kind of coming in opposite sections, seen Hayden Deegan in second,
04:20and he would have immediately looked for Hunter Lawrence and Jet Lawrence,
04:23knowing that they are their biggest threat he has to deal with.
04:26When he sees them several seconds back, he's going to throw everything at this right here.
04:31You saw him jumping bumps down the hill, really trying to put this racetrack together
04:34because he sends us an opportunity to sprint away, build a gap,
04:38and that could be all it takes for him to win this moto.
04:43Yeah, he looks really good.
04:45And the thing for Jorge, what you want to happen as he throws a little whip, you can tell him
04:49he's comfortable.
04:50He wants Hunter Lawrence to catch Hayden Deegan, and knows to start battling, opening that gap up even more.
04:55Because you know eventually Hunter's going to come and he continues that pace.
04:59We know Hayden Deegan and Jet Lawrence, as tough as this is, we've seen him do this last year,
05:04come up through the pack at this exact racetrack and win, so he can do it.
05:08Got to work to cut out, though.
05:09Yeah, Jet did fall.
05:10You're right.
05:11In a moto last year here, but this is a lot tougher to pass on.
05:15And he's conditioned, and he's down again.
05:18Oh, man, that's two.
05:19Now this one, now you've got to start thinking about championship.
05:24Easy fall to make.
05:25He was going in.
05:25I think he was a little maybe uncommitted on whether the guy in front of him was going to hit
05:29the brakes,
05:30but unless he goes down, now you've got to go big pitcher.
05:35Back to 11th goes Jet Lawrence.
05:41And as far as Prado leading this moto, you now go back to the last lap trouble for Hunter.
05:48Even if Hunter gets to second, he won't win the overall over Prado.
05:52He will have to get all the way to Prado to beat him for the overall.
05:56So that's what a difference maker that could be.
05:58And a long way to go for Lawrence to even get to Deegan, let alone Prado.
06:02Could be Jorge's day.
06:04Yeah, and I believe if Jorge is still able to stabilize his gap, keep pulling away these next couple laps,
06:10man,
06:10he's going to be hard to catch because now he's going to get comfortable.
06:14He knows that pace is fast enough.
06:16He's able to pull away from those guys.
06:17Then you start relaxing, trying to make sure you don't make any mistakes,
06:21which is going to make the guys behind you have to push and possibly do what Jet Lawrence did.
06:25Could be Jorge's day.
06:27But next couple laps are super important for Jorge.
06:32Super important for a lot of riders.
06:34Deegan sure would love to get that moto win.
06:36You know he doesn't want Hunter Lawrence to get to him.
06:38Hunter's got to dig.
06:39Points are on the line.
06:42Seven minutes are complete.
06:4423 plus two to go, and so much is going to happen.
06:48Jorge ran a 2.09.
06:50Wow.
06:51Hey, Deegan was 2.12.
06:53Here we go.
06:54Hunter Lawrence is 2.11.
06:55And then, as JT said, it's go time.
06:59And that's the Prado.

07:02One of the things I think is interesting is that Hayden Deegan has followed the Lawrence brothers a lot already
07:07this season.
07:08The team themselves saying that he's been learning how to ride the bike, what gears to be in,
07:12learning how to manage the race and when to push.
07:15But now being behind Prado, how much do you think he's actually learning something maybe a bit different
07:21than what he's learned from the Lawrence brothers?
07:24Well, Jorge's gone, so he can't really see him.
07:26At this point, he's got to deal with Hunter.
07:29I think it would be hard for Hayden to learn.
07:31I mean, obviously every time you go on a bike and race, you'll learn something, and he will.
07:35But he's struggled here in the past, so I don't think he feels that comfortable on the racetrack.
07:39He got a bad start.
07:40He went down in the first moto.
07:42So he was running different lines, and he would have been out front.
07:45So to me, it's what happens now moving forward, how much he's going to learn.
07:49I don't think he could learn that much because of the positions that he was in.
07:54But he can learn that 96 has been fast all day long.
07:57You've got to keep it going.
07:58Final box, Jett Lawrence, and a rematch against Karoli and Harrop, who he had battled before until the second crash.
08:06There he is trying to make the move on Tony.
08:10Got it.
08:12Tony's like, man, I'm too old for this.
08:14This is too hot out here.
08:15He's like, J.F., I'm old for this, baby.
08:19Jett Lawrence is understanding this is important.
08:21Move these positions up because you've got the championship to think about.
08:24He thought he was upset after that first moto.
08:26He thought he was really upset after this one.
08:28And he goes right by Harrop now, so that will move him well into the top ten.
08:33But look at that.
08:3432 seconds off the leader with two crashes.
08:38Hunter Lawrence starting to close on Deegan.
08:40And Deegan to look over his shoulder.
08:43Yeah, I like the fact that Hayden can jump the LaRocco's lead from the inside
08:47because it takes any opportunity for anybody to be able to pass him.
08:51And it's the shorter way around the racetrack.
08:53You see that gap you pulled on Hunter at that point.
08:57I didn't see.
08:58Did Hunter not jump it?
08:58No, Hunter jumped it.
08:59Oh, okay.
08:59He just went outside.

09:01And so Hayden cut off a lot of track and did it just as easy.
09:07Oh, Hayden was putting on a show for the fans yesterday.
09:10Presta jumping that and then throwing some freestyle knock-knocks, whips over LaRocco's lead.
09:16Very few riders did it at all.
09:18He did it with flair.
09:22Jet Lawrence right now, leaning on Barshot.
09:26See how far Jet went on the outside there.
09:29That's what he was trying to do with Hayden Deegan.
09:30He would have cut that corner short, maybe made that path.
09:34Unfortunately, he goes down.
09:37Trying to do it.
09:43Deegan holding his own against Hunter right now.
09:48Hunter a little bit quicker last time around, but certainly not eating that gap up.
09:52In fact, in these last couple sections, if anything, Deegan has answered.
09:56Oh, Lawrence almost got it again.

10:00Go back to a couple years ago.
10:01Him and Barshot had that incidental run-in at St. Louis Supercross.
10:07Yeah, I don't think Justin saw him, but now you can start to see Hayden Deegan opening that gap up.
10:12I think a little bit of that is just the way this track is, certain parts.
10:16You just understand you can't pass, but Hayden Deegan's starting now look like he's finding that flow of the leader's
10:23pace.
10:23He's seeing these lines, and he's able to get away from them.
10:25So, you can do that and start setting his sight on Jorge Prada, and continue to move forward.
10:32It's seven seconds to gap.
10:36All right, back to this Barshot and Jet Lawrence battle.
10:39Up what they call the Monza turn here.
10:44And Lawrence makes the move.
10:45I love that.
10:46That's the history of Barshot.
10:47Jet went in there.
10:48Barshot was not fighting him, but because of not what Barshot did to Jet, but just how Barshot rides.
10:54He never lets anybody get away with a pass.
10:56Jet just sent it up, looking back like, I'm not sure.
10:59Even though I got this pass, I'm not sure.
11:01He's able to make his way up into ninth, or eighth, excuse me.
11:06A wild day.
11:08Look at the overall points down on the lower left.
11:10It would be Prada with the overall win.
11:12Again, Hunter has to get all the way to Prada.
11:14He has to win the moto to take the overall win away from Jorge.
11:18And right now, Hunter's two and a half seconds back from second place.
11:22Deegan.
11:25And then Jet's going to give up the point lead, I believe, if it ends like this.
11:30And then Garrett's up in the top five again.
11:34They're doing that last.
11:35Yeah.

11:37Cooper Webb.
11:39Doing Cooper Webb stuff.
11:41I know he feels good with the USA.
11:43And being here, that's probably inspired.

11:47Good to see Cooper up here fighting for these things.
11:51That was a little sketchy.
11:54And Webb, man, you saw him out there.
11:56He put it on his social media, testing at Southwick, I think Monday after Hot Point.
12:01So, okay.
12:02He's not at his traditional level of battling at the front for championships like he does in Supercross.
12:06But don't think that this guy's not putting in work, testing, riding.
12:10We mentioned him and Deegan went to North Carolina to ride at Dax Bennett's place.
12:14And the old JTR track there in North Carolina as well.
12:18So, they're trying a little bit better today from Webb in sixth.
12:23Yeah.
12:23Well, anytime when it gets into battle, Cooper finds that a little bit of motivation or whatever he needs to
12:29fight anyone.
12:31Whether he's around Jorge or whoever.
12:32He just always fights something.
12:34And so, good to see him out here.
12:35He always continues to battle.
12:38Okay.
12:39Lawrence now getting a hair up.
12:42Hair up on the Triumph.
12:44And Triumph this week parted with their team manager, Steve Westfall.
12:48I talked to Jeremy Coker, the general manager of the team.
12:51They hired Ivan Tedesco as the assistant team manager.
12:54They want Tedesco to eventually move to that position.
12:57And Coker just admitted, look, it's been a struggle for us this year.
13:00We've got to change something.
13:01It's really not even a statement as to Steve himself and his performance.
13:05We just felt we've got to try something.
13:07So, Coker's going to be team manager for the rest of this year.
13:12And they presume that eventually Tedesco will take over full team manager duties maybe by next year.
13:16But they're trying, and it's getting better, certainly, this new 450 effort for the team.
13:22Harrop's been good.
13:23Jordan Smith around that top 10 right now in this photo as well.
13:28Here comes Jett, though.
13:30Yeah, Jett's making his way up.
13:32But, yeah, I mean, I understand that.
13:34Sometimes you just need to hear a different voice.
13:35I mean, you hear riders say the same thing.
13:37You just need a fresh start.
13:39Or coaches and other, you know, disciplines, sports.
13:44It's not bad, but you've got to make that change to hear a different voice to kind of give that
13:48spark for the team.
13:49And that's what should probably happen.

13:53Talking with Jeremy here this week as well.
13:55I was asking about what Mikkel really brings to the table.
13:57And he said he's such a level-headed rider.
13:59He knows what he wants.
14:00He understands what it takes to get a job done.
14:02But most importantly, he's patient.
14:05And he said that has paid dividends with this new bike here, this new 450 with the team.
14:10And it's really helpful to have a guy like him on this bike doing everything they need to do.

14:21Yeah, Hunter's the faster of the two.
14:23He's able to close back in.
14:25But Hayden's picking his pace up.
14:26You know, the lap before, they were actually faster than Jorge.
14:29That's kind of what I expected with him.
14:32And Hunter knows if he wants any shot at winning this overall, he has to get around Hayden Deegan.
14:38But that's going to be a lot harder as Hayden is going to fight you for sure.
14:43Jet makes a small mistake in the top box.

14:50He's too battling.
14:51Jet should have the inside of him.
14:53Nice move by him.

15:29Cooper's not going to fight him too hard on it.

15:36And let's see how that affects the championship points.
15:39Actually, these passes he's made would be enough for him to retain the red plate.
15:43But Hunter can get some points.
15:45He's got a tall order, though.
15:46He's got to get around Deegan, and you know Hayden will fight him with everything he has.

15:53Wow, this is a big moment.
15:54It feels a bit inevitable that maybe Hunter's going to get by just from the track record this season.
15:59But for Hayden, this is an opportunity to beat not only one of the Lawrence brothers this season for the
16:04first time,
16:04but it could be both of them in the same moto right here.
16:08So we talk about baby steps.
16:09We talk about progression for Hayden Deegan.
16:12This is a real opportunity.
16:13You can see him that he senses that he's pushing.
16:16Hunter's pushing as well.
16:19Get him.
16:20Yeah, able to get in.
16:21I was actually thinking about Hayden might take a shot at him if he had an opportunity.
16:26You know, not a dirty shot, but just you see how Hayden rides.
16:30You don't want to let anybody pass free, especially these guys.
16:33So Hunter Lawrence was able to make that pass.
16:34That's why he was so aggressive and shutting that inside down.
16:37Keep Hayden from doing that.
16:38Now see, Hunter's been faster all day long, has a better flow.
16:43I probably might be able to get it right with Hayden if he gets a couple clean laps
16:46and maybe set aside from Jorge out front.
16:49A lot has transpired.
16:51Only halfway through this moto, though.
16:53A reminder to stock up on Monster Energy.

16:59He'd have to reel in nine and a half seconds on Prado.

17:07And the next couple of lap times could tell the entire story.

17:26And not knowing how Jorge is going to be on a hot day.
17:29First really hot day of this championship.

17:33You know how strong you are.
17:34So I think he has a belief.
17:36But it's really going to come down these next two laps.
17:40And there's Prado on the Red Bull KTM looking for his first win in the United States.
17:46The Spaniard.
17:49Rough year last year.
17:51Made the transition to America with a new team with Monster Energy Kawasaki.
17:55That did not go well.
17:57He has certainly made believers out of a lot of people.
18:00He just said if he could get back on the KTM, he could fix a lot of the problems.
18:05He's been much better than expected in Supercross.
18:08He's been good here in Pro Motocross.
18:10But a win would be a massive step.
18:14And these next four or five minutes could tell the entire story.
18:17Here's the gap.
18:19Yeah, and I'm looking at lap times.
18:21Jorge was two seconds slower.
18:23Or Hunter was two seconds faster than Jorge that last lap.
18:26So you wonder, is that just the lap riders?
18:29You can see the lap riders in front of Jorge.
18:31Or there's something else going into it.
18:33So Hunter gets on that same straightaway and he starts to see him.
18:37Jorge is going to start riding behind him.
18:39While he's trying to get around these lap riders, which is going to be costly for him.
18:43This race is not over, Jay.
18:46And more lapers, Jay, for Prado to deal with.
18:57Yeah, you can look at the gap now.
18:59It's 5.3.

19:01A lap ago is not in almost 10 seconds.

19:26So he doesn't get held up here.
19:27This lap rider is far enough in front of him where he's not going to get too far held up.
19:32Guy will probably look back, slow down.
19:34So Hunter is going to clear these guys pretty easily, considering what Jorge did.

19:46Let's see what the lap time actually is for the two of them.
19:50We said it could be the next two laps to tell the story.

20:01And that was his fastest lap of the race for Hunter Lawrence.
20:05So that momentum.
20:07Jett Lawrence is now caught in March Banks, which is a good ride.
20:10He was about 10 seconds in front of him.
20:13So he's able to catch him.
20:14And then he'll be a long ways as he misses.
20:17The Rocco's leap is going to lose a little bit of time.
20:18About 10 seconds more to RJ.
20:25Well, it's been flip-flopping as far as the point lead, by the way, goes.
20:28Right now, he'll be back to Hunter having the red plate going into Southwick by one over Jett.
20:35Now, Jett could get a point back, and they'd be tied if he could get March Banks.
20:39But I think we know Hunter wants more.
20:42He wants the full score.
20:43He wants the moto win.
20:46Look at that gap now.

20:48Unbelievable.
20:51We're trying to figure with 11 minutes, did he have enough time?
20:54I mean, he might get him in a lap or two.
20:56At least get two, Prodo.
20:59Yeah, we go back to the next shot of these two.
21:00You're going to see him in the same screen.

21:07A little wider screen, but hey, he's there.
21:09Yeah, he's there.
21:10Yeah, actually, Hunter made a mistake, JT.
21:13Yeah, and this is one of the toughest things here for Jorge Prado, like dynamics for him to face
21:17because not only is he losing time, but that breeds confidence for Hunter.
21:22So the mental game, the mental challenge for Jorge, you just see him getting closer and closer.
21:27You start getting more tired.
21:28You get a little bit more frantic.
21:29Well, all those things go the opposite way for Hunter.
21:32His confidence improves.
21:33He doesn't feel tired at all anymore.
21:35The adrenaline kicks in, and it's just one of the most challenging things you can ever face
21:39when you're out front is, you know, how that shifts from one rider to the other.
21:43They're kind of both doing the same thing, but mentally, it's going the opposite direction.
21:49Yeah, 100%, JT.
21:50I've actually been in a spot where Jorge has, and there's nothing you really can do.
21:54You just feel like you're stuck in the mud, and the guy behind you is just coming.
21:57You notice Jorge looks like he's starting to tighten up.
22:00He's sitting down a little bit more.
22:01I'm going to face some jumps.
22:02And that, to me, is, you know, Ryder maybe starting to feel the heat, but also he just can't do
22:08anything.
22:09Hunter is coming.
22:10And I feel like I almost saw Hunter go down there, but he has absolutely bridged the gap.
22:14He said those two laps would be critical.
22:16Well, he cut nine seconds down to one.
22:20This time it was 2-13-4 against 2-16-8.
22:24So three and a half seconds chopped out.
22:27Bottom box is Jett Lawrence going after March Banks for fifth again.
22:31This time Jett does clear LaRocco's lead.
22:35Yeah, you're talking about the pace is cut down with Jorge.
22:39I mean, Hunter went two seconds slower than he did the previous lap with a 2-13, but Jorge was
22:45a 2-16.
22:46So, yeah, that time's coming.
22:49And Hunter knows that.
22:50As he almost goes down, this track is just super tricky.
22:54But he knows, like, look, now I can relax a little bit.
22:56He's probably going to regather his thoughts, take a break, because he had to put in that sprint.
23:00And now knowing I got plenty of time as quickly as I caught this guy, I'm going to go to
23:04work, play chess now with this guy.
23:07So that is the metering of energy.
23:09You put in that two laps, get to him, and then you might take a breather for a second.
23:12Yeah, that's what he's doing, because you can tell about Hunter's lap time.
23:15So he'll drop back and kind of do what he did, even with Jett.
23:18He won't rush these things, because he had to put all that effort to get to him.
23:22And now you got to him, and you can tell with Jorge's body language, how easy it is for you
23:27to stay there.
23:27Just rest, because you know, make that pass and put in another sprint, this race is over.
23:32Oh, well, maybe everybody but Hunter.
23:34He was just in that spot.
23:36Oh, yeah.
23:37Yeah.
23:38He got struck in the first moto.
23:40This is it for the overall.
23:42It'll be massive again, because it'll be the first ever in America for Prado.
23:49Now, the one thing with Hunter, if you have more time in this race, you can just sit back and
23:54relax.
23:54So that's what he's doing.
23:55But at the same time, he's got to be careful, because he's towards the end of the race.
23:59At some point, Jorge will look at the time left and be like, oh, man, I might be able to
24:03finish this thing off.
24:04And he might pick up that pace.
24:06So Hunter, only taking that break, he's going to have to make that pass probably within the next lap or
24:11two.
24:11Otherwise, Jorge is going to start looking towards the finish to pick that pace back up, which he looks like
24:15he's starting to do already.
24:16Absolutely.
24:18Let's see these lap times.
24:252.15.9, so Prado a little better than the 2.16 last time, and a 2.16.9 for
24:32Hunter.
24:32So they got back up from one second to two seconds.
24:36Yeah, and I think that goes back to what I was saying.
24:38Hunter was taking that break.
24:39Now, Hunter should put in a faster lap time.
24:42He should be able to close back in on Jorge.
24:45Jorge really didn't pick up the pace anymore.
24:47He kind of stayed the same as the lap before, but Hunter really dropped off.
24:50That's where that gap goes.
24:51But Hunter will probably close back in on him and try to make this move this lap if he can.
24:59Yeah, to give you an idea, Hunter, the 2.16.9,
25:03That's over five seconds slower than he did just two laps earlier when he was putting in the effort to
25:09get there.

25:14Yeah, the pit board for Prado is saying, legs, five to go.
25:18Meanwhile, for Hunter Lawrence, I was talking to the team about it,
25:21and they said the win in high point may have been solidifying for him, proving that he can do it.
25:26And so, of course, we're seeing this new Hunter rise up, and it's pretty cool to see it.
25:31Remember also, guys, he had those bike changes from Pala back over there at high point.
25:37So we know that he's more comfortable on the bike, and he's putting all the pieces together.
25:41Well, for sure, Katie, we saw it in Moto1, coulda, shoulda, woulda won that one,
25:44but the last lap to the bike cutout, he fell, and that is the reason it's one-on-one now.
25:50You have to win the Moto to win the overall.
25:53It'd be a 3-1, or sorry, a 3-2 for Hunter would not be able to get that right.
25:58It'd be a 2-2 for Hunter.
26:00It would not overcome a 3-1 from Prado.
26:04Hunter's back in it.
26:05Yeah, now Hunter's going to have a run up here, and Jorge's mechanic was telling Lex
26:10because he was seeing the same thing I was.
26:11He was sitting down a little bit more, but I would be surprised that Jorge's been around the game before.
26:17He knows that, hey, if Hunter's coming, I've got to have something to fight him with.
26:20So maybe that gap in that speed might be more a little bit of Jorge relaxing
26:24because he knows the 96 is coming anyway, have a battle.
26:28But quickly, as I say that, Hunter's there.
26:33It's on now, what a way to end the day at Redbud.
26:36Prado versus Hunter Lawrence for the Moto and overall win.
26:42Probably going to be four laps to go.
26:46All right, Hunter's going to try to...
26:47Oh, and Lap Rider goes down.
26:49They barely avoided that.
26:51Hunter shows up who we on the inside.
26:53Gets it.
26:58Now Jorge's going to do everything he can to fight back as he tries to run up the inside.
27:03Hunter's got to be clean through these next sections because Jorge has a little bit of momentum
27:07as he squares him up.
27:08Try to go to the outside.
27:13That's a good fight there for the 26.
27:15Those lines didn't work.
27:16He didn't do the double, and now Hunter has it.
27:19Yeah, you see that body language from Jorge.
27:21Once he made that small mistake, he was like, all right, that was kind of it.
27:26And, man, great route by Marchpanks for keeping the number one behind him this whole time.
27:33Jets finally able to get around them, so that shows you how good Marchpanks was riding.
27:38Yeah, no doubt.
27:40So Jet Lawrence of the fifth, Hunter to the lead, JT.
27:43Yeah, and it's a little bit of a different Hunter Lawrence.
27:47And, listen, he was so fantastic at Monster to Supercross.
27:50He was so close to winning that first championship there.
27:53But this late race fitness, this is a marked change.
27:57And I don't want to say he was out of shape before.
27:59That would be wildly inaccurate.
28:00But his burst here at the end, he was able to do it to jet there before the tip over.
28:06Now here with Prado, like, he has more in the tank late in these races than I've ever seen from
28:11the 96.
28:12Yeah, and that's a great point.
28:13But even what Katie said earlier was even an amazing point to remind us that, yeah, Hunter did make a
28:19change to the motorcycle.
28:20So not only has he figured out something, he's showing these late race bursts of energy, speed, but he's also
28:27got something to rely on.
28:28Like, oh, I made this change.
28:30And ever since then, I've been the best guy.
28:32I've been able to do it late in the race.
28:35I've been able to pull away from Jet when he's better than everybody else.
28:38So he's not only beaten them, he's got something to rely on to say, well, that was the difference as
28:43well.
28:43And that's huge for a rider like Hunter because it's not a fluke.
28:46It's not just two races.
28:47He made changes to his bike, whatever else he did.
28:50And now, ever since he's done that, he's been by far the best guy in this field and backing it
28:56up again here at the second moto.
28:57That's right.
28:58The record won't show it because of the crash at the last moment of the first moto.
29:03But he could be sitting on a four-moto win streak.
29:06He's ridden well enough for it and doing it in different ways.
29:10This time without the traditional good start.
29:13The bottom box is Jet, who's up to fifth, still has five seconds to make up.
29:17On Hampshire to get any further forward and not much time left on the clock.
29:23Yeah, I think Jet is, yeah, he's coming in.
29:27RJ's kind of in that no-man's land.
29:29So if Jet can see him, maybe I have the same thing with Hunter.
29:31But just to show you how impressed Hunter as he almost, whoa, stalled the motorcycle.
29:36Just pulling the clutch, baby.
29:38Just get through it again right here.
29:40But really impressed with Hunter because you've seen how long it took Jet to get around Garrett, who's riding great
29:46today.
29:47And Jet had the pace, but he's not been able to make that much time up.
29:50But the time that Hunter was able to make up on Jet, on Jorge, when he decided, just showed you
29:55how good that guy's riding.
29:56And sometimes it goes a little bit deeper than just even lap times out here.
30:01Hunter's showing us the way.
30:03Now Prada would still be second overall.
30:06Same amount of points for the day as Jet, but the better second moto is the tiebreak.
30:10If Jet Loris can bridge the gap all the way and get to Hampshire, which is going to be tough,
30:16he would then take second overall away from Prada.
30:18But frustrating day for the number one, no doubt about it.
30:23He was not happy with his own performance in the first moto.
30:26Certainly can't be happy with the two crashes here.
30:30Yeah, I'd be curious to hear if they made any changes or does he feel like he rode better.
30:34I know the results, he's not going to be happy, but I think Jet was more not mad that he
30:40lost the race, but more how it happened.
30:42And the fact that maybe he didn't have the bike or the answers to compete with Hunter, even though he
30:46won.
30:48He'll be disappointed, but maybe he found those answers in between motos.
30:51We'll find out.
30:55Well, it's not going to say 1-1 again, but it is going to say two overall wins in a
30:59row.
30:59And Hunter would have the point lead by three.
31:05He'd have the red plate back going to Southwick.
31:07So that's still a lot of momentum for the 96.
31:11Two to go.
31:12Yeah, it is.
31:14And I think what's happening here is that Hunter is starting to change that narrative a little bit.
31:19You know, we talked about when Jet's out front, nobody beats him.
31:22I mean, nobody really beats him in general.
31:25But Hunter did that, that first moto.
31:26And not only did he, well, almost did it, he was able to pass him and pull away, make it
31:31look pretty easy.
31:32Last time we were out in high point, he pulled away, made it look pretty easy.
31:36You look at this race, made it look pretty easy.
31:39And going back to what Katie said earlier, when you talk about bike changes, I just go back to that.
31:44I'm a Hunter.
31:44I'm like, man, that bike has made that big of a difference along with my skills to where I can
31:49make it look pretty easy against anyone.
31:52And if I'm Jet Lawrence, now you're starting to worry because it's not backed it up.
31:56He even backed up even more than what he did a couple weeks ago, JT.
32:00Agree, James.
32:01And, you know, for one of the first times ever, just Jet looks a little vulnerable.
32:05Now, he's been great.
32:06He's going to lose a red plate here, but he's been, you know, really great this season.
32:10But for a guy like Hunter, who is able to sense these things, he, you know, it's his baby brother.
32:17He drives with him all the time.
32:18If we can see it, if Jet just looks beatable, I promise you that Hunter understands that much more than
32:24we do.
32:24And that is a big, big difference in this story.
32:27I truly believe in the past, like Hunter thought he could win, but he wasn't always sure.
32:33You know, he's just always waiting for Jet to kind of grab victory out of the jaws of defeat.
32:38That story's changed a little bit where I think Hunter believes now that he's going to win unless otherwise notified.
32:46And that is a, that's a big shift in this story, big picture.
32:49Yeah, it is.
32:50And when we talked about on our call during the week, I was, my question was with Hunter.
32:54I know when he's on, you can beat anybody, everybody knows that.
32:57But it's like when you start becoming dominant and great and really fight for a championship,
33:02it's about to win on your B days or days that you're not the fastest in practice.
33:05I would actually say that today, even though he's been by far the best doing his moto, Jet was faster
33:11than he was in practice.
33:12So it's not like Hunter had that flow from the, when he showed up on the racetrack and he just
33:17looked way better than everybody else.
33:19He didn't.
33:20And first moto, Jet left him the first 10, 15 minutes.
33:23And then he's able to bounce back.
33:25So that's a bigger momentum boost as far as with Hunter now believing that.
33:30You know what?
33:30I can go to any track and do this on the days that maybe I don't have everything.
33:34And man, I'm looking forward to it.
33:38But that being said, I would say this.
33:40Jet Lawrence made every rider out here change their game and raise their game when he came in this class,
33:45went 22-0 and dominated.
33:47He was the face.
33:48He made Hunter, he made Chase Sexton, Eli, elevated.
33:52Now Hunter Lawrence is going to have to make Jet Lawrence elevate.
33:56What do we get from that?
33:57We haven't seen that since Jet's been in this 450 class.
34:00I'm excited to see it.
34:01And I know the 18 or number one can't do that.
34:04Just raising the game at these boys.
34:06Great stuff.
34:07Yeah, it just happens to be brothers and teammates.
34:10But either way, you're getting what you want.
34:12This is a very closely contested 450 Pro Motocross championship fight.
34:18It would be three points between them and three wins for one and two wins for another going into Southwick.
34:25We mentioned again that the Coonan brothers are coming back.
34:29And that kind of terrain, Lucas Coonan in the 450 class could certainly be a factor.
34:35Prado has been, probably had it marked on the calendar when he gets back to Southwick.
34:39He loves that track and thinks he should do well there.
34:41So that is going to be an interesting one next Saturday.
34:45But right now, Hunter Lawrence, I don't want to say too much.
34:48I talked him up on the last lap of Moto 1 and he had a problem.
34:52We're just going to, sorry to use the wrong word here, cool the Jets until he gets to the finish.
34:58And that producer would say, Bondo, hey, just lay out.
35:01All right, just lay out.
35:03We'll let the fans do the shouting from here.
35:07It has been an epic day.
35:10And credit to these people, it rained so hard last night.
35:13The wind came in, it rained again in the middle of the night.
35:17The sun's shining when it matters.
35:23And the proverbial spotlight's on Hunter.
35:31Not only did he win some Moto, but he crossed the track flag, he'll win the overall.
35:36So what happened that first Moto, that'll kind of go away.
35:38That's right.
35:39I made up points on my brother, backed up what I did a couple weekends ago,
35:42and now I've got the red plate.
35:43What a great day.
35:44And style over LaRocco's lead.
