A lorry, a workers' van, and a car caught fire following a collision at the Udini underpass along Jalan Masjid Negeri in George Town Friday (May 15) morning.

All victims were reported safe.

00:13The crash involved a lorry, believed to be hauling concrete pillars, a workers' van, and a car.
00:20Despite the severity of the blaze, all those involved were reported to have escaped safely.
00:25Penang Fire and Rescue received the emergency call at 7.04am.
00:30Eight personnel from the Jalan Perak Fire and Rescue Station were deployed to the scene.
00:35By 7.33, the fire had been brought under control, less than 30 minutes after the alarm was raised.
00:42The Penang City Council deployed traffic wardens to manage the flow at the underpass,
00:47urging the public to avoid the area and seek alternative routes until conditions were declared safe.
00:52Footage circulating on social media showed three additional vehicles near the scene,
00:58all successfully moved away before the flames could spread further.
01:02Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
