The man sought by police for allegedly confining and sexually assaulting a teenage boy in Bukit Kemuning was previously convicted of a similar offence.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Ramsay Embol said the suspect was sentenced to 17 years' jail in 2008 for raping and wrongfully confining a woman in Pandan Indah.

00:01Police have revealed that the suspect being hunted in connection with the confinement,
00:05abuse and sodomy of a teenage boy in Bukit Khmuning has a dark criminal past.
00:11Shah Alam District Police Chief ACP Ramsey Embal confirmed that the man had previously
00:16been convicted of rape, unlawful confinement and robbery, offences committed against a
00:21woman 18 years ago.
00:22He was sent to prison in 2008.
00:25The incident came to light on Tuesday when a 14-year-old boy was rescued by a neighbour
00:29after being locked inside an apartment unit in Bukit Khmuning for approximately three
00:34hours.
00:35The victim alleged he had been confined, physically abused and sodomized by an unknown man inside
00:40the unit the previous day.
00:43CCTV footage captured the victim walking alongside the suspect at around 8.05 in the morning,
00:49roughly four hours before he was rescued.
00:51A CP Ramsey said the suspect has been identified and that efforts to track him down are actively
00:57underway.
